We really enjoyed our visit to Shelley's yurt! The Mongolian Yurt is spacious, well-lit, and has comfortable bedding. Everything that you need is at the property, and Shelley even helped us to bring our baggage into the yurt. What a pleasant and informative lady who cares about conservation and the wildlife on the property. The little brook just beside the outdoor kitchen was a highlight, and the cooking was easy and fun with the flat grill and BBQ! We loved having very dry firewood and a chiminea that was beautiful and lit up easily. Starry nights at the yurt made it extra special, and the forest remoteness was appreciated when all that you hear is the brook, birds' calls, and silence! There are also several trails on the grounds that lead you through the forests and fields. The hike into the yurt was very short, and she provided a cart and wheelbarrow to help. You honestly do not need to bring more than food and clothing. There is solar lighting, solar fans, pure water, a cooler, and firewood (for $10). We didn't use the outdoor shower as the mornings were a little chilly, but you can have a hot shower in nature!! We will definitely return to the Tree Frog Retreat when we visit Presquile Provincial Park and the many hiking trails in the area. Be aware that some trails are closed due to the ice storm this Spring. Thank you, Shelley, for the delightful visit and your prompt responses. The yurt and property were very clean and cared for! My heart was very full!

Treefrog Retreat
Wow, what an amazing place Shelley has built. Truly a dream — the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell anyone about for fear it will be booked up forever! The yurt is super comfy, the outdoor kitchen is stocked with everything you’d need, the outhouse and outdoor shower are new and clean, and the stream rolling by the site to make everything feel extra calm. Our dog has never been happier. Highly recommended!

Treefrog Retreat was everything we hoped for and more! Just a under 2 hours from Toronto, it was the perfect escape from city life. The traditional Mongolian yurt is tucked away in a stunning forest, with a peaceful stream nearby that made the whole experience feel incredibly tranquil and private.
The yurt itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed. You can really tell care was put into making it comfortable while still keeping that off-the-grid charm. Shelley was a fantastic host—super welcoming, kind, and accommodating.
This spot is a hidden gem for anyone looking to unplug, reconnect with nature, and just breathe. We’ll definitely be back and have already been recommending it to friends and family!

Treefrog Retreat
We had the most incredible stay at tree frog retreat! What a magical spot to escape the everyday busy life and unwind. Set in a picturesque setting, we thoroughly enjoyed our fall camping experience in a traditional Mongolian yurt. It was super cozy with the propane heater, beautiful outdoor kitchen set up and multiple trails to hike. Us and our 3 little ones had an incredible weekend retreat 😊

Treefrog Retreat
We had the perfect fall getaway in this off-grid, traditional Mongolian yurt, tucked away in a private 30-acre forest. Surrounded by stunning woodlands and a peaceful stream, it was the ideal spot to reconnect with nature. The yurt was well-maintained and came with plenty of thoughtful amenities. Even when it rained a bit, it only added to the cozy, atmospheric experience. Shelley, the host, was amazing—welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring. We highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled escape!

Treefrog Retreat
It was an amazing relaxant time in the Wood at the tree frog retreat. The quiet and the vast forest around was so nice to enjoy. The host Shelley is really sweet and she help us to take our stock to the tent at arrival and when we left. The mongolian tent was really beautiful and we slept well. I really recommend that place 100%. Thank you for everything.

I loved staying on Shelley's land at the Treefrog Retreat! The property, yurt and trails were so beautiful and peaceful! Shelley is so kind and accommodating!
