Welcome to Barren River Magic — a peaceful, nature-filled retreat tucked away in Center, Kentucky, surrounded by the serene waters of the Barren and Little Barren Rivers. Whether you're looking for a quiet escape, a family camping adventure, or a unique glamping experience, we’ve got a little something for everyone. Choose from scenic tent sites, RV-friendly spots, and creative glamping stays like our repurposed grain bin or our open air structures. Please note: for most glamping stays, you’ll need to bring your own bedding (sleeping mats, bags, blankets, pillows). The Fox Den and Peace Pipe are the only exceptions—they come fully equipped! Spend your days kayaking, fishing, tubing, or simply relaxing beside the river. The surrounding area is full of Kentucky gems—Mammoth Cave, Cave City, Nolin Lake, Green River Lake, Diamond Caverns, and more—all just a short drive away. We’re a pet-friendly property because we know adventures are better with your furry friends. Campfires are welcome, and we even provide firewood to make your evenings extra cozy. You’ll also find portable toilets and two centrally located showers (naturally warmed by the sun!) for your convenience. IMPORTANT: We do not accept late-night bookings or late arrivals. All guests must arrive by 6 PM local time. This allows us to personally greet you and guide you to your glamping site or campsite. If something unexpected comes up and you’re concerned about arriving late, please send us a message in advance—we’ll do our best to help. Fox Den is a renovated camper offering a comfortable, climate-controlled glamping experience. This site includes full AC and electricity. Inside, you’ll find a queen-size bed and two twin beds, all with linens provided. The camper also features a kitchen table with four chairs, a propane oven, and a mini fridge for simple meal prep and storage. While the bathroom inside the camper is not usable, Fox Den is located directly in front of the property’s bathroom facilities (port-a-potties and showers) for easy access. Each stay includes a handcrafted fire pit built by the property’s owner.

This is our largest glamping structure and features a unique two-story, open-air design. There is no electricity or AC, offering a simple and unplugged camping experience. The structure includes 5 wooden bed platforms only (3 twins, 2 fulls), guests should bring their own sleeping pads, bedding, or air mattress. The interior includes a wooden bed platform only — guests should bring their own sleeping pads, bedding, or air mattress. Each stay includes a handcrafted fire pit built by the property’s owner. Guests staying in the Carriage Houses are permitted to use the wedding barn’s flushable restroom facilities.

Peace Pipe is one of our most unique glamping stays. This tall, two-story structure sits elevated off the ground and features a peace sign on the exterior, giving the site its name. The lower level is accessed by stairs and sits high above the ground, while the upper level is reached by ladder. The top section includes a window unit for climate control, and both levels have electrical outlets. A mini fridge is also provided for added convenience. This stay includes two twin beds with linens provided. Peace Pipe is located right next to the bathroom facilities (port-a-potties and showers). Each site also includes a handcrafted fire pit built by the property’s owner.

Homestead is one of the original buildings on the property and holds a special place in its history. Located on the hill closest to the entrance, this enclosed glamping structure offers a convenient stay with a short walk to the bathroom facilities. While it does not have AC or electricity, the building features multiple windows to allow for natural airflow throughout the space. Inside, you’ll find a full-size wooden bed platform (no linens provided — guests should bring their own sleeping pads or bedding), along with a table and chairs and a couch for relaxing. Outside, a private deck with seating provides additional space to unwind. Each stay also includes a handcrafted fire pit built by the property’s owner.

Barren River Magic Tent Camping

We had such a lovely time camping at Barren River Magic this past weekend. We came down to be closer to hiking at Mammoth Cave and have a unique camping experience. The property was gorgeous and 2d was such a kind host, available if we needed him but gave us plenty of space as well. I was also surprised by all of the amenities available to use, clean portopotties and we also had access to the bathroom with flush toilets and water for washing hands. We enjoyed walking along the Little Barren River around the perimeter of the property. What a great surprise to have that access as well! We will absolutely be back to camp here again!

This place is true to it's name. A magical place indeed, and its all thanks to the hard work 2d and his workers put into it. Accommodations were excellent and 2d himself is a joy to talk to. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys camping, but especially to those who are looking for an alternative to a typical campground.

Love this place my daughter and I went on a camping adventure sporadically and this place was great! Very peaceful! We practically had the place to ourselves! We also found a great trail and put our feet in a cool stream! Felt amazing definitely will return! Also beautiful wedding venue! Highly recommended

Absolutely beautiful property. Not far from Mammoth Cave. 2D was a fantastic host, answered all our questions, and made sure we had what we needed to have a good trip. Truly a kind and hospitable man. Stayed 3 nights in dream catcher. It felt like falling asleep on a cabin porch. Will definitely be back. Could see this being a fun place for kids. Lots of woods, a river, and buildings on the property to explore. First time using hipcamp. So happy it went as well as it did!

Magical stay!

Barren River Magic Fox Den Site

Barren River Magic is magical, indeed! The farm is breathtaking, the facilities are perfectly maintained, and 2d is so kind and helpful! We stayed in the RV and it was such a treat. Our dog absolutely loved splashing around in the river and just enjoyed being off-leash in general. I truly can’t recommend this place enough. 5 stars with no hesitation!

2d is the best! We had such a good time and are definitely planning a return trip. All the glamp sites are amazing if you want to stay in a structure instead of a tent. Our R/V spot was amazing and we enjoyed having the showers right there next to our site. We enjoyed playing in the river, fishing, running around in the fields and watching for all the wildlife. The sky gazing at night was amazing as well! Thank you 2d for sharing your little slice of heaven with my family!

Peace Pipe Sanctuary

Barren River Magic Peace Pipe Site

The peace pipe is a campers refuge! I loved the lower level sitting area, brought along flowers and a tablecloth and it made for a beautiful meditation/yoga sanctuary. The upstairs sleeping loft was a reprieve from the heat and had the best views of the land! Mostly, we spent our free time star gazing and strolling the river. It was an amazing getaway and we can't wait to come back!

Just an FYI do not click the link for directions from the posting or confirmation reservation. I did that and it took me to some guys drive way 40 mins away from where I needed to be. Once I contacted 2D I was given directions to the exact place I needed to be and it was fairly easy to find. Once I arrived I was in awe of how beautiful the land was. 2D was super friendly and make us feel welcome. We were able to enjoy our weekend of beautiful weather and everything the land had to offer. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely some of the most beautiful and healing land I've ever been on. The owner 2D is incredible. I've never seen him without a smile. He is so helpful and knowledgeable. He loves people and that land so much and it shows. You can't go wrong staying here. I promise you won't regret it. Beautiful river and creeks, beautiful rolling hills. Walk on this land and instantly feel calm. Highly recommend.

It was the greatest place in Kentucky! I have traveled all over the state and have absolutely fallen in love with place so much! We found the place because the Slab of little Barren Campground closed their door on that Friday as we were packed and ready to leave Louisville. I promised my grandson a primitive camping trip (we have a camper) this summer and this was were I was taking him (the slab) Friday night and my girlfriends were going to join me for the party on Saturday (after my daughter picked up my grandson) and now all that is up in smoke...... until I found this magical place that sits perfectly between frankfort (me) and Nashville (my daughter) to meet up. Not only was that part perfect but the creek was is why this place is magical! My grandson had the best first primitive camping experience ever! Plus my daughter 💕 and my girlfriends got to see this place too. I live on what I call my paradise (Elkhorn Creek) and I hate to say our secret spot on the creek has nothing on the magical spot here.

This was a rustic and lovely place to stay in my teardrop camper, while visiting friends in the area. I especially loved the shower house and the covered firepit, and the owner and staff were kind and helpful. Thank you Barren River Magic...I will definitely be back!

We arrived in the rain after visiting Mammoth Caves. Punched in our gate code a little nervous about finding our spot, but 2d greeted us as we pulled in and upgraded us to a glamping building for free since he had one open. Still put up the tent but was able to wait out the rain in shelter. Beautiful spot right off the river. Provided firewood and even some kabob sticks to cook our hot dogs with. Thanks again, 2d!

Absolutely highly recommend. The owner is amazing, welcoming, understanding, and so creative. I loved that my dogs could be off leash and the park was fantastic for my 8, 5, and 4 yo. They loved having tons of places to explore. The creek was also a huge hit. 10/10 would recommend.

I love Barren River Magic. I’ve been here for the KY Yoga fest and stayed for camping this past Memorial Day weekend when our original plans fell through. It’s truly a magical place to be. 2D is an incredible host and just so kind. My kids and dogs really enjoyed the creek and playground and all the places to explore on the property.

Lives up the name of Magic.

Tin Bin

I love every experience at Barren River Magic. This is my second time staying in the Tin Bin and it's a lovely, secluded spot still close to all the places you want to roam on site. 2D is a consummate host and the spaces are always interesting and comfortable. The land, however, is the real draw. Just being on site, in the woods and water, the fireflies at night, the stars, sitting by the firepit and just being...it is, in fact, Magic.
