I loved my stay in Michael's Woodland Cabin. It was the perfect blend of tiny house living and camping. The outdoor bath under the stars and short hiking trail in the forest through lush ferns and moss made my stay even more special! Perfect spot to unplug completely (or even sneak in a little work while enjoying the view of the mountains and reliable internet, to boot). The perfect 1 night getaway from the city. We are right for money right now but we wanted to get out of the city and Michael made that possible with his accessible pricing. He provided everything we needed so packing was light. The bathtub was a wonderful addition and both of us (both 6 foot plus) could fit comfortably inside. Will recommend!

This was a pretty great little spot. The cabin is small, but it had a good setup with a hotplate, sink, fridge, & microwave. There was a big very comfortable mattress in the loft. The bathroom wasn’t too far away across the parking area and it was well maintained, with a flush toilet and a sink. Everything during my stay was very clean. I walked down to the lake, and it was about 10 minutes on a nice trail through the woods which meets up with the main road just before the lake. Property has a horse, goats and other animals. It’s quite a nice place, the host was very friendly and I will definitely be back in the summer.

Nice private tipi surrounded by trees and next to the farm. The sink was nice to have nearby. Garbage and recycling cans near the parking spot. Nice bedding. Picnic table and chairs outside. There is some traffic noise although you can’t see it and it quiets down later. Saw pheasants, rabbit and birds.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Whalebone Guest House with another couple and our dog. The tiny house was spotless, cozy, and well equipped — with a comfortable bed, handy kitchen, and thoughtful touches throughout. Even with four of us, it felt welcoming and never cramped. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by gardens and just a short walk to Whalebone Beach. We enjoyed quiet mornings by the ocean, easy island exploring during the day, and relaxing evenings back at the house. Our dog was happy and comfortable too, which made the trip even better. Our host was warm and accommodating, making sure we felt right at home while giving us plenty of space to relax. This was the perfect getaway spot, and we would happily return again.

Weekend Trip to Woodland at The Shamba

This property felt very private for us! There’s a 2 minute walk down the trail to the tent area, pretty easy to get your stuff there if you’re used to trail walking. Lots of fresh fruit and granola bars provided for us! The toilet is very simple but clean and fine for a couple nights. We brought all the necessary camping equipment minus a tent and sleeping bags. You will need outdoor chairs, a stove, cooler and other camping essentials. This was pretty obvious given the description and reviews so don’t be shocked when it’s just a bed and table! Overall we really liked the area and the tent and bedding were clean and very comfortable, had a great stay!

We absolutely love staying at Tyla's property. It's so peaceful and quiet and has everything you need for a very comfortable, relaxed stay. We appreciate how dog friendly it is, but also how impeccably clean it is, as some places that advertise being dog friendly can have some unpleasant tell tale signs! The camper is always spotless and you can see the love that has been put into every detail. The bed is sooooo comfortable. We always sleep incredibly well here. Nice comfy cotton linens as well. Tyla is also incredibly responsive if you need to ask her anything. Thanks so much again for having us. We will be back again!

We affectionately call this place “The Tardis” because its transformation from an RV, gutted into a modern cozy hi tech space with a cozy county feel, an outdoor kitchen / living / dining / hot tub areas in a forest setting. It’s got super high speed Internet, 2 TVs, a faux fireplace. Inside a live edge old growth cedar counter with Italian tile, modern connected features, fireplace, heat pump, flooring and great feel. Private inside a 5 acre estate with grounds and a private forest. Everyone loves this space. Tech wise there is super fast ethernet straight to the unit at around 600 download for zoom calls. There is also a super fast wifi for exclusive mobility, 2 flat screen TVs, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus. The space is really idea for 2 people however there are 2 bunk beds in a smaller space that could accomidate smaller children or other smaller stature adults that don't mind a small bunk bed sleeping area. A lot of remote worker like this place. It's faster and quieter than home surrounded by nature. We've focused on the outdoor area covered and private decks outside giving it the feel of an outdoor living, complete with a new BBQ, outdoor living room / seating area / kitchen. There is a private soft tub for comfy soaks.

BBQ picknik table family and pet friendly. Gabriola is surrounded by beaches and trails. So many things to do. There are drawings on the walls from my kids and cats scratches on door frames, it’s family life here.

Pinecone Burke Provincial Park

Up the old logging roads of Burke Mountain, Pinecone Burke Provincial Park offers opportunities for hiking and e-biking across natural trails or swimming and boating in Pitt Lake and Widgeon Creek. In the winter, try backcountry cross-country skiing or snowshoeing across the park. The only kind of camping allowed is primitive wilderness camping, so adventurous campers must remember to bring everything in (including their own water) and haul everything out. Pinecone Burke campers should also prepare for winter conditions without the use of campfires, which are prohibited. The park features marine access for boat-in-boat-out camping, hunting, and fishing with appropriate licenses.

Minnekhada Regional Park

Adjacent to Pitt-Addington marsh, Minnekhada Regional Park is a popular destination for trail hikers, birders, and wildlife viewing enthusiasts throughout the year. Campers enjoy cycling on paved roads and across Pitt River dykes. Tent campers, RVers, and glampers will find primitive campsites and modern ones with electrical hookups and water lines. Some even provide double and queen beds. Minnekhada is pet-friendly, so long as the pups are leashed and campers bring pet waste bags.

Colony Farm Regional Park

Camping near Colony Farm Regional Park gives quick access to fields, hedgerows, and wetlands to explore on foot or bike. Birding is a popular activity in the park, which hosts over 200 bird species. Take in the sights of wide open fields and towering mountains on the shores of the Coquitlam River, or ride a trusty steed through the marshes and cap the day with a picnic at the provided tables near the community gardens. Many nearby campgrounds offer waterside camping, accommodating RVers and tent campers alike with potable water, showerhouses, electrical hookups, and gravel or concrete pull-through pads.
