1 night at Old Growth Forest Moon Dome
Manon's dome in the forest is in a great location minutes away from the famous Sooke River Potholes as well as the town of Sooke. The space is private, tucked beneath large trees with a composting toilet and covered fire pit steps away. The inside of the dome is cozy but not cramped, even equipped with a wood fireplace for shoulder season and winter stays. The property features a number of paths through the lush forest, and horses graze in the field nearby. Along with the nearby Potholes, Sooke Region Museum is also a short drive away, plus numerous walking trails, and nearly limitless beaches close by. Be cautious regarding wildlife, as I spotted a couple bear droppings during my stay. I would certainly recommend Manon's place as a basecamp to explore Sooke.

Lovely spot a few minutes from Duncan and a short drive to Cowichan Lake. Gary was super helpful and let us arrive early. There are tent sites, van sites and one full service RV site. Ours is 37’. The communal spot by the pond is wonderful. We weren’t bothered by mossies or anything. Others mentioned a noisy peacock. We saw it everyday but never heard it! Very quiet and a joy to stay there. Highly recommend

Beautiful location right on the Cowichan Valley Trail system. An easy ride to explore the great vintage shops and cafes in historic downtown Duncan.
Gary was easily reached by phone when we ran into an issue with our RV, and offered solutions.
We especially enjoyed the peaceful pond complete with frogs, dragonflies, lily pads, and a seemingly unlimited array of friendly horses next door.
Would recommend to others, the only caveat being the raucous peacock that woke us from 4-6am each morning. Earplugs recommended!
