Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll.
You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE:
*There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property.
*There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site.
Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need.
We can assist w/ Bruce Trail (Caledon Hills Section) pick ups/ drop offs if we are available.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.
-RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under
-a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Welcoming to all!!!!!

The Perth Harvest Pathway section of the G2G rail trail is quite literally in the backyard. for hiking , bird watching and biking. Enjoying a good book or a walk on the property looking out for Wild Turkey's, Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground hogs and a variety of Bird's. Take an evening walk to the top of the hill to catch a beautiful farm sunset over the corn fields. Local businesses nearby are Brooks Farm Playground and Market 2 min up the road. Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. In nearby Stouffville find Timber Creek Mini Golf, Gallucci Winery, Willow Springs Winery + Tree top trekking at Bruce's Mill.

Lots to check out in the area, or simply stay put at The Shack and enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area (propane included) and relaxing by the bonfire (wood included). The Shack is equipped with some cooking items, pots + pans, BBQ and utensils, knives, cutlery, plates, coffee cups, bowls, glasses + (wine glasses) cutting board, tray, kettle and a small chest cooler to keep your food and drinks cold (you will need to bring the ice) Dish washing rack is provided, as well as large jugs of clean potable water for cooking/drinking and doing the dishes. Please bring your garbage bags! Extra cooler is also provided.
The Shack sleeps 3 people comfortably, with 2 bunks and 1 single size sofa-bed. Pillows and Bedding ARE NOT included. Gillian’s place is a vast open area that puts the guests in a charming cabin stream side (think: trickling water as you lay in your comfy bed). She’s thought of everything to give a comfortable stay for any guest. There is an excellent fire pit with surrounding benches and a charming covered sitting area. A surplus of outdoor games keeps everyone busy. Great spot, great hosts.

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven
I had such a wonderful stay here! Lisa and Scott were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit.
The cabin I stayed in was fairly new, very cozy, and thoughtfully set up. The space was clean and well maintained, with a fire pit, propane grill/stove, and a picnic table. There’s no electricity in the cabin, but rechargeable lamps and a fan were provided, which made the stay very comfortable.
The location is absolutely beautiful. The cabins are surrounded by pine trees, and there’s a gorgeous pond nearby with water lilies and a beautiful willow tree. It was such a peaceful and scenic setting — honestly, so beautiful! You can swim in the pond, and kayaks, tubes, and safety vests are available to use.
There are grocery stores and trails nearby, and we also had good network coverage, which was convenient. If you get a clear night, the area is perfect for stargazing too. Sitting outside in the evening, surrounded by trees and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, was definitely one of my favourite parts of the stay.
Overall, it was such a cozy and relaxing getaway. I would absolutely love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
10/10 experience. Everything was perfect. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. The site is completely private allowing you to disconnect and relax from the hustle of every day life. We loved the farm dogs, the sheep, on the farm trail and staying off grid. Highly recommend and will be sharing our experience with friends and family. Can't wait to visit again

I loved camping here ?it was such an amazing experience! The campsite was peaceful, quiet, and close to the farm, which made it even better. My site wasn’t shaded by trees, so it got pretty hot during the day when the sun was out, but there was another site that looked amazing with better shade. The service was also great; since I didn’t have a car, they were so kind and offered us a ride to the trail and picked us up afterward. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and we really appreciated it. Definitely would love to come back!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lisa and Scott were kind, and very friendly. Upon arrival, Scott gave us a tour of the property, and told us about a few special spots that we could visit in the area. The site was nice and clean, and the cabin was cozy. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy at some points, due to the neighbour’s construction and some cars driving by. It’s a great place to get a nature feel, and yet still be close to several towns. Overall, we had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Beaver Valley Base Camp
We had a great time - the bunkee was nice, new and clean and we felt relatively well tucked away from the other sites. The two bunkees on the site share an out house, but there was no one at the other one, so it felt pretty private. There was no picnic table near the fire, so we were glad we brought our own chairs in the end.
There was one solar light in the cabin that was enough light to manage in the evenings, but if you need things to be well lit I’d recommend bringing an extra source of light.
It was super close to lots of great hiking, eating, and swimming spots so we had a great time!

1 night at White Pines Cabin Retreat
My daughter and I had a lovely one night stay. So many surprises - games, a zipline, and even a keurig coffee machine. The sound of the river was perfect to fall asleep to. And even when a bee sting put a little stop in our fun, Jim was quick to response to bring us a first aid kit.

This was our first time booking a spot on Hipcamp and we can 100% agree that it was the perfect getaway! The cabin was clean and very cute. No bugs, and clean bedding. The property is gorgeous and very private. We stayed in site #1 which was more secluded in the trees, over the #2 site. We got to use the big floating tubes which were a great touch to float and relax on the water. Lisa and her husband were very welcoming and so kind! We are definitely referring this site to friends.
Also just an idea, I would maybe suggest installing some hooks inside the cabin, so personal bags/coats/light etc could be hung and off the ground.

Beautiful and isolated with forests and rolling hills. Plenty of wildlife around from big to small. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an isolated getaway that's still in close proximity to the city.

We had such a great stay at this beautiful place. The cabin is very cozy. The dining area is lovely, the BBQ setup is awesome, and there are so many chairs and benches to sit and just relax. They thought of everything, coffee, small touches, all those details that make a stay easy and comfortable. The hosts were really caring and attentive, and it shows in every part of the place. We felt like there was always something to do: board games, outdoor activities, There is a nice lake just a minute away, perfect for canoeing and kayaking. We definitely recommend it.

Weekend Trip to Cottonwood Manor
The bunkie was exactly as advertised. A couple feet from the G2G trail, it was the perfect place to chill for the night, have a fire and catch up a little. I would highly recommend and will be staying again next time I do the G2G. Thanks John!
