Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Remotely located lakeside trailer near Ignace, ON. Approximately an hour’s drive off Trans-Canada Highway 17 on rocky, and sometimes difficult, bush roads (24–25 miles / 38–40 km). Extra caution is advised for low-clearance vehicles. Once you book, you will be provided with the exact GPS location and detailed directions to the site. Experience off-grid living with solar power. Enjoy great fishing opportunities, beaches, exploring nature, or simply unwind by the fire pit.You will be staying in a 1998 Mallard 5th wheel trailer that is placed in a permanent spot. You have a deck beside the trailer, a fire pit (firewood costs extra or bring your own) and picnic table. There is an outhouse next to the trailer if you want an authentic off grid experience! (There is a flush camper toilet inside the bathroom and a bath w/shower.) There is ample parking space to park in the yard, choose wherever. It's a short walk to the lake, just across the yard. Bring your own boat if you like or talk to my husband about renting one of his. Bring your own life jackets, fishing gear, anything you might need or want to go camping. Bring your own sleeping bags and your favorite pillows if you like. There are some linens provided; the queen bed is made with fitted sheet, flat sheet, comforter, 2 pillows with pillow cases. Twin bunks are made with a mattress cover, comforter, a pillow on each with pillow cases. Twin sheets are available in the closet to use if you like, but it's hard to make those beds - sleeping bags are best for these bunks. The trailer has running hot water, filtered drinking water, electricity, propane stove, electric fridge and propane bbq to use. The kitchen is supplied with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, fresh ground coffee and percolator, linens for queen bed + 2 bunks and cleaning supplies. Feel free to use our yard to play in. There are 2 swings and a trampoline to use but children must be supervised. Just be respectful of our property and the neighbours' properties and enjoy being surrounded by nature! This is the bush. We are DEEP in the forest where the BUGS ARE TOUGH and the wildlife roams freely. It is like going to a fly-in fishing place without having to fly in!
