Crafted Camping at Ty’r Felin is a small family-run camping and glamping site on the edge of the land overlooking the sea at the end of the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. It is set in a beautiful old meadow under the wooded hillside of Mynydd Rhiw overlooking the bay of Porth Neigwl or Hell's Mouth, its 4 mile sandy beach and the Cilan headland.
Ty'r Felin is a truly magical place steeped in history that feels like stepping back in time 200 years, to a place where there is no electricity cables, telephone wires, TV aerials, tarmac or street lights.
In this wild and beautiful place, Bob has created a small but beautifully made rustic eco-campsite, a place to come and camp traditional style or to glamp in comfort on the seashore with colourful washing facilities, hot showers and compost toilets.
We offer you the opportunity to get away from everything on a site with no electricity or wi-fi, and to live differently, to tread lightly on this beautiful earth.
We feel very strongly about using resources carefully, and ask guests to use water wisely and recycle everything recyclable.
Here there is space to breathe, be free, run around and relax, and just a 5 minute walk down the track from the camping field is the rocky sea shore and a little cove where you can swim, paddle, crab or snorkle, kayak, fish, surf or paddle board. You do need to bring your own equipment.
The seashore at Ty'r Felin is a great place for bird watching and looking out for dolphins. Brett from Top Cat Marine Safaris runs boat trips from the cove, to go fishing or wildlife watching.
Just across the road is the National Trust house, garden and cafe at Plas yn Rhiw, and there are 2 other cafes within a mile, one nextdoor at Treheli and Caffi Top Cat 1 mile up the hill in Rhiw where Brett and Nia serve local seafood and delicious cakes.
Porth y Swnt visitor centre in the cove village of Aberdaron is 3 miles away, Plas glyn y weddw art gallery and cafe in Llanbedrog is 8 miles, Abersoch is 9 miles, and Pwllheli and its supermarkets is 12 miles. There are lots of beaches and rocky cliffs in the area and a stunning coastal path.

We loved staying here the view was unbelievable fantastic moonlight across the bay every evening was a big hilight . Very calm and beautiful site so restful for the soul. Just the sounds of the sea and birds . Really would recommend this spot .

We had an amazing 5 days camping on Angell Pitch at Smugglers’ Cove. The site was easy to find, Sophie was amazing and so helpful and the facilities well maintained and clean. The views over the estuary were absolutely stunning and we enjoyed spotting seals and ospreys from our pitch. We did lots of short walks on the beach and 2 wonderful, long kayaks. The walk to our pitch was slightly longer than we expected but for 5 days definitely worth the effort and adds to the sense of adventure! You also have to walk across the front of the other pitches so I was very glad that we’d booked the last in the row as it was much more private, and a bit bigger too. We’re already planning another visit!

We were so fortunate to have a clear night of star gazing and dolphins watching in the morning!
The site was clean and fairly quiet and there was a short walk down to the beach which was almost entirely our own.
An amazing stay, genuinely trying to plan another for longer before the summer ends!

3 nights at Smugglers Cove Boatyard
The view from the Boy John is beautiful, watching the tide come and go is very relaxing, listening to the birds and watching shoals of fish and crabs in the water. We even enjoyed waving to the train drivers as they slowed down when they passed. Watching shooting stars from the top deck late at night, what more could you ask for?

Weekend Trip to Plas yn Llangoed
Honestly, can’t recommend this campsite enough. The views were absolutely stunning, the warm croissants and fresh coffee in the morning were delicious and all the facilities were absolutely fantastic.
We had a bell tent so had lots of space and a lovely plot. Thank you for having us, will 100% be back!

We loved staying at this beautiful site. Such a gorgeous place with stunning scenery. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were superb. We travelled by train and bus, so we were very glad we could use the fridge in the cabin for our millk. We went on some fabulous day trips and have fallen in love with the area. One of the best UK campsites I've ever stayed in (and I've been to many of them). We will definitely be going back there!

I pitched camp in the non-electric area, which is at the far end of the slightly sloping site. It was quiet and afforded some lovely views. Water point is 50m away, on the way to the facilities. Warm welcome from the hostess. Would recommend.

A beautiful campsite in a very peaceful location! We had a lovely time here. The showers and toilets were very clean and the shower water was warm. The location is close to Beaumaris and Conwy for day trips but also nestled in a quiet area - with secret beaches and walks to explore. Em the owner was very friendly with a little cafe open in the morning - and lots of vegan options which is much appreciated!

Absolutely fantastic campsite! The pitch was amazing, and being able to jump in for a swim when the tide was in made the experience even more special. The facilities were excellent, clean, and had everything we needed. Walking through the boatyard to reach the pitch was such a unique touch it gave the whole place a rustic, authentic charm that you just don’t find at most campsites. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
