We have set up one luxuriously furnished bell tent in its very own field with the wide open, panoramic and uninterrupted views of Dartmoor before you. You will have a double bed with organic mattress, and the possibility of up to two single beds. A woodburning stove and so many more creature comforts. Instant hot showers in your very own converted horse box, and your own private compost toilet, minus the smells! This off-grid opportunity allows you to really unplug and spend time in magical nature.
Outdoor chairs and fire-bowl will allow you to soak in the view and everything you need to cook campfire style will be included along with a cool box. Water is available from our natural spring, eggs for sale from our chickens and local pork sausages available to buy.
Although the camp is off grid there is a solar powered pack allowing you to charge phones etc...

This peaceful, sheltered site has a special character. The site is the ideal place to unwind with plenty of safe space, a meandering river and friendly atmosphere. It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant.
Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge.
Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

Knowle Meadow Camping is a multi-award winning lavish camping and glamping site in a tree-enclosed meadow located in the heart of south Somerset, eight minutes from Ilminster. The site offers a small, intimate number of camping pitches as well as fantastic glamping options, including a Shepherd's Hut and Lotus Stargazer Belle tents.
The site has a Scandinavian wood-fired barrel sauna available for all guests on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays typically from 5pm until 6pm. It has a half-moon window showcasing the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and an accompanying cold water bucket shower.
There are hotel-style washrooms, with powerful rainfall showers.
With ten generously sized pitches available for tents or small campervans, the site offers a memorable and intimate camping experience. The camping pitches are all individual, surrounded by wildflowers and long grass, creating a picturesque setting for all campers.
There is also an all-weather barn with seating, and campers have access to a fridge freezer.
The Yarrow Shepherd's Hut is a two person hut made locally in Merriott. It boasts a superbly comfortable double bed, warming log burner, mini kitchen, and private Scandinavian woodfired hot tub. Yarrow's private hedge-enclosed garden has a firepit with a grill and outside seating, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
The site also offers two Lotus Stargazer Belle Tents (each sleeps up to two adults and two children), Bluebell and Foxglove, each with its own unique style. Both tents are six metres in diameter with skylight windows, providing uninterrupted views of the night sky. Each tent has a king-size bed and two single "camp" beds suitable for children. There are log burners, fire pits and outdoor kitchens. Electricity is available too.
There are a wealth of walks direct from the campsite to a number of local pubs and other attractions. Further down our lane is a cycle path which links to Ilminster, Chard and beyond. The Jurassic Coast (and Lyme Regis) can be reached within 25 minutes.
Knowle Meadow Camping won gold for the New Tourism Business of the Year and silver for Campsite of the Year at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards 2024/25 and silver for Campsite of the Year in 2025/26.

Moorland Holt is a private hideaway nestling in a corner of south east Dartmoor, where a stunning 4m lotus belle tent offers a unique camping experience in a peaceful meadow glade surrounded by woodland, adjacent to open moor. This will be an offgrid experience but with the luxury of a 'proper' toilet and shower.
It is the only unit so you get the whole place to yourself, and the space includes a field kitchen equiped with a gas burner and cold box, along with a firepit for BBQ, campfire cooking, or just toasting marshmallows under Dartmoor's famous night sky.
Moorland Holt is a nature-lovers paradise, home to a wide variety of insects and birds, as well as resident tawny owls, and with fallow, roe and red deer, badgers and foxes regularly passing through. Stoats and lizards have also been known to make an appearance.
Our location is secluded and peaceful, ideal for walkers and those who want to be immersed in the wilds of Dartmoor, but is easy to reach from the A38 (Devon Expressway), and is just 10 minutes from the historic stannery town of Ashburton. It's 15 minutes walk to Buckland Beacon with views to the coast, and stunning night skies, and just 10 minutes walk to Ausewell Wood, one of Dartmoor's rare temperate rainforests ( looked after by the Woodland Trust and English Heritage) which includes wild, rugged wood and heath with dramatic rocky outcrops.
As well as nearby Ashburton, with a 12th century inn and award winning restaurants, just 10 minutes in the opposite direction is the moor town of Widecombe, an ideal destination for a morning's walk and pub lunch.
Landmark tors are also within a 10-minute drive, including one of Dartmoor's most popular attractions Haytor, and neighbouring Hound Tor. The River Dart is 20 minutes drive away, the famous medieval clapper bridge less than half an hour and Devon's stunning coast within 40 minutes drive.
Our Moorland Holt lotus belle tent is kitted out with a standard double bed but an extra air mattress could be added for a third person on request, but please note the site is not suitable for young children. One dog would be welcome but would need to be on a lead or tethered at all times to protect wildlife and livestock as the site is not secure.

Weekend Trip to Forest Edge Camping & Glamping
If you're looking to relax and soak up nature this is a beautiful spot on the edge of the forest. We stayed in a Bell Tent with lovely extras with some nice fruit tea bags and sugar stir sticks. Everything looked brand new.
Very clean showers and toilet blocks - modern and fresh.
Nothing was too much trouble - don't normally camp but I would have been happy for a week with a good book but sadly could only stay one night :-(

We had such an incredible time at Westland farm. The Shepard’s hut was perfect for a stay with two small children. It felt very private, and the gated garden area was perfect for our dog and children.
The views and sunsets were totally stunning, especially with the reservoir in the distance.
We loved the hot tub, a real treat. And our son loved seeing all the farm animals. Couldn’t recommend more!

We had an incredible time here for a couple of nights. So peaceful and secluded, and really comfortable setup to just enjoy nature. We had a stag come really close to us, and the birds were very lively. Out of the lovely woodland it’s set in, there was access to open moorland and the Ten Commandment stones with amazing sunsets. Tina had supplied everything to make the trip easy. Very comfortable bed and a fully functional camping kitchen. Bathroom and shower were great and not far from the tent. Highly recommend!!

Weekend Trip to Westland Farm
My wife and I had an amazing time. The hut is situated in a lovely farm, next to a lovely little stream so you wake up with the peaceful sound of wildlife and the trickling of the stream. The hot tub is a nice touch. A little fire in the hut keeps the place cosy and warm. Will definitely be returning.

5 nights at Moorland Holt (Dartmoor)
Nestled in the heart of a gorgeously wild yet maintained plot of land, the bell tent setup was really convenient, it was close enough to the owners to feel safe and able to ask for anything but far enough to feel independent and surrounded by nature.
Inside the tent were soft beds, big pillows, and a carpeted floor, creating a very comforting space. Thoughtful touches like a small bookshelf and lanterns added a personal touch and made it feel totally welcoming. The toilet, although closer to the owners' home, was better than any camping bathroom I've been to. Throughout our entire stay, the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of crickets made a magical soundtrack, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility.
There are two gorgeous and very different scenic walks that are a very reasonable distance, one being a 360 view of the moors, the other being a circular walk around an ancient woodland. Both are an experience that rejuvenated the soul. My mum and I have been left with a lasting impression of peace and definitely hope to return 🥰

Would highly recommend , we stopped in the safari lodge and had the whole site to our selves kids and dog loved it . lodge was very clean and so was the shower and toilet facilities also has a kitchen what has everything you need if you do forget anything with an honesty box to leave the money in . We was lucky to have a clear night so seeing all the stars at night was amazing also spotted deers in the morning. Very pleased with our stay

Loved everything about the glamping at Lundy! Kitchen better equipped than most glamping experiences I've had- cooking oil, oatly milk, cafatiere, bbq and spare phone charger! My sons also did a 2 hour surf lesson and had an amazing experience on the waves! Loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Recommend

When to go
Summer, especially July and August, is peak season in Dartmoor National Park and popular spots such as Bellever Forest can get crowded—get there early to snag a picnic bench. Forest walks are enjoyable at any time of year, but autumn is particularly beautiful, with its rainbow of fall foliage. Dartmoor weather is notoriously changeable, so bring your raincoat and something warm, even in summer.
Know before you go
- Bellever Forest is located in Dartmoor National Park, a 5-minute drive south of Postbridge. There are pay and display car parks (payment by card only) at Bellever village, by the entrance to the forest, and at Postbridge village, a 1-mile walk.
- Both car parks have restrooms, but there are no other facilities, so bring everything you need with you. The closest village is Postbridge, home to a pub and a few small shops.
- Some walking trails at Bellever Forest are accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
- Dartmoor has free-roaming ponies, sheep, and cattle, and these animals have right of way on moorland roads. There is a strict speed limit of 40 mph throughout. It is a fineable offence to feed any of the animals in the park, and visitors are also advised to keep a distance for their own safety—these are feral animals and may kick or bite.
