Could be amazing, needs some work.
We showed up at check-in time to find the location surrounded by cars on a long weekend - that’s ok as we understood the location has their other business operating there. When we enquired about the site we were informed that due to extra patronage that day the sites were being used as a carpark but it should ease off soon and they’ll call us to help us get to site.
Unfortunately, after waiting for 2.5 and no phone call, the site really hadn't eased up and many cars were scattered all around the campsite. Another couple showed up also to camp, and decided to brave it and park up, but with all of the cars, a sketchy gum tree, dumpsters, junk near by, and generally a lack of space to have the “peaceful getaway” as described, we called it and left to go camp somewhere else.
The location could be amazing, we’d suggest to the hosts:
- cordon off your accomodation area from the general public parking. It should be for your guests staying only (cabins and campsites).
- clean up all of the junk and move the dumpsters from near the sites
- have an arborist attend to the tree and remove the dead limbs which pose a falling risk
These items, combined with having your cellar door and brewery on site, would make the location an amazing getaway, with the different parts of the business feeling truly integrated as pitched in the description, opposed to the accomodation coming across as an afterthought.
With those changes in place we hope to come back in the future and stay.
