Tremayne - The Old Avocado Farm

Secluded and blissfully quiet camping. A rare gem of a site on hipcamp! What a beautiful spot to visit. Neil and Joss were so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the hilltop orchard and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset views. We walked down and saw the platypus in the dam and walked through the rainforest. Can’t wait to visit again and thanks for sharing your lovely property with us.

The Old Avacado Farm was very peaceful with beautiful scenery. Plenty of space to next camp site. Leisurely stroll down to the dam and then rainforest walk. Hosts Ian and Jocelyn were very friendly and helpful.

The best weekend away

We loved our stay at Tremayne! Being amongst the avocado trees in full fruit was just magical, and Neil and Joss are such friendly and accommodating hosts. We ended up at the Summit, which was a grassy and expansive site at the end of the avocado rows. It was super private and overlooked the valley, and we could access the rainforest walk and dam wall. We didn’t see any platypus but I think our kids were too loud 😂 Joss and Neil kindly delivered us some firewood on our second night because we had run out. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the spot by the dam. Great easy to access and flat spot for some privacy. Would recommend confirming the site is only reserved for your booking as we did have some unexpected neighbours. The owners were lovely and VERY communicative. We enjoyed the queit views and the rainforest walk nearby.

Tremayne Avo farm was a fantastic place to spend the long weekend. This was my first experience using Hipcamp and I couldn’t have asked for a better first time. The hosts were lovely people and their property was very well maintained. The forest walk was a great little addition to the camp area and the chairs down near the lake were great for a quick change of scenery. Neil and Joss would come for a chat and a laugh during the day and helped us out heaps when we got stuck. Would definitely recommend this place.

Second stay here at Tremayne, and yet again another superb experience. We’ve now stayed by the dam, and up on the hill and both were fantastic. Joss & Neil are 11 out of 10 lovely :)

Our stay at The Grove Hideaway site at The Old Avodado farm was terrific. Host Neil was very friendly, met us on arrival and gave clear helpful directions. The site was quiet, well maintained with a lovely outlook, and with a nice grassy area to set up.

You'll find serenity at the Summit!

The Summit with views

We loved our stay at Tremayne, The Old Avocado Farm. Neil and Joss were friendly, easy going, and hospitable hosts. We found it to be a relaxing, private, and serene getaway. We enjoyed lovely views from our site at the Summit including loads of bird life. If you prefer to be secluded from other campers, we would definitely recommend the Summit for your stay. There is no other campers within view from this site which we appreciated as our pup can sometimes be a bit funny around strangers. She still had plenty of room to run around on a long runner which we brought with us. The other sites appeared to have space between them but were within view of other campers so this is something to keep in mind if you prefer a bit more privacy. We were parked on a bit of a slope but still managed to find space to set up 2 vehicles, 2 small vans, a small tent and the fire pit which was provided. Nothing the 4x4 couldn't handle! Would definitely suggest packing warm depending on when you travel as it can get a bit blowy and cool especially at night. Would definitely recommend the rainforest walk which loops back past the dam. As suggested by Neil, spray some Bushman's repellent around your feet to deter the leeches. Also be sure to check your pup's feet if you take them along! Shoes with good traction are an absolute must as it can be slippery terrain with a mix of somewhat steep hills and water crossings. Overall, highly recommend as a beautiful place to getaway for a short break.

Another beautiful stay at the Avo farm. The rainforest walk and running streams is really nice especially in hot weather. Absolutely private, the occasional dog walker to wave to. Our 2nd stay and certainly not our last. Thanks for letting us stay on your beautiful property.

Beautiful site, playful platypus!

This was our 2nd time at the avocado farm and first time at the beautiful Lakeside site. What a magical spot! Quiet, secluded and right on the lake! The site is beautifully maintained, mowed and quite flat. We saw playful platypus in the lake several times every day - what a treat! Our hosts, Neil and Joss, are by far the most helpful, attentive and friendly hosts we have come across on hipcamp to date. It's a pleasure to stay with them and we'll definitely be back! Highly recommend this camp. A small tip for this particular site. We have a 15ft hybrid camper, I wouldn't recommend anything bigger. There are some quite steep sections to get in (and out) of the site. The track is really well maintained but it could get slippery if it rains. Very doable with a capable 4wd but absolutely worth it! There are plenty of beautiful spots up the top too which have easy access.

Just wow. Neil’s property is so well maintained from the moment you drive in. Beautifully cared for and manicured. It was a breeze finding and the sites are immaculate. Just 1hr 12min from Brisbane - genuinely can’t wait to get back to this hidden gem.
