Kerry Valley Secret - Stockyard Creek and Platypus Campsites in the Scenic Rim are exclusive bush campsites - once you have booked no-one else will be able to camp at that site - and they are perfect for groups! The Stockyard Creek Campsite is situated on the babbling Stockyard Creek and there is a short walk to the bigger Albert River waterhole. This pretty spot features Silky Oaks and Ironwood trees, views to Luke's Bluff and Ding Bing falls in Lamington National Park, has plenty of shade for tents and a huge space for caravans and camper trailers to turn around in Family groups love the site for the babbling but shallow child friendly Stockyard Creek - perfect for paddling and playing in. The Platypus Campsite has larger waterholes than the Stockyard Creek Campsite and you are able to wander the 2km of river frontage while fishing. It has easy access off the main Kerry Road. Friends love our campsites for catch ups, the bird watching, small historical or nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes in the Albert River. Other groups use Kerry Valley Secret as a base camp for hiking adventures in the wilderness end of Lamington National Park. Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River. Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (firewood provided). Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring our walking tracks through the forest. Both campsites have basic toilet facilities (a portaloo) and firepit (with a free bag of kindling provided). Stockyard Creek Campsite also includes a picnic table and sink. Exclusivity is a feature of both our campsite and for that reason we only take a flat rate booking. Once you have booked no one else will be able to camp at the site, it is all yours.

Kerry Valley Secret - Platypus Campsite in the Scenic Rim is an exclusive bush campsite - once you have booked no-one else will be able to camp here - and it is perfect for groups! The campsite is situated on the babbling upper Albert River. Platypus Campsite has easy access off the main Kerry Road and has a large space for caravans and camper trailers to turn around in. Family groups love the site for the long waterholes and to wander along our 2km of Albert River frontage fishing.  Friends love it for catch ups, the bird watching, nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes to laze in. Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River. Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (a free bag of firewood is provided). Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring. Facilities include a basic toilet facilities (a portaloo), fire ring and cement bench. Exclusivity is a feature of this campsite and for that reason we only take a flat rate booking. Once you have booked no one else will be able to camp at this site, it is all yours.

Great private and clean location. Portaloo was clean and worked as expected. Some bins on site helped us keep the site clean. Creek provided exploration for the little camper. I’d probably have a dip in the warmer months. Great fire pit and hot burning timber.

Thank you so much to Michael and Sally for allowing us to share their spectacular part of the world. The camp site is huge and secluded with a lovely creek, picnic table, fire pit and porta loo. The wildlife and stars are breathtaking and the communication and directions from the owners was wonderful. We will be sure to return.

Kerry Valley Secret - Platypus Camp
Kerry Valley Secret Platypus Camp was absolutely beautiful! Its super peaceful camped right up next to the fire place. The river is a short walk and the kids fished the entire weekend catching bass, seeing turtles, platypus and an eel. The site has power which is awesome as well. Michael was super nice and the campground was in perfect condition when we got there - even the toilet was brand new and spotless. Lovely spot, had a great time!

Wow this camp site is incredible! Completely private and tucked away with your only visitors being the cows next door! The river was beautiful and so peaceful. Micheal and Sally were so lovely providing so much information about different walking tracks and recommendations! This was the best camping spot I’ve ever been to !

We loved this campsite and enjoyed it with our family and friends! The owners are lovely and very helpful, there was plenty of wood and the facilities were super clean. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a private area.

The serenity of the place was magnificent! The creek running through the site is just magical. The outdoor kitchen sink was very handy and the toilets were very clean. Kids enjoy helping with setting up the campfire a lot! It's just the right amount services to be with nature.

Quite honestly the best location we have ever experienced on Hipcamp and camping generally. Beautiful private location. All the amenities you need. Close proximity to the things you need. It really doesn’t get any better.

This camp site is one of the more spacious sites I’ve ever used. It has lots of room for friends/families to spread out and have their own space while still all being together. There’s plenty of shade by the creek and the toilets and sinks are all kept so clean. We were all very impressed at the cleanliness and well kept site. The creek is peaceful to sit by and the river is only a short walk away. There is plenty of space to play football or cricket, then walk to the river to cool off. Everything was perfect and we are already planning our next trip back.

This is our favorite spot to camp as a family. Have been back many times and it cannot be beaten! Great River access for young kids, great little bush walks, toilets are clean and easy to use, hosts are fantastic, plenty of wood provided for the fire!

Beautiful spot, very peaceful and well maintained. Host was very friendly and welcoming, he explained everything on arrival. River access was amazing and plenty of firewood provided. The only negative things were that the walking track entrance wasn't easy to locate, there are signs however you have to kind of guess where to go once you get across the river, and we did have an issue with bush rats at night eating the kids toys and the annex matting. Would 100% return to this spot as the positives far outweighed any negatives
