Received a very warm welcome to our numbered & reserved pitch. A lovely quiet site, fantastic facilities lovely clean and hot showers and toilets. So quiet at night, we stayed in our campervan on an electric gravel pitch, really enjoyed our (1 night) stay. Castle Howard is generally beautiful also!

We had such a fun time. Claire (our host) was lovely and made us feel incredibly welcome. We didn't bring anything to sit on (as we had taken public transport) and she was kind enough to lend us some benches for us to use on our patch. She ensured that our wood was kept dry for our campfire and that she was within reach should we need anything. We would definitely return again. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Me and my partner came here for a much needed city break by tent and it was honestly amazing! The shower and toilet are seperate facilities and both clean, there is a kitchen too with a gas stove for cooking! The site is near anywhere you'd like to drive or even walk to around the peak district, and in the actual site itself you can see all the altitude and beauty around you. The air is incredibly fresh, and the owners of the campsite are really sweet and helpful. Will definitely come back for our next trip to the peak district this summer, thank you for having us :)

We really enjoyed our stay! Lovely campsite, we had the woodlands all to ourselves and enjoyed exploring the local footpaths and seeing the animals on the farm. Our dog loved it! The host Jon was very helpful and insightful with the local area. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Weekend Trip to Huckleberry Farm
Our getaway to Huckleberry Farm was a gift for my husband’s birthday. Everything from start to finish was really organised and fun. Met all of our expectations. Charlotte and everyone on site were really helpful and sweet. We enjoyed horse riding and seeing the guinea pigs. We stayed in the shepherd’s hut, a clean and well maintained space that felt like home for the night. All in all a wonderful experience. Completely recommend! Thank you Charlotte and everyone at Huckleberry Farm for having Ali & I. Looking back to visiting again sometime soon!

Spent a wonderful time there. It's really secluded. I had the whole woods alone. The host is very friendly and helpful. I only missed my family because the place is well equipped for a family. Everything is there what you need to have a comfortable superb time in the nature. The host even provided a saw to be able to use the fallen branches for campfire. I will definitely go back, next time probably with my family.
I highly recommend this campsite!

Ease and convenience are the name of the game when camping. Pub is super close, definitely stop by after a hike for a pint and fries. We got to view our hiking spot from our tent. The hot water showers are a dream and the toilets are clean and well stocked. Site was not crowded and campers were quiet. For context, we stayed 29 and 30 August 2025. 10/10 would go back. Take coins for showers!

We loved our private location , fox corner ,only campers in our field , with access to the shallow river , crystal clear water , found some crayfish , the kids throughly enjoyed.
We paid for fire wood , toasted our marshmallows and made smores .
Great location for start gazing on a clear night .
Very calming , relaxing , back to basics site but that's all you need for a great reset .

Where to go
Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
With a mix of coniferous and deciduous groves, heathland, wetlands, and farmland, Cannock Chase—an hour’s drive of Nottingham—is the place to go if you wish to see a lot of different types of flora in one place. Cycle paths weave through the area, making it an excellent spot to visit on two wheels. Many landowners in and around the area offer campsites and glamping.
Peak District National Park
Among the most popular of England’s national parks, this 55-square-mile expanse is an excellent place to stretch your legs—or get some exercise. Here you’ll find miles of walking and cycling paths that wind through beautiful landscapes dotted with heaths and moors. Tourist attractions include four show caves and a museum—the Eyam Museum—that chronicles the story of the bubonic plague.
Lincolnshire Wolds AONB
If you’re up for a long walk, the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB is the place to be. The area is known for its walking trails, including the 268-mile-long Pennine Way National Trail and the 55-mile-long Derwent Valley Heritage Way, which runs along the Derwent Valley. The trail crosses the Derwent Valley Mills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the modern mill system.
When to go
Nottingham has typical English weather, with cool—but rarely freezing winters—warmish summers, and a persistently high chance of rain. The weather is at its finest from May through September, and you're best off visiting during this period if you plan to do much tent camping or walking. If you come during the first week of October, however, you'll be able to attend the Nottingham Goose Fair, a funfair that traces its origins to the 13th century.
