In the heart of Central Victoria, Waverley Estate, established in 1858, boasts cropping, sheep, mature gum trees, wandering kangaroos, huge star-lit skies, and tranquil dams—all set on a quiet 200 acres, yet only 20 minutes from the heart of historic Bendigo. If town is not your focus, you can explore the many attractions nearby. Enjoy a meal and drink at The Drovers Arms (3.5 km), fish, swim, or paddle in the Campaspe River (5 km), or go bush in Wellsford Forest (3 km), all connected by quiet country roads. A new arrival is our centrally located Portaloo, offering flushing toilet, insulated walls, sink with fresh water and even a mirror! Coming soon: Shower block and Camp kitchen. Please note: This is a farm with farm animals as well as native animals, insects and aquatic life which can't be controlled and we won't be issuing refunds on account of them.

This camp includes the whole dam area with a size of 1.5 acres so you are welcome to pitch your tents anywhere in this area The north side features a row of well established Mock Orange trees along the dam bank making a shaded oasis combined with the cool of the water. Perfect for large RV vehicles to park parallel with to easily drive in and out from with level ground, if you pull in as close as you can to the trees it will provide summer shade. The mock orange trees create a very sheltered tunnel on top of the dam bank with the summer foliage which can be walked through one end to the other. A very nice spot. Why not try your luck with a fishing rod, try to spot a turtle, have a swim, catch a yabbie or just set up some seats or hammock in the shade and watch the wildlife interaction with the water. Nestled among towering gum trees and located next to a large serene dam to enjoy, this campsite offers a perfect retreat into nature. The site accommodates up to 8 people and 2 vehicles, providing ample space for your camping needs. Enjoy the experience of a campfire under the star-lit sky, but please note that there is no potable water available, so be sure to bring your own. The photos show the cleared area of the camp suitable for vehicles, if you would prefer thicker vegetation, simply head east for density. The area is 2.5 acres in size so you are free to pitch your tent anywhere within the banked area. Embrace the tranquility and beauty of this secluded spot for a peaceful and refreshing outdoor adventure. Distance to toilet: 50 metres

We had a lovely time, camping for a week. Mark and Janine were very helpful, responding quickly to all my questions. We felt very secluded, and enjoyed the 360 views :) 100% recommend and would return to the site.

We stayed in drought conditions so the dam was empty and the landscape was dead. So some of my comments were out of the hands of the owner. The property was level with some beautiful big gums. The dry and cracked floor of the dam was a little depressing but we made the most of our stay. Our two little dogs loved the wide open spaces. It was certainly peaceful and the lack of light made for good stargazing. We were underwhelmed when we arrived but making the best of what was available it was still a reasonable experience.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay such a peaceful place that has everything it said it did . Host was welcoming , fantastic pub not far , gorgeous sunset / sunrise and great our dog could be free . Steve & Kylie

Dream location, very private with loads of space without neighbours impinging on your area. We have 3 dogs and they tought that tbey were in paradise running free safetly. Mark and his wife are lovely people and always on hand to make our stay perfect. Thank you and will definitely see you again.

Beautiful huge gum trees, a peaceful view across the field to watch the sun set, winderful variwty of birds. Amazing stars, lots of space for the dogs to play without other campers or their dogs nearby, and a toilet which was such a nice addition. Highly recommend.

Waverley Estate Mock orange avenue campsite 🏕️ This campsite was awesome. The site was described as it was. On the hip camp site Lots of shade and nice and cool. We sat up on the dam wall in the Arvo’s with a beer and wine and enjoyed the tranquility of the dam. Mark and his wife were absolutely lovely so helpful and kind even dropping off some home grown apples to us which were delicious. We also purchased some home grown eggs from Mark and they were delicious too. Highly recommend Marks property especially if you want to escape the mad campsites full of people and enjoy the quite beautiful tranquility of this beautiful property. Our dog was able to come along he enjoyed himself too

Beautiful spot under the red gums

This is a great spot under the shade of some amazing old river red gums. It has a nice little ready-made firepit with log benches. The toilet is a chemical toilet and was nice and clean. There were three of us camping in a tent (plus dog) and had no issues finding a nice flat bit of ground. Mark checked in with us on arrival and was even nice enough to give us a jump start when we left!

Great spot at Marks place. Heaps of space to yourself, Mark provided a great portable toilet and was easy to communicate with. Beautiful property!

Big thank you to Mark, we had an excellent time, his property is beautiful and the fresh eggs were amazing!! Portable toilet was clean with toilet roll and hand sani, beautiful sunsets over the fields and lots of bird activity. Close to Bendigo, only 20 mins and good access to camp sites on the property. Great communication throughout with regards to best sites, arrival time etc. Ground was nice and flat with plenty of spots to choose from. Best of luck with the future and I'm sure you'll see us again!
