Amazing experience. Me and my partner stayed for three days in early September and it was such a cozy and comfortable stay. Is clean private and perfect for people that love the outdoors. Indoor wood fire was a great way to stay warm and made for amazing ambiance. Jake made the experience super easy and I would go back in a heartbeat.

We had an amazing weekend at the bunkie! Although the river was too shallow for swimming, it was such a beautiful view and the sound of the flowing water was so soothing to hear all day and night. Paula and her husband were wonderful hosts. It was super convenient that they had a little store and restaurant less than a two minute walk from the bunkie. We would definitely go back!

Jake was a great host! He was friendly and showed us around the chalet when we first arrived. The chalet was very well maintained with all the basic amenities needed for glamping. The site was very private and the property was beautiful. We brought our dog along and he had the time of his life being able to be off leash the entire time. Highly recommend, we will be returning.

R&R was such a restful time ☺️ the pond is crystal clear, it was like looking into a whole other world as a rowed across the water. The bunkie is secure, clean and slightly bigger than I expected. Renee & Randy we're wonderful hosts and extremely happy to assist if needed! There wasn't any reception for me and the river crossing is something to inquire about if your vehicle is low riding. I can definitely see myself visiting again ☺️

4 nights at R&R Back Road Country Retreat

I enjoyed my stay at Sunset Pond. Very private, quiet and relaxing. Sophie and I enjoyed walks on the trails daily and taking dips in the pond. This would be a wonderful site in the fall as I prefer cooler weather and unfortunately stayed this time in a cooker of a heat wave. I will look at coming back for a couple of days then. I also didn't notice until later that the balloons said Happy Birthday. I appreciate the thought Renee and Randy!

3 nights at Chapelwood Chalet

We had the best time here! Jake met us on arrival to show us a few things and was so kind in giving us from fresh garlic he had grown and some home made strawberry jam (which was incredible)! The chalet its self did not disappoint it was so well equipped and clean! So many times we have gone places and felt like they were cleaner when we left than upon arrival so this was amazing! The shower was 10/10 and a nice treat it worked perfectly. This chalet really has it all, peace and quiet, beautiful trails and views, comfy bed, space inside and dog friendly! Jake was so lovely and attentive and really makes you feel at home, you can tell the care he has for this space everywhere you look. We are already planning when we can come back up again as this will be a repeat spot we come to! Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us and the pups!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Resort and Bistro

A true hidden gem! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Paula’s bunkie. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking up to birds chirping was incredibly peaceful. The clear skies, the quiet, and the lack of highway noise made it feel like a true escape. We spent our days cooling off in the crystal-clear river and our evenings around the fire, soaking in the natural beauty. One day, we had to get some work done, and were grateful for the WiFi and the chance to work from their beautiful patio overlooking the property. Compared to other campgrounds we’ve visited, the level of care here is unmatched. Paula and Dave checked in on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and clearly pour their hearts into this place. It felt more like a boutique resort than camping. The bunkie was spotless and cozy, with a Keurig, toaster oven, full fridge/freezer, and a BBQ. The shared washrooms and showers were also very clean and well-maintained. We loved the on-site bistro (open Wednesday–Sunday), with delicious meals made by Paula herself. One night, there was even live music on the patio. Their little store also has a few essentials if you forget anything. They mentioned plans to expand the bunkie with its own toilet, build a second one, among other improvements. We can’t wait to come back. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-run place to unplug—this is it!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Lake Huron Cottage

Our 3 night stay at the cottage was very peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed. Our adult children and their spouses also joined us to make it a special birthday for their mother. Our dogs also got to enjoy the walks and outdoors. The water was low, so we only walked there once, but very wonderful Lake Huron sunsets. Twenty 20 minute drive to Kincardine to enjoy a dip in the water. Lana’s Cottage had everything we needed just bring your food, drinks and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

Weekend Trip to Chapelwood Chalet

This was a perfect little getaway for us! Jake’s chalet is a wonderful off grid disconnect with some luxuries. We had a great time here not thinking about the daily headaches and just being able to explore the vast forests and stunning river! Jake was very accommodating with anything we needed and the chalet was set up with extras that saved us while cooking! We saw deer, woodpeckers etc. also fishing would be amazing here! Definitely would recommend this place.

We had the perfect weekend at the Chalet! We came very late in the season - end of November. Jake made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! There is so much to explore on the property and the hiking trails are very well marked. The chalet was equipped with everything we could have needed. Can’t wait to come back!
