Natalie's bunkie is a truly magical place! The cabin itself is so cozy and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you could need all season round, from practical supplies like cutlery and cookware and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on cool autumn nights to board games and paperback books and even a portable DVD player for makeshift movie screenings, if you can peel your eyes away from the view of the starry night sky. The bunkie sits on a scenic body of water and a waterfall that make for great canoeing and swimming or admiring over morning coffee, and the rest of Natalie's property is bursting with whimsical art installments as well as gardens, fire pits, fairy lights, and fields of flowers. My partner and I have visited twice - in the summer and the in the fall - and have found each season and each stay so uniquely gorgeous and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the noise of the world, the bunkie is perfect. Natalie is so warm and welcoming and has put so much care and attention into providing people with a home away from home.

I want come back

Hi all! We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Super cute and cozy cabin; the host even put a little fire in the wood stove, so we’d have a warm first night. We scored with the view and I scored with a kindred spirit who owns this beautiful land. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Divine.

This was my first Hipcamp experience, and Natalie has set the bar extremely high. She is a fantastic host - wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The Heron Bunkie was immaculate, and had everything you could need including a great little fridge, lights, a small wood stove (and wood), comfy bed and little touches like coffee (plus a coffee maker with filters) and ice cubes ready to go. The setting was lovely, despite the drier than normal conditions - peaceful. Multiple blue heron sightings, too, and a mystery critter in the pond. (She supplies binoculars!) Having coffee sitting on the generous deck was a treat, as was dinners prepared on the bbq. Amazingly, there were very few mosquitoes, so sitting outside to read or have a beverage was truly enjoyable. Being away from any city, the stargazing was stellar, too. My pup was made to feel really welcome, and she started to look for Natalie daily. All in all, a lovely, relaxing experience. Thank you so much, Natalie. You're the best. Not a surprise that Ginny didn't want to get out of the car when we got home!

Blue Heron Bunky

My husband and I and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The bunky was very cozy. The view was amazing. And lounging by the falls was great. Natalie is a pleasure to talk to and I would definitely recommend and would definitely book again. Natural Beauty and Great Host!

Camping on Natalie's land was so peaceful and she had so many lovely little touches that made it so enjoyable! The sites were private and had many conveniences that made my stay easier. The kitchen tent and table, the bar b q, the shower... little sitting areas and hammocks placed around the property, firepits... Honestly the whole experience was delightful 😊

Sweet little Bunkie

Beautiful spot, extremely welcoming host who makes you feel like family, beautiful HOT out door shower, fun and eclectic decor all over and use of anything on the property such as kayaks, fishing rods, fire pits etc We absolutely loved our stay and will come back in the future. One small thing to note that I didn't notice in other reviews is mention of proximity. The Bunkie, where we stayed, is next to Natalie's (host) house. It is still private and Natalie is completely respectful of your space but if you're hoping to find a completely secluded and isolated spot, this may not be the ideal spot for you. It was not a problem for us, but for the sake of full transparency we felt it was worth noting. Lots of trails, clear water and a small waterfall that you can sit right in. Charming little town near by. Thank you Natalie for sharing your spot with the world 🩷

Exactly as advertised!

My wife and 3 young kids wanted a fun and comfortable camping experience and Cabin in the Woods was exactly as advertised! The place was beautiful, private and clean. My kids wanted to try fishing for the first time and Natalie bought 3 brand new kids' fishing rods for them to use during our stay. We were blown away by the hospitality!!! Seeing the excitement on my kids' faces when they caught their very first bass ALMOST justified the last year of chauffeuring them around and putting up with all their screaming. Thank you Natalie! We also enjoyed the swimming holes, small waterfalls and watching the frogs hop around. Having a warm shower, sitting by a private fire and quietly watching the stars at night capped off the perfect days. We'll be definitely coming back!

Wonderful experience

We had a great weekend on Natalie’s beautiful property at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Natalie was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we could need. The view from the front porch was gorgeous, overlooking the pond. We saw blue herons flying by during the day and gorgeous fireflies at night. We will absolutely be coming back.

Boot Hill site

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boot Hill site. Short walk to the river where we swam was so refreshing during our 30C+ weather! Access to a hot water outdoor shower is beyond the norm and such a game changer before heading to the tent at night. Natalie is an awesome, thoughtful host. She has a tucked away spot in trees for tent placement in shade, and has a screened dining tent with table and chairs. This was our 3rd year, and already looking forward to our next visit.

Amazing and relaxing

Had an amazing time here! Natalie is an amazing host with an amazing property. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend fishing and kayaking, enjoying the view, and walking through the beautiful forest. Remember to bring bug spray to this camp as you are centered around some lovely wildflower bushes where many bugs have made their home. Natalie went above and beyond with the camps set up including separate areas for tent, kitchen, and fire, not to mention a private bathroom and a fully functioning shower that she built herself.

I loved staying at field of dreams! The site was so beautiful and I was so grateful for all the amenities the host provided, especially the dining tent which was great in the middle of deerfly season. The land was beautiful and I was very close to town. Would definitely stay again!

We loved the bunkie on Natalie's land. It was so peaceful, we could hear the babbling Brooke constantly, and the swimming in the Brooke was just wonderful. My friend and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it.

Perfect Camping spot!!

My son and I really loved tent camping here. It's private and peaceful. You really feel like your alone in nature. Its not like provencial parks where you look over and see other tents and people. Here you look around and its beautiful fields, and trees. There's even fireflies at night! Natalie made us feel welcomed. When we arrived she showed us to our campsite and showed us around. She's really kind and a joy to talk to! The picnic table area is an actual table with chairs with and screened in tent around it. It made our stay even more comfortable! I highly recommend camping here on Boot Hill! 😀 My son asked me to add to make sure you bring something for the bugs haha 😄 There's quite a bit of bugs, like mosquitoes deer flys and horse flys. But that comes with camping. We set up a Thermacell near the bathroom area and kept that running mainly in the early evening up until we went to bed. It helped to keep the mosquitoes away while your trying to do your business haha.

What a wonderful couple days! Natalie is super inviting and knowledgeable about different plants and flowers around her property and has done a great job with all the sites. She included quite a few amenities such as a place to cook, chairs around the fire, hammocks, a screen tent with table and chairs, some stuff like that and that is on all sites too! At night, the place absolutely comes alive! There were more fireflies than I have ever seen anywhere, hundreds! It truly was a magical sight to see them in the grass, fields, trees, everywhere! Also, Natalie has included lights all over the property that are equally as special and fun. Being at the front of the property, it's awesome to be able to hang out by the waterfall and swim in the creek below it. Thank you Natalie for a wonderful experience!

Camping like glampers!

Beautiful set up. There was so much care that Natalie puts into each campsite that it almost feels like glamping! There is a large screen tent with a dining table and chairs, a kitchen area with a charcoal grill and a small grill that had a full tea kettle waiting for me! Then there was a campfire area that had muskoka chairs. We didn't need half the things we bring for camping due to her set up. The creek was shallow and nice for the heat wave we experienced while there. The only downfall were the deer flies...they were intense!

Very thoughtful campsite

We had such an awesome time tent camping on Natalie's land! We stayed on the Field of Dreams site, and it was just perfect! Lots of space for the kiddo and the dog to run around, and Natalie did a great job of keeping the grass on the campsite short. She had set up a "kitchen tent" for us (a bug free zone was very much appreciated!), and had a nice little cooking corner with some various bbqs we could use. I definitely recommend bringing "deep woods" insect repellent! Natalie was very accommodating and friendly, and we had a ton of fun exploring her property and the rest of the town! We will DEFINITELY be back!!

Absolutely peaceful and calm - this was how to describe my stay with Natalie. The water and rapids were breathtaking and I can see why whitewater rafting training takes place here on Beaver Creek. There is a compost potty on each site and ours had an addition of lovely trilliums in bloom around the entrance; an outdoor shower with hot water and lots of woods and trails to wander in and about. Gather fallen tree branches and pieces for your fire pit, this is a great version of rough glamping! Natalie provides a screen shelter too on your site so meals can be had without buzzing in your ears of the ubiquitous black flies (they come with every camping trip). Natalie is a host that takes her role to heart, she stops by to check if everything is okay; shares wisdom about the property and surrounding area and even texts you when she is going into town in case you need something, she is more than happy to pick up. I can't wait to book another stay on Natalies land - my soul has been restored and rejuvenated. Added bonus was hearing owls hooting at each other at night and being seranaded by coyotes on my last night. Thank you so much, MaryLou, Michael and Lucy!

A Space to Heal

I was looking for a space in nature to take time for myself and connect with my soul and I saw Natalie’s listing and my heart said yes. I was so glad I did, I received what I needed and more! Camping with family!

I loved the campsite we booked at cabin in the woods: site 1:Boot camp, you could see nature. Hear nature, plus the falls that wasn’t too far where we stayed. Gorgeous views and scenery overall.
