Explore the wreck of an 1812-era gunboat, try on a costume and take part in military drill, witness a cannon firing, savour period treats cooked over an open fire, or play games from long ago.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Fort Wellington National Historic Site is between early September and mid-October, when the site is open from Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm. This period avoids the peak summer crowds while offering pleasant weather for outdoor exploration.
