Easy directions to camp. Nice and close (15 mins) to the Spirit of Tasmania terminal at Devonport. We met the owner who showed us where to fish and see the platypus and where to fill up with water. Campsite was nice and open and big. We saw the horses but no platypus. Great camp, highly recommend.

This is a beautiful and unique campground which I recommend to any who are passing by, or going to Tassie on the Spirit of Tasmania, and need a good spot close to the terminal. It is only 20 minutes from there but seems miles away from the hub of Devonport. Steve is a kind and gracious host, and the outlook from site 2 Dam Front is superb. You might even be lucky to spot the resident platypus! Bonus points for having firewood available for purchase to use there, or take with you for a nominal fee. Thanks, Steve.

This was a fabulous place to begin my six week camping trip around Tassie. Surrounded by rolling hills, trees and overlooking two beautiful dams, it was perfect! A fire pit was provided, with the option to purchase firewood and kindling on site through an honesty box, so I had a great fire to finish off a wonderful day. Steve was the perfect host with clear and prompt communication and directions. I've rebooked for my return to Devonport. I highly recommend for self-contained vehicles.

Great host, friendly and welcoming. The site has a lovely outlook and feels peaceful and relaxed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have just booked our second stay and are really looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend.

Fantastic spot to camp up for a few days. Lovely farm, with friendly sheep and horses. Our spot was right on the dam with a lovely big tree for shade. Steve was a really friendly host, great to have a chat to. Top spot, looking forward to returning.

Stayed here for 9 nights. It was a magical time watching the platypus play and the swan and ducks on the dam. Hubby managed to catch and release a couple of trout from the dams. Had more success in the top dam. Shep’s farm is situated in a great area with easy access to Devonport and Ulverstone and quite a number of local wineries. Great place.

Loved being right near the dam on Site 1. We could watch the platypus play while eating our breakfast. Great to have access to spring water as well as we stayed for 9 nights. Very quiet area and close to lots of things to do. Would highly recommend Shep’s Farm to anyone.

Such a beautiful peaceful place. We had a wonderful view of the dam and surrounding farmland. We were lucky enough to encounter a platypus in 2 of the dams, we were visited by a wallaby and saw plenty of bird life.
Steve was very helpful and he made us feel very welcome!
Highly recommend staying a few days at Sheps Farm!!!

Easy to find and the area is just beautiful, Sites are well manicured. Waking up next to the lake just bliss. Would 100% stay again. May do so on the way home!

A stunning camp, which we were lucky to have all to ourselves. Being lower than the surrounding hills gives great protection from the winds.
The surrounding area is postcard perfect. Platypus and trout in the dams, green rolling hills, sheep grazing around. Quiet and peaceful, yet close to civilisation. This is what Hipcamp is about! All within 15 odd minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania. My only regret is only staying three. Nights!
