We are the only Hipcamp in the District with a real amenity block and flush toilets, hot showers and powered sites! No designated camp spots. Welcome to Kia Ora Pony Club grounds, a pretty and flat 10-acre property to camp on. We are located just off Tin Can Bay Road between Gympie and Rainbow Beach which is perfect retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. You can also bring your horse to go for a ride on the beach. Dogs welcome too. Perfect for big groups camping together for the weekend or travellers passing through. Whether you're a fishing enthusiast or a horse lover, our location has something for everyone. Bring your boat and enjoy a day of fishing at Tin Can Bay or bring your horses and explore the stunning beach trails at Rainbow beach. We provide secure and spacious yards, along with ample grassy areas for your horses to graze and kids to run. If you are sleeping in a swag you are welcome to roll it on our deck. What you get: - hot showers - powered sites - real toilets - peace and quiet, often the place to yourselves - places to eat just up the road - Sublime Brewery, Liberty Goomboorian Servo - you can fill up vans with bore water but not from the tanks sorry - no permanent campers onsite, we only have travellers coming and going What we get: - to message and meet nice people :) - you to keep an eye on our stuff kinda like onsite security :) - to improve the place with the funds raised - passive income for our club so we never have to ask our members to do a Bunnings Sausage fundraiser Over summer you can park anywhere on the property and enjoy the green parklands with the security of a fenced area. Fires OK. Horse people - we have undercover yards, an arena and round yard to use or graze, send us your horse health dec before your arrival please. Unfortunately Hipcamp Insurance no longer covers horse riding, so no riding on the grounds unless you are a member of another pony club, Equestrian Australia or have your own private insurance. Heaps of rides just out the gate though through forestry tracks. (turn left out of the grounds, then left again onto Priddy Rd, cross Tin Can Bay Rd and ride for miles into the forestry) Ask any questions , we are fellow horse people afterall :)

Lovely green grass with flat spaces for parking. Naturally enjoyed the hot showers and clean flushing toilets. We chose a powered site. Well done to the Kia Ora Pony Club for providing a lovely and relaxing spot for us campers

Hidden gem, when other Hipcamps around were chockers and crowded, this place was open and spacious. I don't want to say it, but definately recommend this place, now it will be poular and busy! but good business for the Pony Club - passive income. Even some of the locals don't know about it. Ticks all of the boxes, recommended 😀

We spent 3 nights Kia Ora Pony Club with friends. We loved it! Nice big level grassy areas to set up. Peaceful location with a lovely country view and there were only a couple of other groups there during our stay. Easy drive to Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach The showers and toilets were very clean and there was easy access to power and water. We all agreed it was very good value for money and we’ll definitely be back.

Kia Ora pony club was a peaceful and quiet site with all the amenities you would need for a quiet trip away. If you go, so bring a gazebo or two as there is limited shade or tree cover.

Flushing toilets. We have pkace to ourselves, very private. Enjoyed our quiet getaway and relaxation to the Max. Convenient to Gympie where you vpuld do your grocery shopping and some souvenirs st specifically store.

Easy access, well signposted from the street and flat sites. Powered sites are 2 double powered posts and then one or two locations next to the club house. Facilities are unisex and cleanish. BYO toilet paper. Non-powered sites to the left, Western side, as you drive in and for most afternoon shade, park parallel to the road. That does mean you are parked close to the road but not much traffic. It turns out that when you book you are not allocated a spot so first in first served for the powered sites. Regional tree views and mountain views to the west. It may be difficult for the pony club to monitor, as it is not manned, but ideally it would be fairer if there was a difference in fee for those of us who are self-contained. No set sites, just mown grass. Pleasant stay for 3 nights and used the area as a base for day trips.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kia Ora Pony Club Campground Review We had an excellent stay at the Kia Ora Pony Club campground. The site is extremely well presented, with beautiful grass everywhere and not a weed in sight. You can comfortably walk and run around barefoot without any issues at all. There’s a large toilet block that was spotlessly clean, plus two hot showers, which was a great bonus. When we arrived, the people at the club welcomed us very warmly, they were super friendly, helpful, and gave us great tips on things to do in the area. The price was fantastic for what’s on offer, and there’s even power available if you want to hook up. Despite the campground being fully booked while we were there, it never felt crowded. There’s heaps of open space, plenty of room for games and activities. We played cricket and paddle ball and still had loads of space around us. Everyone we met was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The location is great too, not far from Rainbow Beach and only about 20 minutes to Gympie for shops and supplies. Overall, it was a very positive experience. We’d highly recommend staying here and would absolutely come back again.

Location was good to explore the Cooloola Coast. Plenty of space and no allocated areas to camp. We had power n water hook up. Grass needed a cut but that’s no big deal. Amenities were good and clean.

It was a pleasant stay, we only booked for 1 night but stayed then for 3 nights. Facilities are clean and perfect to use. Close to Fraser island and tin can bay and an affordable overnight stay. Contact with owner was very easy. We (german tourist) were not alone there but still plenty of room. Unfortunately not all stick to the easy rules like closing toilette lids (to avoid frogs), turning off the light or cleaning the toilettes after using. Hope that place stays open and will not be ruined by the ignorance of people. Overall, can recommend.

Kia Ora Pony Club Campground is a fantastic place to stay. There’s loads of space and the grass is absolutely beautiful ,soft, well-kept, and completely free of weeds or prickles, so it’s great underfoot. With limited sites it never feels overcrowded, which makes for a really relaxed atmosphere. The toilets are clean, the hot showers are a big bonus, and power is available if you need it. Plus, it’s close to Rainbow Beach. Highly recommended for a comfortable, easygoing camping stay.

Loved camping at the Kia Ora’s pony club, good amenities and powered sites. Lots of room so didn’t need to mingle with others and could do your own thing. Nice flat land, easy to level the caravan and easy drive to rainbow beach, tin can bay and Gympie. Easy check to book last minute and organise early check in etc with host through messages. Great value!

Lovely quiet spot with great amenities. We booked last minute and hosts were very accommodating responding quickly to my messages. We woke to beautiful views in the morning of the paddocks and hills across the road.

Great spot, facilities first class for a campground. We used as a base to explore the area from tin can Bay to rainbow Beach. The damp is not s destination on its own but a fantastic place to base yourself.

It was an absolutely incredible stay at the Kia Ora Pony Club! I’ve been living too close to the city of this is the kinda shower pressure you get out here! The views of the mountain scape across the road are phenomenal I highly recommend you wake at about 5:30 to see the cows scratching and the sun rise! Would stay again! Hosts are very understanding and kind!

I want to go back. The view is so lovely, mountain sunsets and beautiful fields. Ambience was perfected by birdsong and nighttime mooing - distant enough to be unobtrusive and enjoyable. Can’t recommend enough!

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery and peace & quiet. I actually wish I'd planned my 2 nights stay better. Love that there is hot showers, and the space to spread out and not camp on top of each other. I will 100% be back :)
