What an amazing place to rest and relax. The sites were huge with fire pits provided. Lots of shade and sun depending on your preference. All you can hear is the sound of the water and birds.
There were lots of flies but even people in town had the same issue. I would highly recommend Willowood. I will be back.

We loved our stay at Willowood! It was such a beautiful, peaceful property. The site was immaculate when we arrived and the built in fire pit was a bonus.
My dogs loved swimming in the river and watching the cows.
Our experience may have been an anomaly, as we didn’t see any reviews mention this, but the number of flies did impact the tranquility a little. We also came unprepared without any deterrents (rookie mistake for seasoned campers), so we’d recommend bringing some along to make the most of your stay.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to be back.

Stunning location on the Ovens River.
Fabulous fire with clear night sky to see the most amazing stars, Starlink and shooting stars.
Close enough to Milawa, Myrtleford or Bright if you want to explore the area

Camping at Willowood is simply beautiful! So peaceful and relaxing, the campsite is grassy and flat and the Ovens River is so picturesque. There are plenty of places for the kids to run around and explore, a great sandy beach on the river and having the cows visit was so much fun. In the end, I don’t know who had more fun - the kids or the dog! We will definitely be back again!

Gotta love this spot! We'd come back here time and time again. The sounds of the natural wildlife and Ovens River right beside you is nothing short of unwinding and de-stressing! Tent pegs easy to drive into the ground. We're with Telstra and there was consistently 4G coverage. Milawa is nearby for supplies or you can easily drive into Wangaratta also.

Our stay at Willowood was beautiful, very peaceful great views, the sound of the river flowing was music to our ears! The fire pit was amazing great size, we had wood delivered to our site cut and ready to burn witch made for such a relaxing weekend, Sally was very helpful and informative from the start and her husband was great popping by to see if there was anything we needed.. I would highly recommend this hipcamp to others and we will be back 😊

Absolutely beautiful spot to camp on the Ovens River. A favorite for our family and we go back as often as we can. We love the cows too and enjoy the cheeky calves coming to say hello every morning.

Willowood is a beautiful place to camp its peaceful and beautiful surroundings are just magical. Greatest firewood delivery through the owners that you could ever wish for, a mix of large, small and kindling was excellent for the price

One of the most beautiful campsites we’ve ever been! The sound of the river flowing is so relaxing and different bird sounds and noises are calming! The ground is level and smooth so we find it easy for our camping set up. There’s a visibility between campsites but there’s a good distance between them as well! The host is friendly and easy to communicate with. The place is secured and we felt very safe! I love the massive fire pit provided which we used all day and night that kept us warm! We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could stay longer! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

A great spot along the Ovens River within easy reach (30mins) of Beechworth, Myrtleford, Kings Valley. We stayed 4 nights in Campsite 3. Flat, wide site, views into river, trees for shade but safe from falling branches. Best fire pit ever. Easy access. Loved the visits from the cows and calfs when coming down to the river for their drink. Good communication with Sally. On our list of top picks!

We had such a lovely stay at Willowood. We camped for two nights on Site 1, just a stone’s throw from a beautiful bend in the Ovens River. The river red gums and cottonwoods provided plenty of shade and dappled light throughout the day. Just 25 metres from our tent was a gorgeous, deep stretch of the river. We swam, canoed, paddle boarded and did a little bit of fishing. The kids had a ball on the big swing, and we didn’t leave camp the whole time—just walked back and forth between the site and the river. Sally was super lovely and easy to communicate with. Looking forward to coming back!

We stayed at Campsite no 1 not 3. This a lovely open, flat, grassy area in a bend of the Oven's river. The river is very clean with a good flow. We really enjoyed swimming in it and fishing from the open banks. We were given lots of firewood and had stunning Autumn weather. One small issue: the campsites are well off the busy Snow road but you can hear the traffic.
