Your Exclusive Off-Grid Farm Stay (where lake views and mischievous goats await). Secluded yet perfectly located 70 acre retreat in Barrine, Atherton Tablelands. Just 12 mins from the quaint town of Yungaburra and less than an hour from Cairns, where nature, adventure, and relaxation come together. Nestled on the edge of Lake Tinaroo, our exclusive one-site-only campground offers 360-degree views, lake access, and a true off-grid experience—with local attractions just around the corner. Wake up to the sounds of nature and spend your days kayaking or fishing on the lake, bird watching, taking a refreshing swim, or simply unwinding by the water. Adventure seekers can explore hiking trails, waterfalls, and local markets or indulge in nearby cheese and chocolate factories. Lake Barrine and Lake Eacham just 5-10 mins away. At Wakana Ridge Homestead, we’re building our organic farm, embracing sustainable off-grid living, regenerative farming and welcoming guests who appreciate nature’s beauty. Animal lovers will love joining in to feed the goats and chickens—making this the perfect escape for families, couples, and anyone who loves the great outdoors. Our campsite offers: - Easy access for caravans, campers, and tents - Water connection and dump point - Lakefront access for watersports and fishing (BYO boat) - Nearby boat ramp - Privacy—only one booking at a time. Optional ‘No Farm Fuss – Just Relax’ add-on for a quieter stay. - Local knowledge for the best sightseeing spots - Lots of add-ons to choose from under 'Extras' when booking (don't miss out!) - Pet-friendly on application. Slow down, stretch out, and settle into nature. Here you’ll find privacy, comfort, and a little farm magic—whether you’re here to rest, roam, or reconnect. P.S. Discount offered for weekly stays or big families (4+ kids). Keen to camp for free? We offer occasional free stays in exchange for a bit of weeding🌿 -Message us before booking! Please Note – Wakana Ridge is in its early days, and we’re still finding our feet as hosts. We’re slowly building and improving the space, learning as we go, and doing our best to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Your good vibes and feedback mean the world. Thanks for being part of the journey!Wakana Ridge Homestead – Exclusive Campsite - 360-degree views Our one-and-only campsite sits atop our future house site—a roomy, grassy hilltop pad offering privacy and sweeping 360-degree views of the farm, Lake Tinaroo, and the surrounding national park mountains. Room to kick a ball, roll out a picnic rug, or just soak in the view. You’ll be right beside the goat paddock (don’t worry, they don’t snore), with a short walk down to Lake Tinaroo. When the season allows, enjoy a fire pit under the stars. Just a heads-up — being on a hill, it can get a bit windy or muddy during our tropical seasons. Check the weather forecast before you come and pack accordingly (gumboots are your friend). Most of the wind/rain comes in from the southeast — we’ll guide you on arrival to help position your camp for protection. If things get too wet, we’ll let you know. Shade’s limited, so bring your own, and note there are sometimes electric fences nearby if you’ve got little ones. Guests must be self-contained, but we offer: • Bore water access at site • Dump point for emptying your porta-loo • Potable water on request • Fire pit (seasonal) • Bins • Firewood (extra) Activities: • Take a few steps from your camp and feed the goats some treats—we’ll supply them when you arrive • Baby goats and chickens to meet • Wide open space to kick a ball, toss a frisbee, fly a kite, or just let the kids run wild • Bike-friendly long gravel driveway for kids (but please no motorbikes) • Lake access: A short walk down the hill for swimming, fishing, kayaking and a boat ramp down the road. • Wildlife/Birdwatching: Spot brolgas, jabirus, kingfishers, pale-headed rosellas, kookaburras, sea eagles, bandicoots, and more • New Fruit Orchard: Take a tour and maybe take home a pumpkin or some homemade Davidson plum jam and farm-fresh eggs • Beware of ticks and wild animals (snakes/pigs/dogs) Our home/office (shouse) is 100m downhill—out of sight for privacy but close enough if you need anything. As a young family living onsite, you might see us heading to the lake for a swim or hear kids playing in the distance (and probably a rooster crowing!) Whether you’re a couple chasing calm, a family chasing kids, or a traveller chasing sunsets, let us know how we can make your stay great✨
