Of info about the local spots. We wanted to be there for the whole long weekend but weather sent us home early but we will be back.

We had a fabulous time at Kickin back. We are group of 6 families, we choose to camp at wombat bend, there was plenty of room to setup and then for the kids to play.
The site was flat and beautifully green with stunning views. The creek running through was appreciated by all, the kids loved playing in there and the dogs loved cooling off. The dams were great fun for a dip and a play on the kayaks. We loved listening to all the wildlife and the peacefulness of the site.
Jai and Colin were exceptional hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to go back and spend longer there next time.

Jai and Bandi are a great couple who make you so welcome to their property. Each campsite has amazing views and you can enjoy a nice bush walk on the property. There is 2 dams that you can swim in when hot though for us September was too cold. The grounds were beautiful and green and well maintained. Overall a magnificent place to camp with hosts who make you feel so at home. Thank you Jai and Bandi for your hospitality.

Wow what an unexpected surprise, Jai & Colin (aka Bandi) are the most welcoming hosts. We were fortunate enough to have a choice of which site we wanted as we were the only ones booked in. There are so many areas to pick from, overlooking the dam, open paddocks to the serene sounds of the running creek. The property is so well maintained with plenty to discover. Switching off from craziness of life and re-connecting to nature is just what we needed. The beautiful sounds of kookaburras and the chorus of frogs was just the perfect setting. Relaxing in the evening to a wonderful open fire (wood delivered by Colin) with the open sky full of stars was surreal.
Hospitality is exceptional, Jai & Colin you both are so welcoming and you made us feel like we were visiting family or long lost friends.
Do yourself a huge favour and treat yourselves to Jai's amazing Sri Lankan curry it was a very welcoming for our first night.
Thank you both for the most enjoyable stay, we will definitely be back again.

We had the most magnificent stay with Jai and Colin at kickin back. It is such a beautiful property, so well manicured and so relaxing. I don't think I've ever relaxed so quickly. The bird life in and around the property is phenomenal and the sound of the frogs and crickets of a night time was just lovely. We would not hesitate to recommend Kickin Back. Jai was prompt and courteous with all communication and her hospitality when you arrive is second to none. It's like seeing a long lost friend again. Thankyou for sharing your slice of paradise with us. We can't wait to come back.

If you’re looking for a restful break that is close to Bright Yackandandah and Mount beauty this is the place you. The hosts are lovely and welcoming.. for a small cost you can get Firewood and a fantastic Sri Lankan meal. We will be back thanks Jai and Bandi.

We had a great long weekend at Kikn Bak! Jai and Colin were so welcoming and such kind and genuine people! We’ve not stayed at a Hipcamp so organised and with such great customer service.
Great location - easy drive to Beechworth, Bright, Myrtleford, Toowonga South etc: all beautiful little towns with great produce, food & wine!
Chester our Border Collie loved the dam and open paddock!

We stayed for 4 nights & loved it!
Trickling stream beside the campsite, well spaced out, didnt really hear the other campers, lots of birdlife in the trees around. The grounds are beautifully kept by Colin who was lovely, great with our pooch and delivered camp firewood which is available for $30, enough for 3 nights. Jai, so friendly and welcoming and eager for you to have a great stay, we used it as a base to explore the surrounding areas and we found it to be perfect, we highly recommend Kickin’ Back !

If you are in the Bright area with an off grid van, you simply have to go to Jai and Colin’s place. The warmest, most welcoming couple, with the most gorgeous spot. Jai made us amazing Sri Lankan dinner the one night, there is firewood on offer, secluded camp sites, and plenty to do or serenity to just enjoy. We had three nights there and can’t wait to go back. Myrtleford, bright & Falls Creek are all in striking distance so you can go to the busyness and then return to the serenity when you are peopled out.

Kickin Back was a great place to camp. Kai & Colin were the best hosts. They were very accomodating. There were walks around there property or you could canoe on one of the dams or just relax by the river. Make sure when you are there to try Kai’s Sri Lankan dinner, it was delicious. Would recommend this farm stay to everyone.

The property is nice - 2 spring water dams to swim in which we and the dogs enjoyed. Hosts were very lovely.
I’ve done tonnes of camping so just sharing my experience which is no negative reflection of the property at all!
- We arrived to the property using maps and ended up on a very rocky road for about 1 hour. The directions we got were ‘take Morgan’s creek road, second house on the right’. We ended up coming from the other side! Others seem to have not made this mistake so could just be where we drove from!
- The sites are about 15m apart.
- It is 1 hour drive from Bright, (20 mins to Myrtledford as stated)
- price is a tad steep for no facilities at all and the closeness of the sites.
- the ‘wombat’s crossing’ sites look like the best spots on the property for a bit of privacy :)
Wonderful hosts and the other people staying there were lovely too :)

Friendly helpful and thoughtful hosts. Very tranquil location although for me a little isolating. A good 50 minutes away from Bright even though its the first site that comes up when you search Bright on hipcamp

Charis and I loved staying at kickinback. Jai and Colin are so easy going and friendly. As always they both welcomed us with big smiles.
The property always looks amazing - green grass, large beautiful dams, frogs, lots of bird life and 4 curious goats!!
This time we had a big Sri Lankan meal on the day we arrived because who wants to cook after driving 4 hours!!
There is plenty to do at the property too, from kayaking or swimming in the dam, exploring the property, talking with Jai and Colin and meeting other campers.
Would highly recommend this property!! See you guys soon!

Frog Hollow is a lovely spot with a rotunda a small waterfall and a fire pit. The camp sites are nicely spaced. It was a hot weekend, and the dams are lovely to swim in. Great surrounding area with too much to do and see.
Jai and Bandi run a good ship and are very welcoming. The Sri Lankan was a nice personal touch.

The owners were beautiful people and the property is beautiful. We were promised a “private” spot but when we arrived we were put within a camp site that we were 10-20 minutes away from the other campers. There is a beautiful dam out the front however, the camping spots are far away from the water and you would have to walk/drive to be anywhere near. We ended up leaving and forefiting our $100 2 night stay to camp nearby in a free camping spot which was a lot more private. Only other downfall is it is labelled as “dogs on leash only” however this is not the case. Our dog is terrified of other dogs after being attacked so needed somewhere where she could relax without worrying about other dogs running up to her. Overall, beautiful and welcoming owners but unfortunately felt a miseladed by the terms “private” and “dogs on leash only”. It is my first experience with hi camps and will probably be my last.

We've stayed twice at this site over the past month and truly feel like at home. Jai and Colin greet us with a smile, a chat and such a warm welcome, always eager to learn about our stay and more about us.
Yes, the site is serene with lots of spots to choose from and it helps staying in a region where we're spoilt with choice - food, swimming holes, nature, towns. But what sets Kickinback apart is their warm, genuine welcome. Priceless. Will be back.

I recently stayed at a property near Bright hosted by JAI and COLIN, and I have to say, they are an absolutely lovely couple who provided the best hospitality. From the moment I arrived, they were so welcoming and made sure I felt at home.
The property itself is super incredible—a massive space with so much wildlife, including a variety of birds and animals. Shadded large sites and Camping under the stars with a clear blue sky was magical. They also have a beautiful lake and dam where you can swim or even try your luck fishing! Lots of walking tracks around and It's all pet friendly.
What really stood out to me was how caring they were. They checked in on me to make sure I was doing okay and had some great chats—this is exactly what camping should feel like.
The location is also ideal, not far from Bright and Myrtleford, so you’re close to all the amenities but still far enough to enjoy your own peaceful space. I had all the privacy I needed and still felt well looked after.
I can’t recommend their place enough—it’s the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Definitely going back there again!

Fantastic location for a nice , quite , calm and relaxing holiday.
The hosts Jai, Collin & their son are very lovely people. We had a warm welcome and even after thorough out our three nights stay they looked after us very well .
Location itself has nice two big ponds to swim and a nice little creek running through the property.
All you hear is the sound of the creek , bird singing and nature . Camp sites are very specious and it was a bonus for your two toddlers to run and play around .
It’s located in Kancoona.
About 1/2 drive to Mt beauty
About 40 minutes drive to Bright
About 1 and half hours drive to Mt buffalo nation park .
Nearest dump points are in ;
Myrtleford show grounds for $5 (1/2 hour drive )
Bright NRMA for $5 (about 40 minutes drive )
We highly recommend this gem for anyone who likes to spend a relaxing and calm holiday 😊
