Enjoyed our stay at Adrian’s place , easy access and sheltered at the bottom of the hill . Bit of noise from the shed’s generator that seemed to run most of the night but didn’t stop us from relaxing . 👍

Loved camping at Adrian’s place. Super easy to get to, yet it feels like you’re miles away from everything. The land is open, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The site was easy to get to with my 2WD, and it felt really safe and private. I’ll definitely be coming back , I’ve found my go-to place to escape from the city and recharge. Highly recommend!

Great location for a short stopover, very close to Dreamworld and shopping centres. Great phone reception, beautiful views of the sunset. Midgies were intense but not surprising considering proximity to the river and mangroves. Best to spray your fly screens as they manage to get through them.

We booked this campsite for 5 nights but ended up leaving after just one very uncomfortable night. The site is in a shocking state and clearly not cared for at all.
The grass is waist-high in most places, which attracts swarms of mozzies and leaves only one barely usable patch to camp. You’ll find yourself praying no one else turns up because there simply isn’t room. While it’s listed as unmanned, there’s no excuse for how neglected the entire place is.
What really stood out:
• A burnt-out car rusting in the bush
• A broken swing set with what looked like rusty handcuffs
• Dumped chairs, tarp, debris, and scrap metal scattered around
• A smashed-up security camera
• Loose wires and tubing in the dirt
• Overgrown grass and no maintained pathways or facilities
It felt more like an abandoned lot than a paid campsite, and we definitely didn’t feel safe leaving anything unattended.
We contacted Hipcamp on the first night to raise our concerns, but they refused to do anything beyond “talking to the owner.” What was he going to do — pop by in the morning and mow the entire block? Highly unlikely.
And for anyone thinking “maybe they’ll fix it” — don’t hold your breath. We looked at previous reviews and it’s clear others have raised the same issues before. Nothing has changed. The owner’s promises to rectify it don’t hold weight — it’s clearly been left this way for some time.
Really disappointing. This could be a beautiful site with regular upkeep.

Amazing view top of hill, 360 degrees mangrove and trees. They had prepared woodfire and put a tarp on it to protect. So close from Brisbane and gc. Some sandflies but manageable. No shower and toilets but water point at entrance. Strongly recommend. Anthony very friendly.

We love the locality of this campsite to Dreamworld. We loved the open space and listening to the wildlife including Koalas and frogs. We loved hearing the roar of the ocean in the distance. We didn't enjoy being stuck at the gate and we quickly departed in the morning due to the masses of midges eating us during the night even after applying Bushman's insect repellent.

This was a fine spot to sleep overnight while passing through the Gold Coast. It was close to the city and location was easy to find. Unfortunately the owner or previous campers had left broken chairs and tarps and there was also a burnt car nearby so it felt like a bit of a dump. There was also a security camera in the tree next to the tent which was bizarre.

After getting turned back by rough conditions at Jacobs Well boat ramp around 7:00 pm we were able to drag our gear up Adrian’s Land to settle into a nice night and even better sunrise.

We absolutely loved our weekend at this stay. Adrian is a good guy and was great to communicate with.
What’s not to like about this place. The views, the privacy, the fact that it’s basically in town but feels like your 100km west.
Yeah there’s mozzies for 30 min at dusk but where isn’t there. 5g phone reception means we could stream the footy which is rare with most camp stays. We stayed in a 2wd camper van and no issues getting in. Will definetly return to this gem !

We loved the caravan camping on Adrian’s land.
Nice and flat open area with good access for Starlink. Great location, secluded hideaway but really only minutes to theme parks and shopping districts and short 30min drive to Cavill avenue in Surfers
We highly recommend this place for your next visit to Gold Coast
And our Kelpie loved the open area to sniff around.
Thanks Adrian for being so accompanying and letting us arrive for an early check in

What a great hidden gem! It feels like you're camping in a secluded spot, yet you're so close to shops, theme parks, and the marina. I’ll definitely book again.

We chose this site for a quick night away and to test out our new caravan. For what we needed to do it was perfect. Great views. It did rain and the access road can get a bit muddy but we got through with minimal issues.

The campers on the hill very nosie and the fact that the last night we eere there, they where putting things in the fire to explode. You need to put a time in place for people to quite down. And you need too fix the gates they are a danger. Maybe also state that a good insect repellet is needed. Overall we had a good time. Thank you.

Entry gates need repair as each is chained to a tree so using tree as a hinge makes it difficult to open.
Owner lives 30 mins away so no on-site supervision.
A group of 24 young people in 12 vehicles were rowdy and had visitors coming and going some of whom seemed to delight in making track even more muddy.
I advised Owner who said “leave it with me “?
Nothing changed.
The noise finally ceased at 2.10 am.
I will never stay at another Hip Camp if Owner is not on premises or very close by.
This Owner was 30 mins away.
Site consists of a small hill with flat area on top for 12 to 15 vehicles.
It is only location where you can see above the trees which surrounded the site.
Consequently there are not many flat sections that are suitable which made it hard for some people in tents camping on a slope.
Owner said he is not into Caravans so not aware of the requirement for level
or near level places for people to use?
There are not specific sites allocated so first in best dressed.
Don’t arrive late otherwise you may have trouble finding a suitable spot?
The whole surface of this location can best be described as rough under foot.
Therefore it is not possible for Owner to
use a conventional tractor pulled lawn mower.
His only option appears to be is to use a tractor drawn slasher because of rough ground so expect ankle height and above grass.
The price was I think a very high $66 for one person with a Slide on Camper.
Other Sites within 50 to 100 km all seem to be around $36.

We had a great stay here, Adrian kindly allowed us to bring a large group, there’s plenty of space to set up. I recommend getting the spot at the top of the hill for the best views and sunset :)

Booked last minute after our caravan park closed due to storm damaged. Host was great to deal with, easy access would recommend arriving in daylight to find the perfect spot. Location was amazing close to all the theme parks and shops. Definitely bring to Mozzie spray after the recent storms they are Aplenty. Very safe and secure spot to leave your van.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the views were just incredible from the site at the top of the hill. Would love to stay here again. We had an off grid 23.6ft van and navigated to the top of the hill safely, we just took it slow.
Only items to note are that the mosquitos can but a little nuts, and the top of the hill is win exposed. Nothing silly, just stay safe and use heaps of Bushman’s!!!

Location is very good to Theme parks. Sunrise view is fantastic. But the grass really needs to be splashed as the mozzies and sunflies are horrible in summer afvo & night. We had to drive to nearby Bunnings to get many mosquito swirls and candles to smoke the flies away, even though we all had bites everywhere and the bites last for a few days very very itchy. Suggest the owner to prepare sandflies for summer. BTW, the owner is very nice and kind.

The site was beautiful and would of been great if it weren't for the midges and mosquitos, we doused on the bug spray as soon as we arrived but even two coats didn't stop them maybe we just had a bad night but ended up having to leave at 1am in the morning because of the heat and the mosquito and midges bites covering us even in our tents, reviews mentioned mozzies but this wasn't just mozzies this was swarms of mozzies and midges that stopped us from being able to sleep
