Farm on Franklin - Tasmania
We loved our stay at Farm on Franklin, such a beautiful place we were greeted by Sarah at the property and were allowed to pick our own grassy spot by the river.
This place is perfect for families and you can bring your pet, fire pots provided and short walks by the river add to the serenity.
this place is only 10 minutes from Port Sorell and close to the national park.
Easy to follow directions 5 minutes on a gravel road to get to the site, some telstra coverage with semi level sites that only took some minor leveling of our 21 ft van.
we would love stay again and would highly recommend to quiet couples travelling with their pets.

We absolutely loved camping here! We had beautiful views of the mountains and river. We loved kayaking along the river and caught some wild oysters there! It was an incredible experience. My son loved playing with Sarah's kids!

Loved our night at Sarah’s Farm on Franklin. Campsites are fairly close, but we went over Easter where I assume it was busier than normal. Our dogs loved the proximity to water for swims by the little jetty, and the communal fire was a lovely little spot to chat with other campers ☺️ a great first night for us on hipcamp

Lovely peaceful spot overlooking Franklin Rivulet which is tidal saltwater so wasn’t really suitable for our Hobi pedal kayak, but we enjoyed the serenity and were able to have a well supervised campfire. Some wood was left each day. It was a good place to do day drives to Narawntapu National Park and Port Sorell. Lots of tall trees along the edge which we avoided with our big caravan but we found a suitable spot. Thank you Sarah for allowing us to share your peaceful space.

The camp was close to the river . The setting was tranquil and quiet.
Sarah was most helpful, Greeted us on arrival and offered any help and support we needed. Great spot to camp.

Nice spot, lovely hosts and their delightful children.
The river is tidal but can go kayaking and fishing most of the day. A jetty as well not far from camp-site which is nice and large fire pit with seating, table and lights for a get together.

I loved camping at Farm on Franklin.
The hosts Mark and Sarah were very hospitable and ensured that we were enjoying our stay.
The farm is an ongoing work in progress with beautiful river views and the sites are well spaced apart . Highly recommend great experience !

A beautiful stay along the river. Sarah and her family are so welcoming and inviting. The river is nice for a cruise on the canoes at high tide and it’s extremely peaceful.

We had a lovely time at Farm on Franklin. A nice quiet spot with a water view, we went for two kayaks, went walking on the bush tracks. Sarah and her children, Ethan, Bonnie and Charlie were so friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there

I was a bit nervous on the road in which Is perceived to be long and would recommend 4x4 if towing a caravan. We had a 7.5 metre MH, and we managed OK in the dry conditions. It is a bush camp and if you like this it would tick your boxes. We met Sara and she was lovely. I wish them well on their venture.

Lovely views, very peaceful. Perfect spot for dogs. Sarah and her children are very friendly.
Enjoyed fishing in the river & catching some yummy brim. We will definitely return again.

Lovely quiet location with easy access to the sites.
Hosts were very welcoming. Loaned my husband a kayak to go up the river for oysters. He ate 2 and had rampant diarrhoea so beware - found out there was a water issue at neighbouring beach with E. coli contamination
River is tidal and has muddy banks so it was problematic for our 2 dogs as the mud was sticky and smelly. High tide was the best time to take the dogs to the river as they could swim without the mud.

Rustic bush type camp. Quiet and peaceful while we were there. . Recommend 4wd for larger vans to access property easily. River nice at high tide. Take insect repellents as you normally would for bush camping. Great for those wanting to just read and get away. Phone and internet reception.
