Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. My partner and I loved staying in the dome, our dogs had a blast playing with Max and Ruby too, sweetest pups I ever met. It was amazing sleeping under the stars and the moon. It was like camping but a lot better. Mitch was very attentive and made our stay an 11/10. If you forget something civilization is close by so don’t fret. The pond and the land surrounding the dome is breathtaking. If you want to sleep under the stars surrounded by nature add this trip to your bucket list you will not be disappointed !

Weekend Trip to Sparrow Lake Camp

Walking through the forest heading to the campsite, a beautiful view by the lake, loons calling, peaceful and quiet at night. The lake is weedy still went swimming, hubby enjoyed fishing. The lady who met us was so nice she showed me the way to our campsite and brought firewood, we missed the complimentary canoe hopefully next year we will have one, aside from that no complain. Definitely we be back.

Weekend Trip to Sanctuary Glampsite Retreat

What a super special and beautiful place. Before my review of the property, I must say that Melissa is such a kind and friendly soul. It was a pleasure meeting her and chatting when we first arrived when she showed us what’s what. Her husband was also super nice, he picked up us from the dock to take us to the island that they live on. Usually me and my partner stay in bunkies where the main property is a little further away from the bunkie, but it was so private even though it’s on the next plot. We’re used to ‘roughing’ it a bit a bit more when we glamp but this weekend, especially since it rained in the evenings, we were so grateful we’d picked somewhere with an outdoor living area. We hung out there for hours both evenings, listening quietly to music and enjoying each other’s company, playing cards and cooking great food. The region had a full fire ban so we couldn't cook over a fire pit like we usually would, but Melissa has thought of EVERYTHING! There is both a BBQ as well as a dual stove/burner, washing up sink, fully stocked cupboard of crockery, pots, pans etc which made it so easy! Appreciated the bug net (although almost 0 bugs), and the outhouse is very clean. We LOVED having Oakley come and visit us in the morning and evenings, she is very sweet and chill doggo. We also appreciated the use of the canoe, which we took over to a small island for lunch. I wish I could write more! Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us Melissa and Adrian :)

We had a lovely time in the Igloo. The location is beautiful and the water was clean and swimmable. The zip line and the slide were pretty fun too. We oiled have loved if the toilet was not beside the bed, it doesn’t smell lovely while in bed. Nonetheless we had a lovely time. Cleaning guy crept up on us before 11 am check out and scared the bejesus out of us. Maybe coming after 11 am would be a nice touch. The sound of the river while sleeping was a plus ! Bring a fan if you are visiting in the summer it is hot. The sauna is lovely and close to the water so you can plunge when it’s hot;)

Weekend Trip to Uxbridge Igloo

We had an amazing time at the Uxbridge igloo this summer. Our favourite part was the personal "lake" on the property that was perfect for swimming and cooling off after a hot day. They had a full BBQ and blackstone for cooking. The sauna looked cool but we never used it. Igloo itself is very nice, definition of glamping. Only issues were that the igloo gets really hot in the summer, bring a fan or two cause the A/C doesn't work. There also wasn't any utensils for cooking but they had everything else - working toilet, toiletries, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. We will definitely be back soon!!
