This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave. Please respect this piece of land as much as we do. ~Hope you enjoy your time on the Sunshine Coast

Come unwind in Lucinda the Bigfoot, located in the luscious urban-countryside of the Fraser Valley. Tastefully decorated and thoughtfully furnished, Lucinda is a small 1984 Bigfoot fiberglass trailer, her updated interior nods graciously at her charming, vintage past. Relax in lawn chairs under an airy canopy, light the fire bowl, and listen to the singing birds in the morning and peeping frogs at night. Lucinda is conveniently located in Abbotsford near three famous Mt Lehman area wineries, Mission Bridge, great walking trails and mountain hikes, fantastic Mt Baker view, berry picking, boutique shopping, and the Abbotsford airport. Lucinda features all the comforts of home snugly assembled in one cozy room. Great for a quick stop, weekend stay, or fun alternative place to have a break. Lucinda has a toaster, tea kettle, pots, cast-iron pan, and all your basic kitchen needs. Feel free to use the stove-top to heat something up or call in a meal with SkipTheDishes or DoorDash. In need of a coffee fix? If you are feeling organic, help yourself to local whole beans, or we have ground coffee for a speedier option. Savour it in genuine vintage Denby stoneware! Enjoy our comfortable mattress, pillows, and high-quality linens. Towels, toiletries, and a clothes steamer are provided for your convenience. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking, and the MaxxFan air vent works like an A/C on summer nights to keep you comfortable. Lucinda has a small table for meals or working on your laptop. The bed is a small full-size bed and can accommodate one adult or two slender adults who like to be close together 😉. You can stretch out comfortably at a length of 6’3”. Due to the size of the trailer, it may not be suitable for children. There is not currently a TV, but you will have access to WiFi, so be sure to bring your laptop to cuddle up and watch your favorite shows or movies in bed! The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

Glamping On Rustic Mudge Island, BC

17. Glamping On Rustic Mudge Island, BC

50km from Oakridge · 1 site · Lodging · Gabriola, BC
Explore the natural beauty and rustic charm of Mudge Island while glamping in a comfortable well appointed 29ft trailer on 2.5 acres of private land. Mudge Island is one of the smallest islands among the Southern Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia. Hosts, Jia & Ric, have been living and working on their beautiful waterfront property for 5 years, building a work-in-progress hobby farm, zen gardens, orchards, and vineyard. Mudge Island and its surrounding waterways are home to bald eagles, herons, orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, and seals. We offer canoe and paddleboard rentals, as well as guided canoe paddling tours of Stuart Channel, False Narrows and Dodd Narrows, the scenic waterways surrounding Mudge Island. Ric, your host and guide, is very knowledgeable about the local history and marine life, having lived in this area for most of his life. While Ric will delight you with fables and legends about these parts, co-host Jia will delight your palate with delicious and healthy homecooked meals (should you wish to take a relaxing vacation without having to cook for yourself). Meals can be ordered as needed or for the entire duration of your stay. Order or pack your own picnic lunch and spend the day exploring one of several beaches, each unique and beautiful in their own way. With no commercial services available on this island, you will truly feel like you have escaped to the great outdoors. For those who want to remain "plugged in", internet service is available on site. Cell phone signals can be spotty or unavailable in some areas of the island, but there is a reliable signal on the property. This getaway is perfect for anyone who wants a nature retreat with an experience that can be tailored to one of complete self-reliance (where you do everything for yourself), or one of complete pampering in an "all inclusive" style vacation (you can even book a massage with our local RMT, subject to her availability). Either way, Ric & Jia look forward to hosting you on your unforgettable Mudge Island retreat and adventure!
