Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave. Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge. This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush. We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter. Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. This was a magical and tranquil camping escape. The waterfront spot was perfectly quiet and peaceful. The clear skies and zero light pollution provided phenomenal stargazing nightly. Chris was very generous host. He provided us an abundant and complimentary supply of firewood. It made our evenings effortless and cozy. We will definitely return!

Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks. We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars! The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire. Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled No doubt, will be back.

We had a great stay at the cabin! Our dogs got to hangout off leash with no worries of others being around. Nice and quiet. Easy to find and the host was very easy to get a hold of. Tons of spots to hang hammocks and pitch tents. The small towns around are also fun to explore.

We really enjoyed our trip. My kids had a great time adventuring around the forest, the property was clean. It was a great break from the big city. Just what we needed. No outside noise, pure isolation. Rick was great to deal with and we will be back. We plan to check out the airplane cabin next year. We popped up a tent and camped it one night just for fun. We felt super safe and comfortable. We can’t wait to try a winter trip! The sleeping arrangements was good, however It would have been a lot better if there was a railing on the bunk above the door and on the bunk bed. It would make it more accessible for families with young children. We ended up bringing an air mattress for the floor which worked great for us. Thank you for you for hosting us.

Excellent campsite, the river access is a great spot with stairs going down. Do wear good water shoes for the large rocks. We made a raft of four donuts and floated down the river to the conservation site. Very fun, the trek up river was a task as the river seems slow when going down. Have fun! Next to the field we saw lots of butterflies and stars!

We were lucky to have the space to ourselves while we were there, Chris is very nice and accommodating. There is one small site that is secluded and close to the water with shade all day, but the rest are more open with no division between campers. The river was awesome and so nice to have to so close to our site, we went many times in the day. We brought our dog who LOVES to swim and he had a blast swimming against the current. The current is strong, so fun to walk up and float back, it’s rocky so bring water shoes, lots of crayfish to watch. There is even a small space by the river to bring chairs. All in all we had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Forest Oasis Camping Resort

Solid no-frills campsite 10 minutes from Wasaga Beach. Salman greeted me when I arrived (almost 11pm) and gave me directions to my spot. If you have a nicer sedan than mine you might be a bit nervous taking the access road to the campsite I had, but the privacy is stellar. My dog had a great time off-leash. Overall a great spot to eat and sleep between beach days.

We had a great weekend away on Chris’s private oasis! He situated us right on the water in a lovely shady spot, which was a huge bonus! He made it so personable which I loved, he even brought our kids a home made wood speaker so we could enjoy some tunes! He checked in on us and was a fantastic host. We can’t wait to return!

The site is quiet and tranquil. We almost went by it as the road into the green cabin is hidden, but Rick came out on his side by side to show us where it was. We didn’t really explore at all, as the weather was defiantly uncooperative, but there appears to be trails all over so if your into exploring, it would be nice for sure. The cabin is a good size. A futon bunk bed, can fit 2 on bottom and child on top. And there is a loft, that could fit 1 guest, although it does not have a railing, so not a chance I’d sleep there! Lol! The cabin was 4 walls, which we needed as the weather was not great. It did have a slight smell of urine when we first got there, but after having the windows open, it seemed to be ok. There are coyotes around, as we could hear them early AM, but did not see any animals ar all. The outhouse was fine, nothing exciting, just the way an outhouse should be. Overall, the experience was good and the host was extremely responsive and helpful and did not bother us the entire time. I would 100% recommend for a very peaceful getaway!
