Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Everything about this place was perfect for us! It was easy to find, private and clean. Our site was right on the water with a fire pit and a picnic table. The outhouse was impeccably cleaned and close to our site. We had access to kayaks and a canoe however, we didn't end up having time to use them. Hayley was extremely responsive and friendly. We definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area!

Lisa's property was amazing! Lots of room, beautiful view of everything. Saw deer every day! Loved the outhouse, we are used to privies at Algonquin but the outhouse was way better - especially with the rain we had. 2 nights at Coutts Farm

This was one of our favourite Hipcamps. The lake was busier than we are used to but it was a long weekend so totally expected. We appreciated the private feel of the campsite being nestled in our little corner and we customized the site with tarp shelters and a hammock to lay about in the afternoons. The night sky was gorgeous with the moon and the sound of waves to keep us company. One should keep in mind that there are elevation changes at the site that could prove challenging for some. I was able to portage our canoe down to the water and back up to our vehicle but the pitch through the trees and down to the beach could prove tricky. Overall, we liked the secluded, civilized-rustic feel of the space: not Crown Land but sounds of the forest gave it a wild feel.

There was more perks then listed in the ad we were grateful for the levelled deck platform for the tent and the provided barbecue , although we didn’t need it ! Was a nice extra ! We had site 3, with excellent access to the water and a site that was just the right size for two tents and a dining shelter, as well as two cars. We had the place to ourselves, but we did meet the hosts and their family who ensured all was up to standard. Portable toilet was serviced while we stayed, and was nice and clean. Very convenient to have 3 kayaks, a canoe, with safety equipment, paddles, and PFDs available. Site 3 had a sandy, mid-shin beach area that led to the lake which was a typical lake bottom. Water in the bay was a bit iron coloured. We enjoyed swimming and paddling around! A great stay!! Thanks!

Weekend Trip to Muskoka Wellness Retreat

We stayed at Site 3 at Muskoka Wellness Retreat in Huntsville to celebrate a birthday with friends, and it was such a wonderful experience. The site had plenty of space for multiple tents and a dining tent, which made our stay super comfortable. We especially loved the easy access to the water — sandy bottom, great for swimming, and our dogs had an absolute blast splashing around. The bathroom was clean, the bugs were manageable, and even though there was a fire ban, we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere made for a really relaxing and fun weekend. Our host, Haylee, was responsive, kind, and made sure everything went smoothly. We’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-kept campsite in Muskoka. We can’t wait to come back!

The views are spectacular any time of day!!! Lisa is a friendly, flexible host who took the time to take the children to visit the cows and their guard donkey. You can enjoy the gorgeous water especially if you throw in a kayak to skirt over the weeds and algae, that are bursting with freshwater mussels, btw! We did this and enjoyed a successful evening of fishing, swimming and paddling! The set up is perfect! Even the outhouse comes with a view and is interesting condition!

Weekend Trip to Muskoka Wellness Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Site 3 was exactly what we were hoping for—private, with direct water access. Even with a total fire ban in place, it didn’t affect our experience at all. We simply planned our meals accordingly to stay within regulations. While the site itself is private, the lake is not. There was some boat traffic during the day, likely due to buoys set up for water skiing. Early mornings and late evenings were much quieter, which is to be expected on a larger, more populated lake. It didn’t stop us from enjoying swims or taking our canoe out on the water. An outhouse located between Site 3 and the group camping area was very convenient. When we first arrived, it was a bit dirty, but another camper had contacted the owner and it was cleaned within the hour—such a quick and impressive response! My only critique is more personal than anything. I was hoping for the complete serenity of a quiet retreat, and our first night certainly delivered that. However, things changed when a large group arrived at the group camping site, and the noise continued into the next morning, making it harder to sleep. Of course, that’s not the owner’s fault, and it wouldn’t stop me from booking again—though I’d hope for a quieter group next time. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful lake retreat with us, and for being such a responsive and friendly host!

Lisa was a great host and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The site was in a great location on a lake and far enough from the other campsite that it felt private. The picnic table and outhouse on site were nice to have.
