The Chameleon Cabin was the perfect get-away. Loved hearing the river flowing by through the open windows. Everything we needed was there and the host was super quick to respond to questions that came up. Extremely friendly as well :)

Casita is like stepping back in time and it’s very well maintained. The deck out back is literally right up to the river! Great fireplace/pit for fires that will go all night! Bring your own water! Hosts are very friendly and full of information about their land/casita and the area. Great biking and hiking in the area. So worth the drive from Colorado!

This place is paradise! It was very well cleaned and maintained! There are beautiful fishing spots (if you want to venture out beyond the back deck) and they’re not far at all!
We were provided disposable tableware, drink cups and coffee cups for four, as well as paper towels, pots, pans, hot plate, microwave, fridge, coffee pot… everything you need! Bring your own spices, soaps, etc. If you need anything there’s a Dollar General right down the road. No water in the home but the bathrooms have some and are super close and not scary to walk to at night.
Gabriel was wonderful! Bedding was clean and warm! Cell reception is spotty at best but that was perfect for us! Great place to get away without giving up certain luxuries. We will absolutely return often!

Me and my boyfriend chose this place for the beautiful cabin and deck. I really enjoyed waking up and immediately being welcomed to the creek. It was so peaceful and beautiful!

We were thoroughly delighted with this picturesque little cabin. The location was perfect. What a delight to wake up to the sound of the water rushing and the birds singing. We were able to spend time visiting Pecos National Monument, Monastery Lake, and a picnicking site in the mountains, all within a short 10-15m drive from the cabin. When we weren't out exploring we were sitting on the deck enjoying the river, or exploring the river path along the edge of the property. The cabin itself was equipped with everything we needed including towels, paper products, a refrigerator, many electric appliances, and some firewood to use in the outdoor fireplace. We would love to return at some point!

Excellent spot to getaway for a weekend. It's definitely rustic, but I appreciate that aspect of it. Gabriel gave us a tour of the property and was extremely nice. Bathroom/showers aren't too far from the cabin if you're concerned about that. I'll definitely be back.

My stay at the Chameleon Rustic Cabin was the most picturesque and charming experience I've had. Very clean as well. I was happily surprised by the native and Christian imagery around the cabin and it helped with feeling safe and at home. I was most surprised by the abundance of adorable animals surrounding the property (cows, horses, and kittens). Thank you both so much for your hospitality! <3

We had a lovely stay at Gabriel and Ramona's cabin. They are both very sweet and welcoming and we enjoyed talking with them. Our son pretty much stayed all day in the river catching and releasing fish. Our toddler daughter had fun on the deck and playing in the river. There are a lot of big rocks and it is relatively shallow, so we felt the kids were very safe. Like other reviews said, there are steep steps down to the river from the cabin, but it wasn't an issue for us. There are also lots of other places to access the river on the property. We enjoyed walking the river and the grounds. It felt private, even though there are other cabins and residents in the area. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The shared bathrooms were also very clean. A lovely get away spot and so close to the Pecos Wilderness, but we ended up just staying at the cabin the whole time for the two days we were there. We would definitely stay there again!

The Pecos River Cabin was idyllic and the hosts were so right there all the way! The cabin was pristine and the river footsteps from the back doorway was so charming.
We had a wonderful fire outside in the fireplace and the night sky was beautiful.

Hosts were amazing! So warm, available as needed incredibly friendly! Home was perfect, beautiful river spot down the property. Only set back was that I didn’t realize there were other cabins on the property so wasn’t as secluded as I thought. Otherwise great! Thank you!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here! The river was rushing and ice cold, so swimming and fishing were a hard pass. The casita was a good size for us two and had a great view! You do have neighbors at this location so you have to be mindful of that and this location is right off the road so you can hear traffic. Gabriel and Ramona were very sweet and always a text away. If you are looking for hiking in the area check out Grasshopper Canyon Trail. It is a short drive from the casita and good for families!

We needed a break from the Albuquerque heat wave and a quick trip to Pecos was the perfect solution. Ramona and Gabriel were quick to respond and provided a warm welcome.

We just stayed at the lovely Chameleon cabin this past weekend. The hosts were super sweet. We arrived late Friday night so they turned on a light and the stove for us - it was warm & cozy when we arrived. The cabin is nice and comfortable, and right on the Pecos River. The location is great - we went to Pecos National Historical Park, Bandelier National Monument, Valles Caldera National Preserve, and Tent Rocks. We didn't really see anyone on the property until Sunday morning when we met Gabriel - he was super nice and had lots to share about the area. We would love to go back. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the Chameleon cabin. Ramona and Gabriel were kind and helpful, always quick to respond to questions. The setting was sweet and peaceful. The cabin itself was clean and enjoyable. It provided a great anchor-spot to launch day trips from, and on the rainy day we decided to stay home and watch movies, it was a perfect place. This cabin is literally right on the banks of the Pecos River. We enjoyed seeing the river during the day, and the sound of it was soothing for us and our two-month old daughter at night. The river is a dwelling place for trout, and we saw fly-fishers wade by from time to time. It was an easy drive to Santa Fe, nearby national monuments, and the beautiful Santa Fe National Forest is just down the road. If you are looking for a rustic cabin in Northern New Mexico, we recommend Chameleon as a high option.

This place was incredible. Gabriel and Ramona are extremely responsive, friendly hosts and made me feel like a priority. The cabin itself is super cozy, very well-kept, clean, beautifully decorated and located on a great property with access to a short trail along the Pecos River. If I ever have to come back to Santa Fe for anything, I'll definitely be booking Chameleon again.

We had a much-needed relaxing time at this charming, rustic cabin. The deck + fireplace right on the Pecos River was so dreamy. It felt very secluded and like going into another world, but it was very easy to get to and had lots of amenities. I loved all the charming details and appliances inside the house, it felt like a home with lots of character. You will need to be respectful of neighbors but there are lots of places to explore beyond the cabin. It's a real treat, and just outside of Santa Fe!
