Meadowsweet farm is a rustic and peaceful sustainable family farm on the north Devon coast. A five-minute drive to Saunton Sands; 15 minutes to Barnstaple. Communal campfire and portable fire troughs are permitted Close access to the Tarka Trail. This site is a fast-track route back to nature five minutes’ drive from Saunton Sands and 15 minutes from Barnstaple. It's a place where the peace, sea breeze and sustainability mingle together to create a rural camping experience on a small eco-friendly farm. If surfing ranks high on the list for your trip, you’ll be well set with the local swell on several sandy beaches within 20 minutes’ drive. And if walking or cycling is your favourite pursuit, you can head out over the sand dunes (a great setting for watching the sunset) or walk right onto the lengthy Tarka Trail for a self-guided cycling and walking tour over Devon’s cliffs and coves. Friendly guests should find some good chat on site, as social and sensible souls can make use of the communal firepits (with wood available from the farm). And for when you feel like quality family time or gathering in a close-knit group, there are also portable fire troughs. With no electricity, this off-grid site will take you nicely back to basics, with just simple facilities such as toilets, sinks and hot showers on site. When you want to head into town, Braunton (five minutes’ drive) has several restaurants and a supermarket for food and a selection of pubs for a tipple. Surf shops, bike hire and guided nature walks with a local botanist are available too.

I have nothing but good tbings to say about campung at hipcamp. The people running the camp were great; helpful and friendly. The fascilies were more than what anyone would need and maticulously cleaned every day. The surroumding area is a treat too with loads to see and do, for adults and kids alike. Be back soon but will he going for one of the other great looking accomodations they have on offer for a change. Thank you guys.

We stayed at your campsite for three nights and chose a pitch right next to the stream. We absolutely loved it! ❤️ The weather wasn’t on our side, but we actually spent all three days at the campsite without going anywhere, because we felt so comfortable and cosy there. The showers were great, and we really liked the little washing-up area everything was clean, convenient and well thought out. We had such a lovely and relaxing stay and will definitely come back again. We were honestly sad to leave! One thing we were pleasantly surprised about the campsite says there is no internet, but we actually had a really good 5G signal, so we had no problems staying connected at all. Thank you for such a lovely stay! We really enjoyed it. 😊

I made some mistakes on my booking, and Peter was super helpful. He replied really quickly and everything was resolved in under a day. The campsite itself was great. Clean toilets and washing up area, and lots of space to pitch up. I would definitely recommend this campsite!

Archer’s Field sits in a beautiful place close to both coast and countryside offering access to lots of activities. The pitches are large, and campers are free to choose where they camp. I loved being able to walk directly from the campsite (along the Weavers Way) and on to the Blickling Estate.

We had the camping field to ourselves, which was surprising given that we visited during the school summer holidays. Extremely spacious and comfortable! The alpacas do make funny noises at night. There are also exciting bird noises, including owls. The little kitchen shed has a sink and a kettle (yay!), sockets with USB, plus a fridge (not working when we were there). There are two shower cubicles with toilets, and two other separate toilet cubicles, which are also shared with the yurts. There’s no temperature control on the showers, but were mostly warm (a good temperature for a 5-year old) and no issues at all with water pressure (ouch 😂 ). We met a few cleaning and maintenance staff over the week, who were friendly, which I always appreciate. A credit to the campsite. The stream was nice. Sadly, the swimming lake had a leak so was almost empty, which is a shame as it was one of the main attractions of this site for us. The weather forecast was definitely pessimistic as we had lovely weather for most of the week, bar a few showers, despite a yellow weather warning! The location, near Crymych, is close to a few visitor attractions including Castell Henllys Iron Age Village, Cilgerran Castle and Cardigan Castle. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Cardigan; 45 minutes to Fishguard; an hour’s drive to Tenby and Milford Haven; an hour and a quarter to St David’s. Would defnitely recommend. We camped for 5 nights at Archer’s and it was just what we needed. The field is surrounded by trees and the skies were dark enough for fabulous stargazing. The toilets and showers were clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. Peter was very friendly and the whole atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. Quiet, chilled and small site. Clean facilities with nice hot showers. Owner came out to meet new arrivals in the early evening and was v friendly and knowledgeable. There is a fridge and freezer (across road in farmhouse) for campers’ use. Blackberry bushes were a nice bonus. Bus stop for buses to Norwich, Cromer and Sheringham 5 mins walk (honestly so much easier than driving - roads narrow and busy, and car parks full). Farm also sells eggs, and depending on season - whatever they’re growing.

Me and my partner both agree that it's one of the nicest campsites we've ever been to. So, so pretty, clean and abundant facilities, friendly staff and walking distance to a cute town with pub, cafe for brekkie, and anything else you could possibly need. It was also just a 25 minute bus back from Brighton.

5 nights at Smugglers Cove Boatyard

We had an amazing 5 days camping on Angell Pitch at Smugglers’ Cove. The site was easy to find, Sophie was amazing and so helpful and the facilities well maintained and clean. The views over the estuary were absolutely stunning and we enjoyed spotting seals and ospreys from our pitch. We did lots of short walks on the beach and 2 wonderful, long kayaks. The walk to our pitch was slightly longer than we expected but for 5 days definitely worth the effort and adds to the sense of adventure! You also have to walk across the front of the other pitches so I was very glad that we’d booked the last in the row as it was much more private, and a bit bigger too. We’re already planning another visit!

Lovely weekend at Chalk Farm, we had a medium and small tent together on a large pitch. The camping is in a large field, with pitches organised in a row at the top of the field. You are close to your neighbours but have a lovely view across the hills. Nice clean toilets and showers (water temp a bit temperamental) good washing up facilities. Cars are not on site so feels really safe.
