Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. Two hours from NYC, close to skiing (hunter mountain/ Windham , Kaaterskill falls, Woodstock, Hudson, Saugerties. FAQ Is my rental secluded? Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

We are a safe place for women who are traveling alone. We ensure everyone's quiet experience by not publishing our actual address. Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you. It is dark at 5pm so early check in is critical. We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. Fires: We allow small fires in specific spots, namely the fire ring at Camping on Blueberry Hill, at Ft Sky and inside the Tipi. Campsite fires are allowed weather permitting, when it's not windy and must be kept small. If it's windy then you can still have a fire in the tipi. No large fires or bonfires. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Winter is coming soon. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm! Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please. Partying: Nope not us. Our farm is peaceful and quiet and so are our neighbors. Please party elsewhere and come here to relax in the blissful quiet of nature. Quiet music, just playing some Spotify tunes and acoustic musicians are welcome here. There's a great bar restaurant 5 minutes from us, "17 Cherry Plain Sq". Live music, great food and something like 40 beers on tap. Party there then chill out here with us. Breakfast and the best beef this side of the Mississippi can be found at Gardners Cafe and Icecream Shop only 5 miles up 22 South from our place. You can enjoy a big fat omelet with homefries and bacon then grab frozen hamburg and steaks from Gardner's own local beef grown wild and free outside. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash. This is a pack in and pack out working farm not a party spot. Renting from us constitutes your reading of our rules attached to each property, your understanding and your agreement of our policies. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

We are a safe place for women who are traveling alone. We ensure everyone's quiet experience by not publishing our actual address. Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you. It is dark at 5pm so early check in is critical. We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. Fires: We allow small fires in specific spots, namely the fire ring at Camping on Blueberry Hill, at Ft Sky and inside the Tipi. Campsite fires are allowed weather permitting, when it's not windy and must be kept small. If it's windy then you can still have a fire in the tipi. No large fires or bonfires. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Winter is coming soon. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm! Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please. You can enjoy a big fat omelet with homefries and bacon then grab frozen hamburg and steaks from Gardner's own local beef grown wild and free outside. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.

Perfect for a weekend escape from the city. The cabin was spacious and spotless, and the restroom was well-maintained. No service, water, or electricity, but firewood was ready for us, and the nights under the stars were amazing. Plus one of the best swimming ponds in all of the Catskills! There are three sites: one tucked into a meadow in a forest clearing, another under a hemlock grove deeper in the woods, and a third reserved for Long Path thru-hikers who come down from the mountains for a break, which can also be overflow. All are off-grid and rustic but close enough to the house and parking area to have convenience, and far enough—and hidden out of view—to offer real privacy. (About a 4-minute walk from your shared toilet/supply/storage shed by driveway.) Tent area has cleared flat pads for two small tents. Location is far enough from things that you can walk a minute into the woods and feel lost to civilization, yet only two miles of paved road from downtown Windham and all that the cozy resort town has to offer. Makes a great basecamp for exploring the rest of the Northern Catskills, or a hideaway to stay and get lost in. Hike miles of trails and old logging roads in the Elm Ridge Wild Forest, starting literally steps from your campsite. Swim in the large spring-fed pond, or just watch the colorful koi swim. Sit around the fire and reflect on the day’s adventures. Or just take in the wide-open views of distant mountains and starry skies. Unplug, unwind, and recharge amongst 250 acres of private property conservation forest at our peaceful waterfall campsite in a secluded 3-acre meadow . Just off the NY Scenic Byway County Route 16, there is tons of space for larger groups. A New York favorite. Greet the morning sun from your tent as it rises above High Peak. Surrounded by the Indian Head Wilderness peaks, you'll enjoy the cool mountain air at night and stunning views all day long. Hike the trails and then dip in the creek when you get back. This campsite is equipped with a single Queen-sized cot with air mattress, woodstove, portable camp toilet, solar heated sun shower. Bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. Drive-up access requires SUV-type clearance for the creek crossings. For easier 2 wheel access check out my other 5-star secluded campsite- Schoharie Creekside Tent. Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Colgate Lake. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Seriously, do keep a very clean camp. Do ask questions about local activities- swimming holes, hiking, etc. Please take all trash with you, leave no trace!

Welcome to Camp Canon. A small site situated at the base of a natural cliff line tucked away in wooded lands, surrounded by hundreds of undeveloped acres. 10 minutes from Lake Taghkanic State park and 20 minutes from Bash Bish, this camp is literally centrally located in Columbia County. 15 minutes drive north and you’ll be at the highest waterfall in the county; High Falls in Philmont. Privacy is key. Our rescue doggy Roxxie will undoubtedly stop over for a visit as our residence is about a hundred yards away nearby undetectable. You’ll hear some echos from traffic off the TSP but it sounds like wind or running water since there’s no commercial traffic allowed on that road.

Secluded Farm Camp with Views is tucked away under apple trees surrounded by open fields and mountain views and hundreds of acres of unoccupied state land that is open to hiking and recreation. The camp is located on a permaculture homestead and plant nursery with a developing pick-your-own fruit farm. We are just getting started with the fruit and berries, but there are chickens, geese and guinea hens for your amusement. Located near the village of Stamford NY there is an accessible fire tower above us with awesome views, plus cafes in town and farm stands and markets nearby. A fire ring, firewood, grill and running water from our spring is included. Other things to note Your campsite is nestled under an oasis of shade trees between sprawling meadow and mountain views. Guests will have access to a composting toilet and a cold shower (solar shower soon!). Fresh eggs and produce from the garden are available in season. We can also do tours of the farm and/or wild plant identification walks if desired. We are not far from the Catskill Rail Trail.

Our campground is located along the BattenKill river. We are surrounded by mountains and the majority of our campsites are right along the river. The property has two waterfalls one with a cold hole for swimming or bathing. We cater to tent and RV camping. We offer tent, paddle board kayak rental rentals. We have over 36 acres of river front property. we also have train tracks that run right through the middle. The train tracks have not been operational for a long time so they are good for hiking. You can come by to enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, and many more.
