We truly are in the bush offering camping on the edge of a peaceful lagoon which allows you to see Australian natural beauty at it’s best.  Kangaroos hop past and the birdlife is simply stunning. The Murray River is a walk away so bushwalking is as easy as putting your boots on. While we do not provide amenities we do provide a vista that is hard to find. Botanical rare flora and fauna are found on these Sandhills. We have ancient sandalwood trees, remnant Murray Pines, huge eucalyptus trees and myrtle bushes.  This country is of The Wolithica clan of the Yorta Yorta nation and is steeped in cultural history. Scar trees, maddens and more. Echidna and wallabies, eagles and sand ridge birds abound. We ask that you leave only your footprints and to know that if you don’t bring it with you it’s not here. The towns of Echuca and Gunbower are not far away And provide culinary delights, paddle steamer rides and lots of activities for visitors. If you want you can just chillax and rewild your senses right here on the lagoon or you can go find adventure close by. We had a great experience being immersed in remote nature. The campsite was very private and secluded. It was so hot during our visit and the lagoon was dry. It would have been a lot better if the lagoon was full. But we enjoyed our stay. We picked some fresh oranges which is a bonus. The host was lovely, easy to communicate to and very friendly. Thank you for a genuine bush camping experience!

This is a lovely property, full of gums and a short drive from major areas like Echuca. We had the spot with the fire pit, table and chairs which was perfect. Very peaceful and private and the hosts were very friendly. Thank you

Really nice and peaceful location. Host was great and accommodating. A little care with larger and taller off road vans - not a place for navigating into at night with the van. The lagoon was dry but still nice to walk around. Highly recommend.

The lovely hosts at the Sandlewoods are what makes this place special. Always happy to chat if that is what you are wanting or leave you to the peace and serenity of the landscape if that is more your style. The lagoon was not full when I went but this did not detract from the beauty of the place, I will be back next year and I am looking forward to not only seeing the place again but also the lovely hosts and their gorgeous pup (who I will be just as much looking forward to seeing when I come back).

Great quiet spot to camp for a couple of nights. Little tight getting in with a caravan but take your time and you will be fine, with an easy turn around at the campsite. The 3 local emus will keep you entertained for hours. Enjoyed the Oranges straight off the trees from the orchard. Thanks Tuesday.

We loved the camping at the sandlewoods. It was the most amazing experience, we had plenty to do everyday. Just the walks to different sections of the property was different in itself. Tuesday is an amazing host. We absolutely loved our visits from the Emus every day

The sandlewoods campsite was beautiful - in the middle of the bush with baby emus during day, tawny frog mouth owls during the night, campfire and a an amazing night sky. Tuesday is awesome… great knowledge of the property, the area and super engaging with the kids. The Lagoon was well retreated so no water nearby… we went out the kids everyday so just filled water Jerrycans in Moana, opposite the pub where the market is held. Kids played cricket and rode their bikes around the property including the orchard with all those beautiful oranges 😋 Heaps to do in area - was 30+ degrees so we were out much of the day with kids - paddle boat ride, winery Lunches, water park out near rich river, mini golf at rich river golf course, beer museum etc etc There was one day we could hear dirt bikes along the Murray but did not impact us really. Loved our time at this spot 👌

This place stole our hearts

This place is very special. Tuesday made us feel like we were old friends and the campsite is secluded, very private, very spacious and beautiful. We only stayed two nights but could stay for weeks. Thank you so much for having us, we will be back for sure.

Lagoon Camping at the Sandalwoods
We spent 4 nights at Sandalwood. Very peaceful and spacious area. Bit of a walk to the lagoon this time of year but plenty of pelicans made the walk worthwhile. Heaps of variety birdlife wise and even got to see a sugar glider do its thing jumping between trees. Thanks Tuesday for opening up your place for other to share.

Nice private spot and very private. Lovely to pick fresh oranges from the orchard and walk around the property. Track in was a bit tight. Would have loved a couple of more signs however host was just a call away.

A wonderful spot to explore - such an interesting spot to explore, plenty of wildlife, a wonderful fire pit and a handy table and shovel available. Really enjoyed my time thank you so much to Tuesday and Harry.

This is an exceptionally serene environment rich with wildlife. It felt really private although we could hear activity from nearby properties. Beautiful bushwalking to The Murray River. I feel very lucky to gave stayed here. Thank you Tuesday for sharing you land.

This beautiful sanctuary is home to incredible bird life, peace and quiet and exceptional welcoming hosts. We have visited a couple of times now and will be back again. Thank you Tuesday for opening this beautiful part of the Murray wetland environment up to share. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the camp site, Tuesday and Harry were the perfect host, Tuesday is very knowledgeable about all the animals and plants/trees in the area. Can recommend this camp site if you want to get away from it all

My wife and I stayed 3nights and had the best relaxing time by the water. We kayak the lagoon and enjoyed the wildlife and only 25min easy drive to Echuca. The site location are seasonal so 2 wheel drive my struggle in the wet.

Had a wonderfull weekend away at Sandalwoods! Tuesday and harry were excellent hosts, very welcoming! The land is beautiful with plenty to explore! Will definitely be staying again!

Land that is cared for by a wonderful custodian in Tuesday. The rare native trees on this property are amazing, unique and beautiful. The owner is very knowledgeable about the regeneration and preservation of the land. The lagoon is full of wildlife and away from the noise of boats and jetski’s, a much needed escape to enjoy an increasingly rare experience for those that seek it.

We had a great stay five day stay at Sandalwoods. This lovely spot has a lovely hostess to match. Great camping area with view of lagoon This gracious host allowed us to pick citrus fruit from her orchard that were delicious. Tuesday also distills her own organic essential oils that can be bought at the property or online at Wild Crafted Oils. Well worth a stay if you like a camp all to yourself.

It is a very private site with a nice open camp space and a firepit in the centre. Plenty of fallen trees for wood, and clear skies to view the stars. Handy tree line for hammocks too. Saw a bunch of rabbits and birdlife during the day. Will definitely be coming back!

We stayed in our caravan here, a nice secluded spot by the lagoon. Was a little swampier than expected and water had receded a fair way from the camp site but this can't be helped! Loved having the fire barrel for us to use, table, chairs and shovel came in handy too! We explored all around the lagoon in our canoe and thoroughly enjoyed spotting all the bird life around. Thank you.

Sandalwood was a wonderful relaxing stay. The hosts have nailed the appropriate amount of hospitality, not in your face but around for support if needed. Thanks for the mulberries Matt, thoughtful and yummy.

We had a wonderful time at this campsite. Once we located it, we felt completely private and like we had this all to ourselves. The fire pit was great for cooking and the table and chairs were very handy! Would highly recommend and return in the future

Better access to the water would be great, a jetty or similar. It's very hard to get a kayak or similar in the water without sinking to your knees in mud.
