Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp is located 15 minutes from Maleny in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features 3 private sites in a spectacular bush setting (and more are coming!). We welcome small groups and their pets and cater to couples and small groups looking for a secluded weekend away. There is a two-night minimum. A 4WD VEHICLE IS NEEDED JUST TO GET ONTO THE PROPERTY. THERE IS NOWHERE TO PARK VEHICLES THAT CAN NOT REACH THE SITES. Please take the track descriptions seriously. We're not embellishing just to discourage inexperienced 4WDers. These are NO JOKE. Gumtree Summit and The Gun Range are up a steep and rocky track that requires technical driving skills and a very capable vehicle. These sites are very difficult to access! In wet weather, you will need to spend a bit of time winching. You need to know what you are doing. When booking, ensure you read each site description thoroughly before requesting a booking. Fuzzy miniature galloway cattle freely roam the property here. If you are not camping at the Summit sites, where they don't tend to go, you may see us driving around in our Jeep, giving them lots of treats and cuddles. Other than that, our hope is that you don't see anyone but the local wildlife.

The Summit (High-Clearance 4WD)

Tent site · Sleeps 8
Please read this description thoroughly before submitting your booking request: The Summit is a completely private campsite surrounded by towering Gumtrees providing ample shade, and with incredible, uninterrupted sunset views. In the morning, and particularly in spring and autumn, campers often wake up above the clouds. The Maleny area is also known for its night sky photography and will soon become a rare night sky reserve! This spot is perfect for anyone looking to escape to nature. You'll have a private bush toilet and a gravity-fed rainwater tank for washing up and putting out fires. Heads up: The track to this site is strictly for experienced 4WD drivers with well-equipped 4WDs. It's a very steep, rocky, and often muddy mountain track that's not for stock vehicles. In the dry, you might make it on AT's, but in the wet, mud tires and a working winch are a must. A winch is highly recommended, especially if you don't have diff lockers. Everyone must arrive together and before dark. All vehicles must be able to reach the site; no cars can be left at the bottom as the cows will most likely use it as a scratching post. We carefully assess every vehicle submitted with the booking to determine if you can make it. We have a flexiyb cancellation policy allowing you to cancel 24hrs prior to the start of your booking, so please keep a close eye on the weather for Elaman Creek, 4552, on days leading up to your stay. Before you book, please answer these questions. Your booking will not be accepted if these questions are not answered in your booking request: 1. Vehicle Make and Model 2. Lift Height 3. Tires (size and type; minimum 32") 4. Winch? 5. Your 4WD Experience (beach driving does not count) 6. How cold should your fire be when you leave? You'll need to air down your tires to at least 25 PSI. NO TRAILERS, no exceptions! It's a bit of an adventure to get to the top, but the reward is well worth it. We have many, many repeat visitors.

Gun Range (High-Clearance 4WD)

Tent site · Sleeps 6
Welcome to The Gun Range, a completely private and secluded campsite where you can get away from it all. Surrounded by towering gum trees, this site offers a protected feel with a beautiful valley view to the west. It's a basic, no-amenities site with a large firepit—perfect for you and your mates to enjoy. As long as you leave no trace and make sure your fire is cold to the touch, you can make this space your own. The track to this site is strictly for experienced 4WD drivers in well-set-up 4WDs. It is a very steep, rocky, and often muddy mountain track that is not suitable for stock vehicles. In the dry and with some careful wheel placement, you'll make it up on ATs but in the wet AT's will quickly fill with mud turnimg into slicks. As such a good set of mud tyres is required in the wet and if you get your pressures wrong you will probably need to spend some time on the winch especially with no diff lockers. One locker is very helpful. All campers must arrive together and before dark. No driving is permitted on the property after dark due to the difficulty and danger. All vehicles must be capable of reaching the site; cars cannot be left at the bottom. We cannot offer refunds if you are unable to reach the campsite. To ensure your safety and that your vehicle is suitable, you must answer the following questions with your booking request. Bookings will be denied if any are left unanswered. 1. Vehicle Make and Model 2. Lift Height 3. Tyre size and type (minimum 32") 4. Winch? 5. 4WD Experience (beach driving does not count) 6. How cold should your fire be when you leave it? You will need to air down your tyres to at least 25 PSI. NO TRAILERS are permitted at any time. No exceptions!

Creek Camp (AWD/Trailer)

95%
(59)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 4 · Vehicles under 6 m
A private and secluded rainforest nook near a shallow creek with a fire pit, best suited for campers with a rooftop camp set-up or small 4WD camper trailer. There is a beautiful rainforest shower (cold water only) that can be turned on at your request. It is fed by a rainwater tank and we request that you utilize this water sparingly and notify us when you are leaving so we can ensure the tap is off. Small shallow rock pools are accessible via a creek walk. These are swimmable in wet seasons and shallow pools in the dry seasons. This site is the most accessible on the property and is suitable for no greater than 2T loaded 4WD trailers towed by a good 4WD. There is a shallow creek crossing but you can get across in an AWD during the dry season. We ask that campers arrive before dark as the initial access area is not owned by us and to respect our neighbours by not allowing people to drive around on their property after dark. People wishing to stay here should be respectful and quiet as neighbours are about 300m away through the bushes. If you wish to be loud, the other two sites on the property are the place to do it. You can be as loud as you want up there. You are most likely to meet our friendly miniature galloways at this site. You may also see us when we come to check on them, though we will try to disturb you as little as possible. Our cattle are cute but they are also our livelihood and their safety is our top priority. Please ensure this site is kept clean so none of them ingest or step on something dangerous. This includes hot coals, rubbish bags, glass, screws etc. Please keep in mind that they are raised as pets and therapy animals so ANY negative encounter with a person or dog (I.e. barking etc.) can affect their temperament significantly. PLEASE KEEP ALL DOGS LEASHED IN THIS AREA WHEN COWS ARE AROUND AND REMOVE THE DOG IF IT IS ANTAGONIZING THE COWS. WE HAVE THREE RULES 1. PUT OUT YOUR FIRES COMPLETELY. This means your fire is cold to the touch before you leave. Yes, unfortunately, we have to ask. It's not common sense to everyone. 2. LEAVE NO TRACE. This includes the fire pits! Please do not put anything in your fire that doesn't burn. This includes cigarette butts. 3. Never approach the cattle with off-leash dogs. Sensible/well-trained dogs are included.
