We are fortunate to call this ecologically diverse and extremely private piece of land home, and we are excited to welcome you here to explore the magic for yourself.
Our 50 acre parcel would have comprised much of the maple bush for the original 400 acre farm property. The stone fence rows and laneways lined with large boulders are remnants from the days or horse drawn carriages, likely put in place hundreds of years ago. In addition to the maple bush there are several acres of cedar bush, open wild flower meadows, as well as fields dotted with larger shade-giving trees.
A small half acre of the property is used to farm fresh cut flowers which you are welcome to visit. We also have a kitchen garden, 10 egg-laying hens, 2 very friendly outdoor cats, and our black lab Abby who will likely greet you with a bark (she is very friendly).
In the summer months you can enjoy a handful of lakes for swimming and boating all within 10-15 minutes of our property. We are happy to share details and locations.
We are conveniently located just off of Highway 10, ten minutes north of Markdale and 25 minutes south of Owen Sound. If you are headed north to Tobermory, we are a perfect mid way point if coming from Toronto, with Tobermory just an hour and a half north of us.

We had a great time staying at Camp Kyle. Natalie was very friendly and inviting. The Cabin and outhouse were very clean. There was an outdoor kitchen available with propane burners/grill. Great for heating up or making a meal. A large fire pit and plenty of outdoor space surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The wood stove inside the cabin was a perfect addition as we were able to stay warm during the night. Thank you for sharing your land with us.

Our visit to the Stillwater Bunkie was a great few days! We had private access to a lake, a well-maintained firepit and composting toilet, and a cozy bunkie. Despite being out at the Bunkie in mid-November, we were able to keep very warm inside the Bunkie with the wood burning stove and the provided propane heater. The Bunkie and property came stocked with lots of thoughtful supplies (ex some basic dishes and cutlery, water for washing dishes and 4L of drinkable water per day, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, BBQ, firewood, marshmallow roasting sticks, axe, etc). The sofa bed and loft bed were very comfortable! The use of the fridge in their garage and a portable power station in the Bunkie are huge bonuses that many other listings don't provide. The listing mentioned an outdoor shower which we thought would be working but wasn't connected. Not a big deal for a few days but it definitely changed how we planned to keep clean and fresh. Colin was very easily accessible via messaging on this app and was quick to provide any extra supplies we required during our stay (for example, a garbage bin as listed in their welcome/info binder provided inside the Bunkie). Overall, we enjoyed our time out at the Stillwater Bunkie and I would recommend it to others! See

We LOVED it here. Very scenic! Very charming! Very cozy! The host provided everything we could have needed and access to the fridge was such a great asset. If you are into birding, this is the place for you! We saw cranes, herons and one really persistent kingfisher. You can really tell that they have put a lot of care in this place and the added little touches of care like the warm outdoor shower and the beautiful and ingenious bottle mosaic/stained glass added the perfect touch of whimsy. Overall, we really did not get stung that bad and the outhouse was really clean and accessible. Access to the canoe was really a great plus, too! I would definitely recommend who want some good ol peace and quiet ! Thank you again for letting us stay here!

My wife and I loved everything with the bunky. Everything was so calm and so clear, the shower worked very nicely, the fire pit was in perfect condition when we got there which was a nice touch, and to top it off the hosts were super friendly and nice to answer all our questions and help out when we needed it. The only downside was there were quite a few mosquitoes out, but they seem to go away with a little bug spray, and it's kinda to be expected when you're staying at a place known as stillwater.

Weekend Trip to Maple Forest Bell Tent
Laura and Dale were fantastic hosts! The fresh eggs were delicious, the cooking area had everything you need, the surroundings were beautiful and the hot tub and outdoor shower were fabulous! The glamping tent offered some amazing sleeps with the open mesh breezes.
Mosquitoes and bugs are plentiful, but that's to be expected with camping and the outdoors, so come prepared!
Overall, a wonderful retreat for anyone wanting to experience the outdoors with a little more comfort.

2 nights at Stillwater Bunkie and RV Site
Our two night stay at the Stillwater Bunkie was in absolute delight. The location was stunning - situated overlooking a large, clean pond with water-lillies, frogs, and home to a pair of Great Blue Heron nesting at the Northern end of the pond.
The Bunkie had high quality appointments and was thoughtfully and tastefully furnished - cosy with a rustic charm, but at the same time very clean and modern. We appreciated the solar battery for charging our devices and running the fan they provided for the warmer night. Although it had a loft bed, we chose to use the pull-out and it was a very comfortable sleep. With windows on three sides and a patio door overlooking the water, views of the natural surroundings were all around, and getting a good flow of air was a breeze (excuse the pun)!
The outdoor shower was an appreciated touch and had plenty of hot water. The composting outhouse was one of the best we've used to date, clean, well-lighted for nighttime, and odour free. In addition, our host, Colin, was very attentive to all our questions and concerns. We would not hesitate to return to The Stillwater Bunkie.

We took our 16 year old away for some nature along with relaxation and it was exactly what we needed. 4 nights and we were getting into the routine of living a little simpler. Everything is clean and felt new. The evenings were cool and days we’re hot. There’s an indoor fireplace for winter nights as well. Sauble Beach is 15 mins away. Southampton is even closer. The solar power charging unit was awesome to plug in the fan and charging anything. I was able to make my morning smoothie with the little hand blender I had. Shower was great! The guys loved the canoe & kayak.
My husband mentioned how it felt private to us. What a gem. 💎 We wish Colin and his family the greatest success as they offer their outdoor space for others to enjoy.

Our 3 night stay at the cottage was very peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed. Our adult children and their spouses also joined us to make it a special birthday for their mother. Our dogs also got to enjoy the walks and outdoors. The water was low, so we only walked there once, but very wonderful Lake Huron sunsets. Twenty 20 minute drive to Kincardine to enjoy a dip in the water. Lana’s Cottage had everything we needed just bring your food, drinks and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

Georgian Bay Islands National Park
Sixty-three islands make up Georgian Bay Islands National Park—part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Beausoleil Island is the park’s largest at 8-kilometres long and features lakeside vistas that campers can hike or bike to for the night. The park also hosts 130 campsites among several campgrounds—some are more primitive while others offer amenities such as flush toilets and showers. Tobermory
Scuba divers flock to Tobermory, the “freshwater scuba diving capital of the world.” Explore Bruce Peninsula Grotto, a wave-carved cave in the bay. Sauble Beach
