Stand-out location, camp-site is gorgeous, clean , the photos don't do it justice. We took 2 labradors who had a ball roaming and exploring. Sam was just the best host, could not have been more helpful and didn't hesitate in putting aside his time to come help if something went wrong. 10/10 would recommend. Will definately return

We had the most relaxing stay at this private campsite. The sound of the creek flowing nearby and the constant chorus of birds created the most peaceful atmosphere.
Loved the many waterholes to cool off in
Sam was a truly wonderful host. He was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly responsive.
If you’re looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature, this place is pure magic. We can’t wait to come back!

Such a great camping experience! So good to have the whole place to ourselves, it really helped with the development of our nervous, selectively reactive dog & our water obsessed Jack Russell loved exploring the many different spots along the creek. Sam’s directions were clear & he was a great host! We can’t wait to return! Thanks Sam & family for sharing such a magical place.

Such a nice, quiet space! So relaxing. The beach is also about 45 mins away which is a bonus. Great spot for camping with your partner, family or friends!

We had a wonderful stay at Merrimans Creek. It was very quiet and peaceful and surrounded by the running creek which was a beautiful view to wake to each morning. We would definitely stay again.

An absolute gem of a spot. Beautiful, relaxing and isolated from the rest of the world. Massive fire pit and access to the creek on your door step. Perfect for the kids and dogs to run around and explore within a gated area. Great option if your dogs don’t like camping near others too!

Absolutely stunning campsite, my friends and I had an incredible time exploring the surrounding creek and seeing all the abundant wildlife and nature there was to explore. The site has been maintained really well, and the level of privacy made the entire experience even more peaceful. When we were leaving the next morning, a massive tree fell down onto the road! Yet Sam and his family so kindly helped us out and a couple hours later the tree was cleared! We will definitely be coming back in the summertime. Thank you Sam!

An absolute oasis! Surrounded by the creek on all 3 sides, it was beautiful. Site was very clean and totally private.
BYO firewood and lots of it.
Host was very helpful, site was easy to get in and out of even in the rain and a 2WD.

The location is absolutely beautiful and well worth experiencing, but it’s best suited for dry summer conditions. The access track is extremely steep, poorly maintained, and in wet weather, it becomes challenging, and potentially dangerous to navigate with a caravan. Traction is a major issue, particularly when trying to leave the site. With no mobile reception in the area, the situation can quickly become stressful if you run into difficulties.
We had two caravans with us, one only just made it up the hill, while the other required multiple attempts to get out. If another van had been arriving or leaving at the same time, it could have led to serious complications, including the risk of jackknifing. Definitely a spot to approach with caution unless conditions are dry and you’re confident in your vehicle’s capabilities.

Awesome, secluded spot away from everyone. Fresh flowing creek, plenty of space and levelled area. Don't expect to charge your batteries with sun during the winter months as it very shaded. These spots are why we love hip camp

Merrimans Creek Seclusion… what a perfect name for this special piece of land.
I was searching for the nicest, most secluded camp site for a solo meditation retreat.. and boy did i find it. This camp is basically its own land, Sam’s lovely farm house is on the same property but quit a ways up the road which i only noticed upon exploring deeper into the forest. Trust me, it’s private. So much so that it is very rare to even see a car drive past!
The natural silence was spectacular. I cannot get over just how quiet the entire area was, the only sounds you will hear are from the river just metres from your camp and of course the local wildlife.
I cannot wait to return.

Merriman's Campground is a hidden gem for those seeking secluded off-grid camping. The beautiful river/creek that runs through the property provides a serene atmosphere and fresh water source. Sam has a little slice of heaven here!! We had a wonderful Easter camping getaway. The Merriman’s river was really picturesque and good for a splash n dip. Great flat land to pitch our tents, an awesome dedicated fire pit, secluded campsite all to ourselves and beautiful sounds of birds and running water from the stream. Can’t fault it. Thanks Sam! We would come again for sure.

My partner and I absolutely loved this place. So private and tranquil with the relaxing sounds of the flowing creek and native birds. The camp ground is set on a large flat green space surrounded by trees and a large cliff face, with the creek running around the outside. Loved sitting by the fire and creek as well as exploring the surrounding nature. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thanks so much for having us Sam, we will certainly be coming back! :)
