At 1200 metres elevation it is often colder than the surrounding areas and sometimes very foggy.
A second site is available near our house at the "hayshed".
Let's say you're travelling between Bega and Cooma or Bombala, it's getting late and you need a spot to spend the night which is safe and you can plug into power. Next morning buy some fresh eggs, have breakfast, check your vehicle over, top up a bit of water and back to the main highway in a few minutes.

Our property is just 25 minutes from Canberra City but feels a world away, and offers a peaceful country paradise and wide open spaces.
We have several sites for 100% self-contained campers, where you'll be spoilt with
spectacular
views of the Tinderry Mountains, access to undulating walking trails,
and the Namadgi National Park nearby. On clear nights,
the stars here are spellbinding.
We have many animals here too!
View our placid Scottish Galloway cattle (currently with calves!) pat our friendly poddy Cody and grab a photo opportunity.
We also have a beautiful horse Ali and her yearling colt diesel, just watch your fingers with him, gelded now but still thinks he’s a stallion.
5 fat Dorper sheep look like running rugs running around. A real country experience!
An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm.
The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners.
The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south.
Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message.
As one of our many happy Hipcamp guests have said the photos don’t do the views justice, they are truely spectacular:)

Our property lies in the hinterland of Bermagui and features partially cleared, rolling hills and mountains of bush. Pets and kids are welcome. We own friendly dogs. We are rebuilding after the bushfires.
You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower. The campsite has access to drinking water. No bins here please take your rubbish with you.
Enjoy hanging around the campfire, cooking a meal or toasting marshmallows. We have firewood available.
You dont need a 4WD to access the campsite. Vehicle and tent campers welcome. We are located about 30 minutes to the coast and the township of Bermagui. It's a good spot for fishing, prospecting, swimming, cafes and adventures, and you can get all the supplies you need in town.
You are welcome to bring dirt bikes and boats to use in the region.

Room to explore, with close access to walking trails, lots of wildlife including some very stubborn wombats, kangaroos and lots of birds, lizards, and friendly horses that will do anything for carrots. Its far enough out of town for complete silence, but only 30 minutes back into town. Close to Googong Dam (which is great for fishing, kayaking, walking). Dog friendly so the whole family can visit.

Best, friendliest hosts you could ever hope to meet. Outstanding people. I overpayed them $10 and although I told them to keep it when they offered a refund, they gave me a bunch of fresh eggs anyway. They couldn't do enough to help out. Awesome spot about 1050 metres above sea level. Great phone reception (Telstra). Water refill, electric hook up available. Give them a go as they are relatively new to this and deserve your support.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Claudia!
We came late in the evening, yet was still standing ready to greet us. There were hammocks ready and everything.
She even told us about her farm and that her cows had just had a baby!!
10/10 would recommend.
The views were breathtaking as well.

After a drive down a beautiful track spotting animals- deer, kangas, birds we pulled into camp and felt so welcomed. Great spot on top of the hill with stunning views, we were offered fresh eggs, and power for the night. Highly recommend

Michael and his family were super welcoming and accommodating. We were met with a carton of eggs and escorted to our campsite to which was clean and comfortable. Michael provided us with a map which allowed us to freely explore on our motorcycles. Would definitely recommend staying here and will absolutely be back.

I enjoyed camping here, close to Canberra and offering a great view of the valley. Spectacular in the morning. I missed the entrance to the property It is not a full driveway as such but pretty easy to find and not far off the hiway.
No facilities but that's why I go there. Host was lovely. 'Hammock was actually very relaxing.

We had an amazing stay at Michelago HILLDYKE, a charming 160-year-old farm. The campsite was absolutely beautiful, with a variety of site options to choose from. We opted for the 360-degree view site, perfect for stargazing, and it exceeded our expectations. Claudia was a fantastic host, always responsive and accommodating, which made our experience even better. A highlight of our stay was the delightful visit from the friendly cows and horses, adding a special touch to the serene atmosphere.
