The amenities were lovely and clean, well kept.
The campsite is VERY open with little shade
We chose to camp at the far end near the lake for privacy but it’s close to the road and adjacent to the campsite is FIFO accommodation and it gets very noisy with cars going out at 4:30-5:30am. We still had a relaxing time as any place is what you make it.

Property has wide big areas to spread out and have your own space that look over the livestock dam. For the price, amenities and location between 2 towns is a winner! Heads up highway noise can be subtle in the background.

Lots of room so you're not crammed in like sardines like some places. Amenities were always clean and showers were hot with good pressure. Kids had fun swimming, playing tennis as well as kayaking on the dam. They had plenty of room to kick a ball around and ride their bikes. Also got to witness a newly born foal when we woke up one morning. Hosts were lovely to deal with.
Would happily spend another weekend away here.

We loved the area as it is spacious. Toilets are clean and kitchen are packed with all the basic necessities that you need. We stayed one night and we are planning to come back again.

We usually go camping twice a year, and for over five years we’ve stayed at various campgrounds. I can honestly say that Susan Riverside has been the best place we’ve ever stayed. The facilities, bathrooms, and showers are always clean. There are great activities for kids, a nice pool, and the campsites are spacious. There are bins conveniently located everywhere. Even with horses around, there’s no bad smell. The place is absolutely amazing — 10/10. I’d come back a thousand times, and I think it’ll be our first choice from now on. Highly recommended!

We will 100% be back! Had the best time camping at Susan River over Easter, there was so much to do - horse riding, swimming, tennis, volleyball, playground, dirt bike tracks, huge bonfire… the list goes on! Cute little cafe on site to get coffees from and a bar in the arvos. The staff were beyond lovely, the property is run by three brothers who are true gentlemen and so caring. We loved it! We will be back!

Absolutely loved our stay over Easter Weekend. Our stand out moment was that although there were alot of campers we weren't boxed in like may other places we have stayed before. Plenty of room to enjoy your own space. Although we stayed at an unpowered site we were incredibly happy to be able to take advantage of all the amenities including the beautiful pool and BBQ area. We also took advantage of taking a picnic down to the lake. Absolutely perfect 👌 the staff were very lovely and very accommodating. We will be back for sure !

Every which way you turned you had an awesome view of the land and animals. The family who owns it keep the property absolutely immaculate and are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Non powered sites are on a huge paddock with plenty of room between at least 20 different campsites on Easter long weekend. For us setting up relatively close to the river/creek, there was practically no mosquitos/bugs that bites to the extent that I slept on my roof racks in a sleeping bag one night when stargazing and woke up untouched. Showers were great, reasonably sized personal cubicles, nice & hot, water pressure was very good when me & 3 of our campers all showered at the same time and only the last person that got in had weak pressure in the shower on the far right. Pool was a great way to cool off on a hot sunny day, >2m deep in the deepest part, only downside is that the surrounding edge of the pool could be swept more to prevent grass and sticks from going in the pool as much. Family/owners running the place are very friendly from the get go, had conversations with the groundskeeper/cleaner and the bloke driving around in the beautiful Land Cruiser delivering firewood and ice every evening. One night, a HUGE bonfire was held and it was a great experience surrounded by nice people and a quick way to warm up. Noise curfew from 9pm-8am, didn’t have issues with neighbouring campers once. Overall would highly recommend, good pricing for the experience you get.

Our stay at Susan River Homestead (Jan 2025) was absolutely wonderful! The grounds are incredibly spacious and beautifully maintained. The park itself is a picturesque haven with lush green lawns and a serene atmosphere.
While some of the amenities and recreational spaces are a little run-done (refurbishments have begun), they were all clean and perfectly usable. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the 2.5-hour horse ride. The horses are clearly well-loved and incredibly well-trained, making for an unforgettable experience.
The large dam was a constant source of entertainment. The kids spent every afternoon exploring the surrounding area, swimming, paddling, and even enjoying a thrilling ride on the tube (we were able to bring our own boat).
The cow feeding was a huge hit with everyone, thanks to the enthusiastic and energetic guidance of TJ. Everyone we encountered at the Homestead was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The location is perfect, just a short 20-minute drive from both Hervey Bay and Maryborough. We took advantage of this to enjoy the beach and stock up on groceries.
As a bonus, we also participated in the Gel Blasting activity (run separately on the property), which was an absolute blast and highly recommended.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Susan River Homestead to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. It's the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature.

We stayed at the Susan river venue for 3 nights - What an amazing experience!
Awesome facilities including showers, cinema rooms, camp kitchen!
Horses all around, such polite staff, always friendly and inclusive!
