Welcome to The Old Avocado Farm — a working avocado farm perched at 2,000 feet in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where the elevation keeps things refreshingly cool, even through summer. The property is alive with nature — a resident platypus family calls the large spring-fed dam home, and the surrounding rainforest and orchards teem with wallabies, echidnas, and some of the most abundant birdlife in the region. Wander the rainforest walking trail, sit quietly by the dam at dusk, and let the hinterland do the rest. CAMPSITE HIGHLIGHTS - Avocado Orchard Campsite - we will give you complimentary avocados in season - Park your vehicle or RV in the shade of our avocado trees. Wake to fresh hinterland air and a chorus of rainforest birdsong. - Nature Trails & Rainforest Walk - A scenic trail winds through the avocado groves, past the spring-fed dam, and into natural rainforest — with sweeping hill views and quiet nooks perfect for reflection or a great photo. - Spring-Fed Dam - A large, deep and beautiful dam sits at the heart of the property — home to our platypus family and a magnet for birdlife. One of the property's most special spots. - Campfire Evenings - As the sun drops below the range, gather around a crackling fire — with company or in peaceful solitude. - Well-behaved pets are welcome. Leashes required to protect our abundant wildlife. - Stargazing - At 2,000 feet with minimal light pollution, the night sky here is extraordinary. INFORMATION - 20 min drive to Maleny - 1 hour to Sunshine Coast beaches - 10 min to Bellthorpe National Park (4WD tracks & walking trails): parks.des.qld.gov.au - Flat sites for vehicles, RVs, caravans and campers - Campers must be self-sufficient (own toilet and shower) - Pets on leash at all times - All rubbish must be removed and disposed of offsite - The avocado orchard is our livelihood — please do not pick the fruit
