Featuring a range of wildlife, red kites, hares, deers are often spotted around the family run farm. Enjoying easy access to an array of walks including stiperstones ridge walk, the hollies & poles coppice circular and the Gatten Valley circular walk. We are approximately 6 miles from the long mynd which offers a classic Shropshire hills scenery, featuring valleys, moorland and woodland. If you're a mountain biker we are a 5 minutes bike ride to eastridge woods notorious for its diverse terrain and challenging trails. We provide basic facilities on our family run site with friendly local knowledge and advice we can give. Children and dogs are welcome. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Surrounded by several country pubs seeking a refreshing pint we are just 1 mile drive to the local pub with other takeaways and restaurants within a couple of miles. Including a local butchers and bakery in Pontesbury (Hignetts) as well as a Co-op. If you love history and are looking to explore the local area we are close to Snailbeach Whitegrit Mine: Located in the immediate vicinity, Snailbeach is home to the most complete lead mining site in Britain. Guests can explore the remarkably preserved engine houses, the blacksmith`s shop, and the distinctive "Whitegrit" spoil heaps that characterize the valley`s skyline. Guests can opt for a 30 minute walk through the countryside or a 20 minute drive. A 30 minute drive takes you to the medieval market town of Shrewsbury, famous for its timber-framed "black and white" buildings and steep, narrow passageways known as "shuts." Shrewsbury Prison: A premier "dark tourism" attraction. This decommissioned Victorian jail offers immersive guided tours led by former officers, escape rooms, and a fascinating look into 200 years of penal history. The Quarry Park & River Severn: Enjoy a walk through the 29-acre riverside park or take a boat trip on the Sabrina to see the town from the water. I stayed on David land and he was very kind and welcoming, I got to know his horse George and muched out the Stall and walked George on his head halter and lead and also was allowed to feed and brush him and clean his hooves, I was very much in my eliminates, wildlife and so much nature

Such a fab place to spend a few days. Absolutely beautiful. Loved the river and the facilities are just what I need. Also loved the addition of a kettle (for mornings so cold my stove wouldn’t work!), microwave and fridge freezer. Also plugs so you can charge phones etc. Lovely clean toilet and shower block. I’ll definitely be back!

Great campsite for easy walk into Knighton. Clean facilities. Hot showers, fridge and freezer and washing up areas. Didn't like the noise of the railway. Also didn't like the bird sing song in the morning. But what do you expect when you're in the countryside! But they're the only negatives. So a very good campsite otherwise.

Such a great campsite with gorgeous views and super quiet with different options to set up pitch with or without vehicle. Toilets were clean and warm showers. Farm shop was a little walk through the woods so you don’t get the hustle and bustle from that at all but still have access to food/drink by foot although the site is very near local shops by car too. Lovely little walk marked out too to wander around the farm. Staff at the shop & check in were super friendly and helpful, we felt really welcomed!!

Weekend Trip to Wild Camping in the Cotswolds

The site was easy to find. The field is huge and very private so we could all park comfortably together. There are toilet facilities up at the farm and the staff were really helpful in directing us. There are some interesting walks from the site around the former RAF Windrush and the local pub can be accessed from the site across the fields so we could easily avoid walking on the main road. I definitly recommend it as an intro to wild camping or a peaceful retreat for those in a self-contained system.

Nice piece of land with a wild camp feel. I met Dave when I arrived, he seemed like a lovely chap. The field will be muddy when wet so if you’re in a van beware. I chose to spend my second night on the hard standing as it was very wet and I’m glad I did. Even if I avoided getting stuck I would have churned up the ground pretty badly Lots of fire pits dotted around which was really convenient for a camp fire Really convenient location for Brecon and surrounding areas

We stayed in the Swan and Mallard Pods and the accommodation was perfect in a beautiful setting. They were super cosy with electricity, an en-suite and plenty of utensils. There is Ye Olde Swan nearby, which has just recently reopened and is ideal for pub grub and a drink. Adenira welcomed us and was so helpful and friendly.. We would definitely recommend this little gem of a setting on the banks of the River Thames.

Where to go

North Malvern Hills

The northern hills are the place to escape the crowds. Follow the many Discovery Trails through rolling farmlands and orchards, take a walk in the Ravenshill Woodland Reserve, then adjourn to a country pub for a hearty lunch. Further south, the Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve has tree-lined trails and picnic spots along Leigh Brook.

South Malvern Hills

The town of Great Malvern lies at the heart of the hills and leads the way to some of the region’s most popular hikes. Climb Worcestershire Beacon for a view from the hills’ highest point, explore the Iron Age hillfort at British Camp, then admire the mighty Georgian castle at Eastnor.

Wye Valley

Southwest of the Malvern Hills, the Wye Valley AONB stretches over the border into Wales. Paddle down the Wye River on a canoe, enjoy dramatic hikes through forested gorges, or park your campervan at idyllic riverside camping grounds. There’s plenty for non-hikers to enjoy too, from the evocative ruins of Tintern Abbey to sampling the region’s famous cider.

Cotswolds

Another AONB within day-trip distance of the Malvern Hills is the Cotswolds, England’s quintessential country getaway. This is the realm of gastropubs, luxury glamping, and artisan shopping, but don’t be put off by its high-flying reputation—there are also endless options for scenic hikes and leisurely bike rides. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy a road trip along the winding country lanes, stopping off in chocolate box villages along the way.
