Escape to the picturesque Shukuru Farmstay, nestled in the heart of Wellington Forest near the breathtaking Ferguson Valley. This hidden gem offers a unique and unforgettable experience, combining the tranquility of a 50-acre farm with the natural beauty of its surroundings. As you arrive at Shukuru Farmstay, you'll be captivated by the charm and serenity that envelops you. The property boasts a seasonal creek that gracefully winds its way through the land, creating a soothing soundscape that can be enjoyed during the cooler months. Fire pits are provided and can be lit pending seasonal fire bans and weather conditions. Please bring your own firewood onto the property. Immerse yourself in the great outdoors and explore the vast expanse of the farm, complete with a magnificent dam that beckons you to relax and unwind while endangered Red-Tailed Black Cockatoos fly overhead. Surrounded by a lush pine plantation, Shukuru Farmstay is a haven for nature enthusiasts. With its close proximity to Collie, Wellington Forest National Park, Mountain Biking Trails and Wellington Mill, adventure awaits just 15 minutes away. Discover the wonders of the enormous Wellington Dam, indulge in the region's renowned wineries or restaurants and embark on thrilling bike tracks and scenic walking trails. Every day is an opportunity to embrace the beauty of the land and create lasting memories. Please note other hipcampers may be staying on the property at the same time, we do encourage a very generous distance between groups but you may see and hear other guests, and their dogs if any. - Toilets are not provided, the nearest dump point is 18 minutes away in Collie, or 25 minutes Dardanup through the stunning Ferguson Valley. Please do not dig 'toilet holes' on the property! - Dogs are welcome, and arrangements for dog-care can be made while you explore the nearby national parks and bike trails. Fees apply. - The river and dam are deep and unfenced. Constant supervision of children by their parents or guardians while on the property is mandatory to ensure safety around water. Fall asleep under a star-studded sky, serenaded by the gentle rustling of leaves and the symphony of nature. Wake up to the sweet aroma of apple orchards and the sight of grazing sheep, immersing yourself in the rhythm of farm life. Whether you seek solitude, adventure, or simply a chance to reconnect with nature, Shukuru Farmstay offers it all. It's time to escape the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary. There are a number of events during the year in the local area, some can impact your stay such as the car rally in mid-late October from Collie through parts of Wellington Forest, so some roads will be closed for the day. We can provide alternative access for some vehicles- please discuss prior to booking.

White Rock - The East Side

This gorgeous, grassed site is largely level and is nestled under the canopy of large trees. It backs onto the dense Peppermint Tree foliage of the Bussell Brook creek line (which flows up into the Wellington Dam during the wetter seasons). Far to the right are views of our tractor shed and working areas of the farm, directly in front is the apple orchard. As a result, you may hear us come and go as we go about our duties! This is a sheltered area positioned along the tree line of Bussell Brook where the original railway line to town once ran through the property. You will have access through a farm gate off Yabberup Brook Road- and may pass other Hipcampers as you enter. 4WD's, roof top tents, tents and swags are ideal on this site. This site is can accommodate larger groups, it can fit multiple vehicles. The site permits 6 people and 2 vehicles as standard, additional vehicles and guests can be added at the time of booking. A maximum of 3 vehicles are permitted on this site. If you require full sun for solar panels, you can park your vehicle closer to the apple orchard fence line where you will receive more hours of full sun, we kindly ask that room is left between your vehicle and the fence line to enable us to pass by in our farm vehicles when necessary. White Rock is set up with a converted washing drum fire pit to use only during the approved fire pit season, and has a low wooden bench to seat a few friends.. We look forward to welcoming you to this special site. As always, we will provide a standard sized bag of firewood and kindling for bookings of 2 nights or more.

This site is level and is positioned on the west side of the farm.- close to an incredible Marri Tree. It is large and can fit 3 caravans/campervans/4WD roof top tent/swag set ups, but not all will fit on the main levelled area so please bring chocks for multiple vehicles! The nightly charge includes 3 vehicles on the site, additional vehicles can be added using the extras function for a cost of $10 per vehicle, per night to a maximum of 4 vehicles per site. This is subject to how many other bookings we may already have on the property, so it is possible we will decline the extra vehicle request to maintain an appropriate numbers of guests on the property, plus the privacy and serenity at any one time. While Shukuru Farm is sprawling, you may be able to hear or see other hip campers from a distance as they use and move around the usable areas of the property. These sites are unfenced.

Bullara Downs (formerly known as Site A, The East Side) has views across hectares of paddocks to the pine forest, and the apple orchard. It is a sheltered, East facing area positioned along the tree line of Bussell Brook where the original railway line to town once ran through the property. You will have access through a farm gate off Yabberup Brook Road This site is ideal to book in conjunction with the site 'Pink Lady' for larger groups as it can fit multiple vehicles. Pink Lady (formerly known as Site B, The East Side) shares an area with Bullara Downs and is great for large groups to holiday together. Otherwise, the 2 sites are separated by a good 35 meters with trees in-between so you can still enjoy privacy and separation. The nightly charge includes 3 vehicles on the site, additional vehicles can be added using the extras function for a cost of $10 per vehicle, per night to a maximum of 5 vehicles per site, pending any booking on Bullara Downs, to preserve the atmosphere! Flying Fox

This site has farm views and is positioned on the west side of the farm. The site can accommodate 2 to 3 caravans/campervan/motorhome etc set ups Please note it does not have a flying fox, but we dream of building one that ends near this site in the future!! The nightly charge includes 3 vehicles on the site, additional vehicles can be added using the extras function for a cost of $10 per vehicle, per night to a maximum of 5 vehicles per site. This is subject to how many other bookings we may already have on the property, so it is possible we will decline the extra vehicle request to maintain an appropriate number of guests on the property, plus the privacy and serenity at any one time. While Shukuru Farm is sprawling, you may be able to hear or see other hip campers from a distance as they use and move around the usable areas of the property. These sites are unfenced and our livestock (sheep) may roam close by, so please ensure that any pets are well managed and kept away from the sheep. If there is any risk that your dog may pursue or attack our sheep, kindly keep them on a lead. A long lead is fine.

The Fairmont is our newest site and is nestled into an an alcove of Peppermint Trees and very close to the edge of Bussell Brook. The site is large and can fit 3 caravans/campervans/4WD roof top tent/swag set ups, but not all will fit on the main levelled area so please bring chocks for multiple vehicles! The nightly charge includes 3 vehicles on the site, additional vehicles can be added using the extras function for a cost of $10 per vehicle, per night to a maximum of 5 vehicles per site. This is subject to how many other bookings we may already have on the property, so it is possible we will decline the extra vehicle request to maintain an appropriate numbers of guests on the property, plus the privacy and serenity at any one time. While Shukuru Farm is sprawling, you may be able to hear or see other hip campers from a distance as they use and move around the usable areas of the property. These sites are unfenced and please note the brook is seasonal and children must be constantly supervised by their guardians around all bodies of water.

We loved the flying fox site and watching the black cockatoos flying around. The sites are very spread out so we could only see one other group like 300m away Our pup loved being off leash. we didn’t swim in the dam but if it was filled with more water we would have. It was the perfect location for a day trip to Ferguson valley and lots of dog friendly cellar doors Make sure you screenshot the directions to find your site - really helpful

Nothing like waking up to the pristine light blue waters of the dam in the mornings, the mist of the water and the sound of the birds. Right in the edge of the Wellington Forest, so there are plenty of tracks to explore. Definitely one to add to the list.

We stayed at Shikuru Site 1 and had an amazing experience. Fiona was incredibly kind and thoughtful — knowing we were travelling with a newborn, she left out a picnic rug and cushion for us, which we used throughout our stay. Such a simple gesture, but it made everything so much easier and more comfortable. The property itself was fantastic — large, peaceful and clearly well cared for, with many areas mowed by a ride-on at some stage. It’s those small touches that really show how much attention goes into the place. The whole family were extremely kind, generous and respectful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And the homemade apple crumble and other goodies they we purchased as extras were absolutely delicious. Our dogs were allowed off-lead as long as they behaved, which we appreciated. One of ours got a bit too excited at times, but with a bit of common courtesy it was no issue at all. Overall, Shikuru Site 1 was a beautiful, well-kept spot with genuinely thoughtful hosting. We’d happily stay again.

Here’s a refined, polished version of your updated review, keeping your voice and enthusiasm: ⸻ A beautiful spot! The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The property is close to the dam. The weather was a bit too chilly for swimming, but that didn’t stop our furry friend from jumping in and having an absolute ball! There’s also a paddleboard and a rope swing available for use. Our furry friend loved having plenty of open space to explore. The National Forest is nearby, so it’s best to keep dogs on a lead in that area due to baiting — but there are no baits on Shukuru Farm itself. Being a farm, there were a few flies, but nothing a fly net couldn’t fix. The wind was strong during our stay, so most of them were blown away anyway. The fire pits were a lovely bonus, and the starry skies at night were absolutely stunning. Such a relaxing, peaceful stay — I would definitely recommend staying here!

We enjoyed our stay at Shukuru’s farm! There was only one other site in view which was only occupied on the second night of our stay so it was quite peaceful having the place to ourselves for the first night! A few trees between the two sites would be great to make the sites completely private as this is something I look for when choosing a hipcamp. Communication from the host was great! The fire pit was an awesome addition & I can see the dam would be lots of fun once it gets a bit warmer!!

We loved camping at Shukuru Farm. The kids had a ball running around the damn area. The grass is lush, it was quiet, we were provided some firewood which was fab. All in all a great spot to stay! Thank you so much for having us

We stayed on Site 2. There was only us and Site 1 in the whole space which made it nice for some quiet family Time. Huge space to park where you want close to the fire pit provided. Son was a bit disappointed that he didnt catch a fish in the dam but there is Wellington Dam close by.

This place is truly remote - surrounded by tall trees, and the only sounds being the nature around you. The campsites are well spaced out so that you do not have anybody too close to you. We had fire wood left out for us and a fire pit - there were even pre-laid ground sheets and a perfectly levelled site! The hosts were absolutely amazing - such lovely people. We would definitely return.

Shakur Farm was a beautiful stay, dog friendly heaven. We loved our stay so much, thanks Fiona and Pete! Apple Crumble was amazing, sunrises were breathtaking. Can't waitbti get back to stay again. Our dog was beyond excited, was so nice to be able to stay somewhere he was welcome.

Shukuru Farm was our first trip in our new caravan. We loved being off grid, with just peace and quiet. The kids and dogs roamed free. We loved our stay at Shukuru Farm so much we extended our stay. We can’t wait to return one day.

We loved Shukuru Farm, site A/B. Fiona and Peter were so welcoming and provided little unexpected extras, like firewood/starters and mesh floor mats to help with the muddy feet 😂 Their communication and directions to the site were amazing, even down to Peter opening the gate for us (this may have just been good timing). We will be back to explore a bit more soon.
