This property is located at the rear of the owner's land and is essentially a large paddock bordered by trees. Access was straightforward, following clear signage from the main road to the gate. During our visit in summer, the grass was dry, and a fire ban was in place. I can imagine this would be an ideal spot for a winter getaway, with a fire.
Over the weekend, we had the entire area to ourselves and found a beautifully shaded spot to relax. We explored the property, including walking around the dam, and enjoyed encounters with a friendly horse and sheep. Our cat especially loved roaming the grounds and embraced his wild side.
The temperature was about 10 degrees cooler than Adelaideâif Adelaide was 35°C, it was about 27°C here. In the evening the weather became even cooler, needing warm clothing.
Shannon, our host, stopped by to greet us and was both friendly and welcoming. The property is very quiet, with the sound of the sea in the background. There are picturesque views of the surrounding hills and old grapevines.
I would recommend this location to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from caravan parks. The site is suitable only for self-contained visitors.

PADDOCK CAMPING with farm animals

Great space for many campers and the hills and trees provide a well protected area from the wind. Very private space with no sign of houses or any residential buildings. The horse and his best friend the Ram was a pleasure to witness running all over the fenced off paddocks, as both were very well behaved when I entered their paddocks for a meet and greet. "Very Funny Friend Team"
Hosts were fantastic showing myself the best place to setup to protect my camper trailer from the sun and nice to be advised the direction of sunrise and sunset for my camper trailer solar setup.
The beautiful Port Elliot Horse Shoe Bay is only 15mins away and that includes the famous and very popular Port Elliot Bakery, but best to go before peak time lunch, as the line up is insane, but worth the wait! Lol
Hosts leave you with extreme privacy, which was pleasant to know the only eyes and ears belongs to a Horse and Ram, which is pleasant unlike some caravan parks. Also no quiet time rules at 8pm or kids screaming all day long, so it was awesome feeling to be left to your own sensible rulings.
Even though there is no amenities shops and service stations are only 5 mins away with everything you need including an IGA!
I am in love with Port Elliots beach, so I will definitely be back and I thank you for the stay!!! đ¤ đ

Easy to find, really large area with trees for cover & views for miles.
Lovely meeting the very friendly Nick the horse & Kevin the sheep, they loved the carrots we packed for them. Only one other group while we were there, so it was lovely & quiet.

A fantastic location that is ideal for Goowla, Middleton , Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay
Shannon is a wealth of knowledge and very hospitality.

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we are so glad we chose Shannonâs property for our first HC experience. Shannon was very hospitable, relaxed and welcoming. His sidekick Salty was such a lovely Dog who would fetch a thrown stick all day! Would definitely recommend this Hipcamp without hesitation!

Hi Guys, great location, easy access, love the paddock layout great open space. If you need shade thereâs trees to park by. If you have kids thereâs a horse which loves carrots, also 2 sheep and ducks.

Loved camping here . There is a lot of space to choose where youâd like to set up your campsite . It was great view to wake up to also the farm animals were entertaining for my grandson and myself . Very friendly . Easy instructions to understand .

Old Middleton winery is a great spot to set up for as little or long as you want. Not far from everything you need. This place is the best of both worlds, only minutes away from beaches, main shopping strip and wineries. Shannon is a standout host, super friendly and helpful. I had some car issues that he didnât hesitate to help with and get me back on the road.

We had an amazing weekend camping at this hidden gem. The owners are super friendly, and provided super clear instructions and directions when arriving to the property.
The paddock is in great condition and is really well maintained. We were lucky to be the only group there, however if there were more people you wouldnât know it, youâve got lots of space and youâre not piled on each other.
Canât wait to come back!!

Epic spot! I zoomed in and out pretty quickly as I arrived late and had to leave early, but Shannon was super accommodating and gave me a call whilst I was en route to make sure I found the place a-ok. He was really friendly and offered me a spot right by the vines and close to the house, since I was solo travelling with my doggo and arriving late. I bet his fam would've been equally as kind and welcoming had I had the chance to meet them. Would defo recommend! đ
