Having said that, don’t worry: you won’t have to scramble across hills and dales for a pint: a traditional pub serving real ales and home-cooked food is right in the village of Peak Forest, a 20-minute walk away. This is wild camping; facilities might not be abundant (there are no showers), but they are well maintained and include a portable toilet and a washing-up area. You'll park at the edge of a three-acre meadow and walk around 50–250 yards to the pitches, which are mown into the long grass. It’s a clever spot for families as it’s a mile from the nearest road, making it quiet and safe for kids to roam freely without any danger from traffic.
As this is wild camping, facilities are minimal: drinking water, a simple washing-up sink, compost loos and basic gas-heated outdoor showers are your lot. However, you’ll wake up to birdsong every morning and go to sleep by starlight on clear nights; just remember to bring torches and batteries for after-dark wanderings.
The views are peaceful and rural, and the field is bordered by deciduous woodland – great for exercising any four-legged pals – criss-crossed with footpaths leading to country pubs (there are four within half an hour’s walk). This is a lovely site with a great toilet block which is clean...would give a hotel a run for their money! The pub down the road is about 25mins walk and they deliver to the site. Lovely walks around the area. A definite site to stop at with a late check out making it a relaxing time from beginning to end! Thanks 😊

Plenty of space where you’re pretty much left to your own devices. Portaloo in close proximity which was immaculate. You can pick your own pitch either in the wood, the field or next to the lake. We absolutely loved it. A great place to sit round the fire pit, listen to music, sink a beer and reminisce the good times. I found it the perfect place to decompress and forget the outside world! Took paddle boards and a kayak for a day down at Paper Mill Lock and it was perfect. Well worth a visit. £5 for all day parking, tea room and ice cream stall. The place was buzzing!! Tim’s land was the perfect base camp. Bravo Tim!!

Perfect for an overnight stop on our campervan adventure from London to Scotland. Super relaxed feel to the site, lots of clean porta-loos in the family camping field making it really family friendly. Flushing toilets and showers are available, also very close by. Thank you!

Awesome to be able to forage your own wood and have a fire pretty much anywhere you like. Tim was very friendly and laid back. A few decent options to pitchup in a field or woods. Heads up no wild swimming there any more as stream has silted up but is still a natural spring there though and some incredbile old oak trees. Tim recommend the River Stour as a paddleboarding spot which was great and 30mins ish drive away. Subbury, henny or Bures all good for getting on the river if you that way inclined

Friendly, back to basics campsite in lovely countryside on the outskirts of Birmingham. 24 minutes from the NEC. We've been going here for about four years... we always receive a friendly welcome from Charlotte. Would heartedly recommend if you life rustic, friendly campsites with fire pits under the stars 😀

What an excellent campsite!! Charltotte gave us great instructions of where to camp for a quiet time and it's such a large area we were spoiled for choice. We used one of the fire pits and Charlotte drove round in the evening asking campers if they needed more wood. The farm shop sold excellent food for the BBQ. We'll definitely be returning (the dogs loved it too).

Great place for a short break. The views are stunning from the top of the relaxed field, and the trip was more pleasant with a open fire. Charlotte was amazing, and drive round to check if we required anything, also informed us of the vintage tractors which made the day!! Would gladly visit again and recommend. Thank you!!
