Gariwerd Farm Camp
One of, if not the best camp and we have stayed at a few. Jason’s instructions were clear, even phoning a couple of days before to confirm we if we had any questions and to clarify a couple of things. He was a wealth of knowledge on the area and suggested a couple of places to go. The property, peaceful and private, views were spectacular, sunsets outstanding , the wildlife included many species of birds, wallabies, kangaroos and rabbits. Having the use of the bathroom was an added bonus. Cannot wait to go back.

We loved our 2 nights camping in a tent here. Jason was fantastic with keeping in contact and helpful instructions. Having the entire property to ourselves was so peaceful, the only sounds were birds and a visiting wallaby. Access to the house for a hot shower was much appreciated and we loved cooking over the bathtub camp-fire with the provided hot plate. We kept our dog on a long lead all weekend because we can't trust him not to run off chasing kangaroos but there was plenty for him to sniff on walks around the property and the track in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a private and peaceful spot, we can't wait to return

Such an amazing camping spot! My partner and I stayed 2 nights with our two dogs and absolutely loved the property. Jason was really easy to contact and gave great instructions for the use of their farm house. We will definitely be back :)

My partner and I camped for 2 nights at Jason's. Amazing view with visiting kangaroos and having access to the farm house makes camping so easy! Highly recommended! Would definitely return for a longer stay. Thank you for letting us stay at your farm Jason!

Nice location, plenty of space to spread out, great communication from the host and easy to find and get set up. Amazing view of the grampians but about 30 min drive to Halls Gap. It was fantastic to have the bathroom facilities and kitchen for washing up. Fully fenced so very handy for our 2 dogs. Main downside is there isn't any shade in the mown camping area so it's a bit exposed.

Great views and lots of nice grass to pitch a tent. Very quiet and private, hardly saw any cars on road in the 3 nights we were there. House is in process of being renovated but still felt clean and cared for.

Jason’s place is a piece of paradise. Broad skies, majestic mountain views, and a well set up site to set down quickly and appreciate it all. Loved having the warm inside fire as a place to relax around when the wind was strong. The famous walks are around 1 hour away via scenic country drives. Ararat is only 30 min away for forgotten provisions. Recommend popping in to have a lovely chat with the volunteer ladies at Gum San. If you have a well behaved pooch they’ll give him a treat and maybe let him look at the exhibits. Jason is a great host and easy to get in touch with. Five stars!! Great place for adventures with a bunch of teens. Bring your telescope 🔭

Fabulous land owned by Jason! He was super easy to contact and made our stay so smooth. Even gave us a hand when our caravans battery died. Nicely isolated and heaps of wildlife around making the place feel truly like the bush with the luxury of a hot shower!

Such a stunning piece of land and great facilities for camping, plus access to the old miners cottage, which made cooking and cleaning more comfortable. Jason responded to any questions quickly and was very friendly, providing local tips that would interest us while in the Grampians region. My dog was so happy and I didn't need to worry about him as the area is fenced.

We had a wonderful couple of nights staying here in a camper van. Communication and directions from the host were excellent and it was great to have access to a toilet, gas stove and shower. Cooking dinner over an open fire in an old bathtub surrounded by stunning views was a highlight! Doggo friendly and plenty of local wildlife as well, with short drives to local wineries during the day. Just a lovely way to relax and unwind.

We had an amazing time on Jason’s farm. It’s about 20min drive from Ararat, which was handy. There is so much space and having access to the house to use the bathroom and kitchen was amazing too. There was so much firewood left for us and the land itself was beautiful, wonderful views of The Grampians.

Jason was an excellent host proving great instructions and a list of things to do and see while we were in the area. The campsite was perfect, away from any hustle and bustle of the more popular and crowded areas. So quiet and peaceful with an amazing view of Mount William. We loved our stay here.

We loved Gariwerd Farm Camp. The property was so peaceful and well maintained. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were spotless. We only used the toilet because we had our own shower and cooking facilities but it was good to know they were there. It was great having the place to ourselves and the kangaroos, wallabies and birds. We even saw some emus at The Nook. The view of Gariwerd in the morning was stunning, especially as the sun came out. Despite being beautifully secluded, it's surprisingly close (5 min drive) to Moyston General Store which makes great coffee and a lovely oat chai. Thanks Jason, til next time.

Perfect secluded spot to take time away.
We loved the clear views of the Grampians the space provided and that our two kelpies could roam and play comfortable.
Having access to the kitchen and bathroom in the farm house make camping setup so much simpler.

Whilst we had the most horrendous weather during our Christmas trip (5 days of torrential rain, thunder, lightning & hail!!) we had a wonderful stay. The views (when the clouds cleared) were sensational, we loved being so far away from other people, the wildlife was plentiful, the bathroom and kitchen facilities were a welcome addition to our tent, as was the lounge that we escaped to on a number of evenings.
Jason was a great host & provided detailed instructions & directions.
We enjoyed it so much that we booked our next trip before we’d left!

Beautiful spot, was great to have the use of the house for the shower and toilet. Lots of animals around which was great. Really close to Halls Gap, Ararat and the wineries. Jason was super organized and very helpful. Loved it.

We loved camping at Gariwerd Farm - our favourite Hipcamp to date. Jason’s directions and instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Although we are self contained, we appreciated having access to the hot water shower and toilet in the cottage - there is also a kitchen which we didn’t use. Everything is spotlessly clean. Beautiful view up to Grampian mountains and a great fireplace with clean grill in an iron bathtub which we cooked on. . Our dog was in heaven off leash. In the 2 days that we stayed on the farm we didn’t see another person - so private! Also great was the proximity of a lovely lady, Marie from Madpaws who looked after our dog at her home in Moyston so we could visit the national park.
