Weekend Trip to Intake Farm

Fantastic Woodland camping spots and site. Fantasticly friendly and approachable hosts with great onsite facilities, produce to buy, fire pits to hire, composting toilets, hot showers and wash up station for campers. A working farm with lots of animals to be near and can watch feeding times. We had a lovely peaceful stay and will return again for sure.

1 night at Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe

Lovely area, and loads of nice touches to the site (hammocks, clean toilets, cut paths to explore). The water/moat was just sludge when we went (I'm blaming the heatwave!) but still a beautiful spot to listen to the birds and watch sunsets on the hills opposite. The church bells were a fun addition!

Really nice campsite and a fantastic shop and cafe. No cars field much better than the area for campers (which has no view), but other than that (if you are in a van) this is a gem of a site.

My overnight stay was amazing! Truly a special place. I loved the privacy that the tall meadows provide. It felt like I was alone despite there being lots of other people there, too. Access to drinking water, toilets, and other amenities was great. Loved having a cup of tea before bed and a strong coffee in the morning which I was able to purchase there, therefore not needing to bring any cooking equipment. Overall would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to camp in the midlands. I will be back for sure!

Abbey Farm was excellent. The price was outstanding for what was on offer with the facilities and the site had so much open space it was great. Only slight issue was the shower was actually too hot to stand under

2 nights at Eden's Nook

This was such a quiet, lovely location! It was near to one of the access points for Glyndwr’s Way so we were able to hike a nice section of the trail. Clean facilities and super easy to find with responsive, friendly hosts - a good spot to unwind! The field for tent pitches was enclosed and we actually had the place to ourselves so our dogs could wander without worry - really enjoyed our stay here.

3 nights at Abbey Home Farm

Absolutely perfect, though not for everyone, luckily! Peaceful - meadows, birds, clover, butterflies, grasses, insects, moonlight. Spent a good while searching for the green woodpecker, but could only hear her. Couldn't drag myself away from the campsite!

The pitches are integrated into the meadows - crop circles in long grass. Lots of wildlife, birds and butterflies. Good facilities too

2 nights at Secluded Woodland Camp

Jon was a great host, really friendly and always happy to help. The views from the meadow fields are great and I had the whole place to myself for the first night and was just amazing, felt completely recharged and rested sitting in the fields watching the butterflies. Only downside is it’s a bit of a walk from the car and up bit of a hill. Not enough to put me off recommending it though. Just pack light and bring a friend to help pull the trolley. Can’t wait to come back again. 5* thanks again Jon :)

Lovely clean, spacious camping site, Friendly hosts and in a great location. River Trent next door, lovely walk along the canal & lovely garden centre opposite. In fact we liked it so much we stayed an extra night 😊

1 night at Eden's Nook

A fairly small camp ground with a beautiful big barn containing couches, TV, table, fridge, water and home like showers and toilets. Outside the barn there was a picnic table and a hut further along with a fire place that you could sit around and cook food. I did get a bit lost on my way there but the hosts were able to sort me out. When I did arrive they showed me around the place and explained where everything was and how it all worked. I shared the camp ground with only one other person and had a very pleasant time, so maybe consider booking during the quieter times of the week.

Views and location was amazing, we had such a lovely time just enjoy the scenery and the peace and quiet. Camp site has everything you need. Just gutted we had only booked the 3 nights, which we would of booked longer. Thank you!

Lovely, peaceful campsite. All of the facilities were well maintained. The countryside views were lovely and it was so good to be close to the farm shop. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful setting. If you want to get back to nature this is the place for you! We were a large family group celebrating three birthdays and it’s perfect to pitch up for campers and campervanners. The toliets are great and the shower was hot. My only feedback is to sort out the temperature of both showers so they run at a decent temp. One was cold and the other was too hot. And more bins on site so you can recycle more easily - food / non food. You’re encouraged to recycle at home as it’s a greenfield site. We’ll be back for sure!
