Learn more about this land:This campsite is pretty much raw land and a very peaceful and serene environment. There is an area where a bonfire can be made and there are also nicely mowed grassy open areas. ATVs can be ridden respectfully as long as there is no destroying the land or making mud holes. We will add this later in the progression of our site. This campground area will be a place to get away and unplug from all the digital world by relaxing with the basics.

Overview

About

Centrally located between Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson Mississippi (about a 90 minute drive from either), Hugh White State Park offers outdoor recreation in a place whose beauty is rarely matched.

Grenada Lake is tops for crappie fishermen, but is also well-stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. There is unrestricted water skiing on the 64,000-acre freshwater lake, but with all the coves, inlets, waters below the dam, it’s unlikely to disrupt a peaceful afternoon. Water levels are controlled by the US Army Corp of Engineers, so if you’re curious about current water levels, head here. The Dogwood Golf Course is another option to shake some rust off your game. It’s a championship 18-hole course with rolling fairways that lead to large, inviting greens.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Hugh White State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its peak. Summer months can be warm, making early morning or late afternoon the best times for outdoor activities. Winters are quieter, offering a peaceful escape, though some amenities may be limited.
