Top o’ the Ridge
A beautiful peaceful spot on top of a hill with panoramic views of tinaroo dam and pasture. Enjoyed walking, feeding the goats in an adjacent field and kayaking in the courtesy kayaks made available for guests. A very welcome breeze and warm friendly hosts.

Wakana Ridge was a stunning place to stay for the weekend! Endless amazing views with easy access down to Tinaroo dam where the kids had a ball on the kayaks provided. Katrina and Jesse we're fabulous hosts, so welcoming and friendly.
An added bonus too was feeding the cheeky goats and the kids collecting the chicken eggs.
We absolutely loved it here and will be back.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay! With 360 degree views of the tablelands & lake Tinaroo, its hard to beat this place. The hosts were amazing too, super helpful & have the cutest goats! Can't recommend this place enough!

Great spot with fantastic views, sunsets & starry nights. Added bonus of lovely dry firewood & a crate of goodies to entertain everyone. Even has garbage bins & a dump point!!!

Such a beautiful spot. We spent three nights with Trina and Jesse and loved it.
Trina’s communication is second to none. Some of the best we have experienced on hip camps if not the best.
The options they make available are exceptional.
Being off the land we didn’t worry about the farm experience but took advantage of the fresh eggs which where excellent and Jesse delivered two loads of fire wood.
The site was freshly mowed and great touches with a big box of books and games. A dump point and fire pit.
The view is simply stunning.
As mentioned in their brief you are on top of a ridge and can be windy but if you set up with the van behind you it’s no issue. The view makes it worthwhile.
Would recommend Trina and Jesse place to anyone.
You will be well looked after.

We absolutely loved it here! Trina and Jesse are so welcoming and helpful. Awesome site and an even better view. The kids loved the animals and feeding the goats. They even brought up a box full of books and activities for the kids.
They also offer bins, drinking water and a dump point.
You really can’t go wrong with this spot. Highly highly recommend!!

Katrina was super welcoming and friendly. The view from the fire pit was magic and so peaceful. The goats were hilarious. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again.

Very tidy, green and well set up camp spot all to ourselves with amazing views and a much shorter and easier walk than it looks like in the pictures to get down to the lake. Very helpful and friendly hosts and goats 🐐 😀.

We had the most incredible stay at Wakana Ridge Homestead! From the moment we arrived, Katrina and Jessie made us feel completely welcome with their warm, down-to-earth vibes. Their passion for homesteading is truly inspiring — we got a glimpse into their amazing lifestyle, met their friendly goats, and even sampled Katrina’s homemade Davidson plum jam (which was absolute magic).
The campsite itself is perched high on the ridge with views that could be straight out of a travel brochure — sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. We cooled off in the lake, soaked up the serenity, and genuinely felt like we had discovered a hidden gem.
To top it all off… we left with 6 baby chickens in tow! 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥
Couldn’t recommend this spot more highly — already planning our next visit. Thanks again Katrina and Jessie for such a memorable experience!

Wow. What a stunning place. The view is amazing. It is so peaceful and the stars are so bright. I ordered the grazing board. It was so well presented and such a great variety with homemade plum jam (you won’t find any better). Perfect for sharing around the fire. Katrina was the best host. Nothing was too much effort. Having rubbish bins and a dump

We had a lovely 2 days at this beautiful camp-site. Despite having some rain, we set our camper trailer up on top of a wonderful hill overlooking a branch of Tinaroo and green rolling hills. Welcome by Katrina who was a wonderful host and very responsive and easy to communicate with. Loved having the gosts and cows nearby. Beautiful sunsets and stars whilst sitting around the camp fire. Thanks so much.

I stayed at Wakanaridge Homestead over the weekend for a little getaway with my two dogs, and it was absolutely perfect. Katrina and Jesse were so welcoming from the moment we arrived. On Saturday morning, I joined the “cuppa and chat” and loved hearing about all the exciting things they have planned for this amazing property. The views are simply breathtaking, and the whole place has such a peaceful atmosphere. Both Katrina and Jesse went out of their way to be helpful and kind, and it truly made my stay feel special. So very grateful, and can’t wait to come back

Absolutely the best views! Completely breathtaking! We will be back with out a doubt for more nights next time. Host is fantastic, so knowledgeable about the land and animals, so welcoming and a tour in the buggy was a highlight. Kayaking is so peaceful, and sitting at the fire just perfect. We LOVED camping at Wakana Ridge! The lovely hosts went above and beyond to making us feel welcome to their homestead! Our little boy even made friends with their two sons and played parcel parcel all together. Such a beautiful view and quiet spot to enjoy the view. We also loved feeding the goats each day and having a giggle with them. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending to all our friends and family for an awesome place to camp! 😁

We camped at Wakaka Ridge Homestead over the show long weekend with a group of four couples, three kids, and three dogs, we honestly had the best time. The property is stunning, peaceful, and super family-friendly.
The hosts went above and beyond, letting us feed the goats, cuddle baby chicks, and grab fresh eggs straight from the coop. We were able to pick up firewood right on site and even borrowed kayaks to explore beautiful Lake Tinnaroo, which was such a highlight.
There was plenty of space for all of us, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. The kids loved every minute of it, and so did the dogs. It felt like one of those weekends where everything just flows.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting a wholesome getaway with a bit of adventure and a lot of charm. We’ll definitely be back.

One of the best spot to camp in Far north QLD❤️We have camped in many different areas in FNQ but never one on like this. We loved the view from this camping spot. Very thankful to Katrina and family for warm welcome. Loved feeding goats, Kayaking and the serenity. Absolutely beautiful and peace weekend🥰

Great little spot on top of the hill, over looking the stunning Lake Tinaroo.
I am lucky to have had my car awning but you will need to bring some kind of shade to shelter from the sun as previous campers stated also.
Lots of cool birdlife and it was nice waking up to the cows mooing good morning. :)
It’s a little bit of a hike to get back up the hill to camp from the Lake. Doing that walk a few times a day was definitely a good workout!
Had fun meeting Katrina’s chickens and goats, I now have a new found love of goats haha
Will definitely be back oneday. :)

Wow great views of Lake Tinaroo and surrounding area, large level site with bore water and dump point. We just spent 2 nights camping in a ground tent and enjoyed it immensely including the mown path down to the lake. Just a note bring your own shade.

We had the most wonderful stay.
The ridge was spacious and the views glorious.
The goats, cows and chickens entertained the whole family, the kids even got to feed + pat the goats daily.
The lake was a short stroll away, we would have gone swimming but it was a little cool the weekend we stayed.
Katrina and Jesse were extremely outgoing and generous in their communication and very thoughtful in their set up of the ridge. For example the water tap, dump point, bins, fire pit and firewood were really useful.
Its an excellent place to base yourself for a few delightful days in the Atherton Tablelands region.
We stayed 3 nights but could have easily stayed a week!
We will be back and will definitely recommend The Ridge to family and friends travelling.
