My partner and I really enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful and private cabin, the bathrooms were clean and close, and the owner of the ranch, Hamlet, was incredibly hospitable. We loved the town of Springville--it was small and charming, and the locals were friendly. We stopped by the restaurants for a cold drink and some air conditioning when it hit 95 degrees.
We arrived and were not greeted by the host, but instead by a young person working the wedding that was happening. Be aware, there are weddings on the property and they can get loud and go as late as 11:30pm (it is definitely a gorgeous place to have a wedding though!!). Likewise, there is a freeway through the trees as well that can be loud.
The river and swimming hole were not as pictured--the river was more of a trickling creek due to drought and the swimming hole was shallow and filled with algae. Don't plan to swim to keep cool, but do know you can ask for ice near the bathrooms. Also: bring some bug spray! The cabin was cozy but very buggy and we were glad we had our own as the one provided was empty.
Hamlet and his friends treated us to some amazingly tasty BBQ and showed us around the property. His genuine hospitality, along with the coziness and privacy of the cabin and the nice town nearby made it a trip worth taking!
Things I wish I knew beforehand!: They provide a small battery powered fan and a lantern. The cabin is much bigger than the pictures make it seem. Even though it gets hot, it's bearable.
