This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. While we don't offer full hookups, our location is perfect for dry camping. You’ll be just minutes away from Seneca King Campus, Eaton Hall, and various hiking and biking trails. Downtown King City is only four minutes away, offering grocery stores, restaurants, and more. Whether you're attending a wedding, visiting a friend, or spending time with a student at Seneca King Campus, we are perfectly located for your stay. Day trips to Toronto? No Problem! The Aurora Go Train Station is 5 min away by car. Drive or take a $10 Uber! Take the GO-Train straight into downtown Toronto's main train station, Union Station, only a 40-50 min train ride on a comfortable train. Or drive to Toronto in about 35-45 min, depending on traffic. Additionally, if you're heading north on a longer journey, we are an ideal spot to park overnight and rest before continuing your trip. Welcome to our Hipcamp. We offer a unique camping experience on our 75-acre farm located in the Kawartha Lakes near the village of Woodville. Be sure to visit the local area, we are within a 15 minute drive of several restaurants, grocery store and the LCBO. The Kirkfield Lift Lock, Fenelon Falls, Balsam Lake Provincial Park and Lindsay are all within a 30 minute drive. There are miles of paved country roads and bike paths to explore the area. Enjoy your evening sitting around a campfire telling stories or listening to the tree frogs. The dark night sky is ideal for star gazing. Farm fresh produce is available for purchase in season as well as small batch maple syrup from our own trees. CAMP SITE The campsite is located on a lot nestled in trees approximately 1 hour from Toronto. LAKE Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes. HISTORIC MONUMENTS The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988. FISHING Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish. EATS AND TREATS • Bolsover is home to the Western Trent Golf Club • Check out Bexley Golf Centre just west of Coboconk & Balsam Lake Provincial Park. Her farm is so cute!! We love being able to throw pumpkins for the chickens and see the bunnies and pigs. The trails are so pretty and it was lovely and quiet, Shelby is so so sweet and everyone there is so welcoming!

Flat gravel driveway and lots of flat grassy land. You'll have a few nice options of where to camp when you arrive :)

It truly is a " Hidden Oasis " . I really appreciated the quick response back from Laura to my inquiries and too the suggestions she gave for things we could do in the area during our stay. The setting could not have been nicer with large mature trees, a pond you could walk around and large clearing to gaze the stars at night fall. Comments already made about the large fire pit & welcoming large compositing outhouse and paddle boat (s) by the pond edge. Our boating Cat was absolutely fascinated with the pond and racing around the large cedars. Lots of reviews nothing not one negative thing could be said!! We had an amazing stay at Carl’s place! The location is peaceful and beautifully maintained – it felt like having the whole forest to ourselves. The fall colors around the pond were absolutely stunning, and paddling there was pure calm. Everything was spotless, the hookups (including water) worked perfectly, and there was plenty of firewood ready for us. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature – we’d be happy to come back again!

This was a great location, really beautiful spot. It's secluded and quiet and they included some firewood to start which was really nice. The pond was smaller than expected, and we were hoping it had some fish but I think there was only 1 or two smaller fish in there. They have a paddleboat there which was nice and a small floating dock. Grass was cut very well and property maintained well, the drive in was pleasant. Instructions were sent clearly. Bathroom was clean and it was nice that they were selling firewood for a really affordable price.

Weekend Trip to The Farm

Elana and family were wonderful hosts! I booked a few days just to “get away” and reset, and this was a perfect spot to do so. The animals (mini donkeys, oh my goodness!, the goat who welcomed me alongside Elana, the ducks that swam around the pond…) and the “Enchanted Forest” were highlights. I would have stayed longer (much longer!) if I could, and hope to be back next year… maybe to see baby donkeys or Highland cows? :) Thanks so much for a lovely weekend.

Appreciated that Shelby communicated and met me upon arrival. Was an easy set up and interesting location. Animals are super cute. I imagine the ranch is very lovely in summer. I liked the signage which made it easy to navigate. There’s The Danish Place nearby which is also cool. Was only there for one sleep but was a nice stop on my way back to Ottawa.

It's a nice and scereen spot with lots of space. I wish I could have stayed a few days longer to just sit by the pond and play with fire lol. The host was really nice! He checked in on us all and was very accommodating. The bridge being out dosent show up on Google maps so pay close attention to the instructions to get there quicker. Had a great time! Would go again!😀

Lovely private spot for camping! The hosts were nice and quick to respond to messages. The property was well kept and clean, including the outhouse. The other two sites were occupied on our first night but they were a decent distance away so it still felt fairly private. Would definitely recommend!
