Barrenjoey Farm is a large 30-acre private estate in the heart of historic Richmond, just 20 minutes from Hobart’s CBD. We’re located metres from town, the local caravan park, and some of Tasmania’s best vineyards. Hobart Airport is just ten minutes away. Our farmstay is the ideal base to explore Hobart, the Tasman Peninsula, and the gateway to Freycinet. With secure pin-code gated entry, you can choose from a variety of sites in the back paddock or a powered site near our equestrian arena. The property offers great access for all vehicle types but all setups must be self-contained as there are no onsite facilities. You’re welcome to interact with our sweet alpaca family and our two Swiss Blacknose sheep Shawn and Timmy (a breed known as the cutest sheep in the world!). Well-behaved pets are welcome but must be secured at all times to protect our farm animals. The closest water and dump points are just ten minutes away in Sorell and Cambridge. Our farm is perfect for families and travelers seeking a peaceful escape from the crowds and noise of busy caravan parks. ........... About Us: We’ve made a home at Barrenjoey Farm, along with our four wild and wonderful kids. The farm is built on land cared for by the Palawa people for tens of thousands of years. A place to exist in tune with the seasons, grow food, raise animals, and let the kids run barefoot. This powered site is located beside our equestrian arena and offers beautiful views across the farm and surrounding vineyards. The site is flat and grassed, providing a peaceful and scenic spot to relax. Please note that there are no toilet or water amenities on-site. All guests must be fully self-contained and are required to remove all waste upon departure. We recommend assessing current and forecast weather conditions before booking, as there is a small grassed slope (pictured) that may be unsuitable for some vans in wet weather. A local food hamper — including sourdough, eggs, milk, and other regional goodies — can be arranged for a small additional fee. Please request this when making your booking.

Very large open area, mainly flat terrain. Please note there is no water, electricity or sewage hookup on these sites. There are no bathroom amenities so guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Note 3M wide gate access. Please assess current and forecast conditions before booking, as there is a small grassed sloop (pictured) that may be unsuitable for some vans during wet weather. Fantastic communication made arrival very easy. Beautiful location with lovely views. Close to so many beautiful wineries and the gorgeous town of Richmond. We will be back!

We loved our day/night here. The hosts were so lovely and accomodating. Our son was able to feed the animals, which he loved. It was a quick drive in to the beautiful Richmond village. The sunset was also stunning! We would definitely stay again. Sarah and Elliott from QLD!

Enjoyed a lovely overnight stay at Barrenjoey. Fiona was very responsive and welcoming and greeted us on arrival with a power cord extension and gave us some local tips on where to eat and best things to do in Richmond. A perfect peaceful place to stay thank you.
