Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. We had such a great time at this campsite! The location was perfect — right by the river, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It was the ideal spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. H was absolutely fantastic — super welcoming, easy to chat with, and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with beautiful scenery and top-notch hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

Loved camping here, cute dogs and lovely spot by the river. The host was super welcoming, even made a little food for us! Super close to the town as well which was handy, but still quiet and peaceful. Thanks for having us!

Let's begin with the communication; we got a message a few days out including tips on getting to the property. When we arrived we were greeted by Kim and her dogs; who are the sweetest little things. The site was beautiful and peaceful.

Lovely camping spot. Plenty of space to set up camps all along the river. The location is beautiful surrounded by nature. Very calm and quiet. Loved waking up to the sounds of birds and river. The host, Kim was very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend camping here.

Loved the place, excellent camp site. Walk to Nooj pub. Cute dogs which gave us much desired company and privacy! Each campsite was along the creek, wonderful.

Maybe my 4th time visiting. I come here as a mini retreat. Always consistently good. The host is a warm and kind person. The spot is peaceful and nice for my dog to run freely without any worries. Will be coming back again.

Noojee Riverside Camp
Nice, quiet riverside camp surrounded by tree ferns & forest. There are 4 sites by the Latrobe River, suitable for a campervan, pop top, campertrailer or small - medium caravans. We took our 17.5 foot caravan & stayed on the larger site - the site in most of the photos. This site could easily accommodate vans larger than ours. The track down to the campsites was fine for our friends in their 2WD towing a trailer, but can get a bit slippery apparently. The moderate slope was no issue for our 4WD towing a 2500kg caravan. Easy walking distance to The Toolshed, the Little Red Duck Cafe & Noojee Hotel. Firewood can be collected from the forest around Noojee from 1 March to 30 June (Autumn season) & 1 September to 30 November (Spring season) from miles & miles of roadside Firewood Collection areas. Unfortunately, something must be going on with Kim's septic system, as we were asked not to place toilet paper into the flushing toilet.

Tranquil getaway only 1 hour from Melbourne. Kim was very welcoming and greeted us upon arrival. The campsite was decently sized with ample room for our 2 children to run around. They adored feeding the pet goat and playing fetch with the host's friendly dogs.

It was a wonderful experience. Great for those looking for some privacy surrounded by nature, just a few meters from the river. Kim was very kind . Her dogs are very sweet, they came to visit us 🥰🥰 We will definitely be back .

A great little place to stay for a few nights, the host is very friendly and gave us a choice of camp sites. Clean river flowing by the camp site but not direct access, you have to climb over some fallen trees. Clean toilet about 100m away, just remember to bring loo paper.

Nicely set on a river and very private. Kim is very friendly and has some gorgeous animals also which are all very friendly. Will definitely be returning. Tool shed bar and bistro is also very close for a great feed and some beautiful gardens.

Kim was an amazing host even bought us a small snack she made which was absolutely delicious. The spot was absolutely perfect and we were lucky to have had perfect weather. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.
