There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

You have 2 options for this campsite, on either side of the creek.   One is easy access and suitable for a caravan on the flat next to the creek, just 10m off our driveway.   The other is 4WD access only as you have to cross through the creek, where it is a bit muddy, slushy and rocky, to get there, and traverse up a rough track. Beautiful open area off the beaten track with large logs for the children to run along and right next to the creek.   Suitable for a single family, or invite a group of friends with their 4WD's. A group with mixed vehicles could camp either side.  The whole area is yours, whether your group is large or small. This solid timber cabin is beautifully situated on a tree covered hill in the center of Hope Valley. There's also a lovely big firepit for outdoor cooking. Guests will enjoy the hilltop to themselves but our house is on one side of the hill so close enough if they want to help feed the farm animals or need assistance with anything. The cabin has solar power, tank water, and gas cooking and hot water.

Pilgrim's Rest
We had a great camp setup at Pilgrims Rest! They aren’t kidding when they say 4x4 only. It was our first experience towing our van in these conditions: steep, rocky and creek crossings. (We nailed it). Got in and out of camp no issues even though it was a little tight. Excellent creek for the kids to explore right in eye sight of camp. A few cars came by but nothing that was disturbing. Had some visitors (cows and horses). Quiet and remote. No phone service. Star-link worked until the weather kicked off. We had a deluge in the afternoon and overnight. Anita came down in the morning to check the creek crossings on our departure day. Advised us to head off as soon as possible due to the possibility of being flooded in. Great hosts. Good communication and excellent directions given. If we are in the area again we would visit again.

Our family had such a wonderful weekend away at Anita’s beautiful property. It was so peaceful, we explored the area on foot, along the creek and also in our 4WD up to a lookout high on the ridge. The horses visited us at our cabin several times, which was a highlight. The cabin was so private we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Definitely need a 4WD! And the drive to Anita’s property is so beautiful too.

10 out of 10 for me! We camped at pilgrims rest and were the only people there. Right beside the freshwater Creek. Not much water in the creek ATM but holes deep enough to dip in. Could hear the water running constantly. It was exactly what I wanted. Cows and horses grazing on the property

Anita’s cabin was great and it had everything we needed. I was surprised to learn that there was even wifi, although we did not use it because we wanted to disconnect from the world. We had a blast and can’t wait to go back.

Hideaway haven was absolutely magical and cannot rate the hosts enough. In contact with us leading up to the stay and checking everything was ok/ any questions after settling in. The spot had many beautiful places to set up in and even with the unforeseen fire ban in place Anita came up with a solution to still be able to use the hot tub. Overall a wonderful, relaxing weekend away with incredible hosts. Cant wait to return and make more memories

Honestly the nicest cabin we have ever stayed in. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable and cosy. Plenty of open space outside and great big firepit which we enjoyed. Cleanest composting toilet i have seen so far, can't say I'm much of a fan of them due to bad experiences but this one was very clean and well maintained. The property is beautiful and we had a great time exploring and hiking up to the Ridge, what a view! We had such a wonderful trip and will definitely be back again and again.

Amazing landscape and scenic views, Anita was very friendly and helpful. Perfect place for 4WD lovers. The kids spent hours exploring the creek and the cabin was built to perfection. We will definitely be back!

We truly enjoyed having heaps of space in nature, extra quiet nights and everything else that comes along with it. Place was as described and we didn't lack anything. Planning to go back again. Btw, you definitely need 4wd to get there. Lengths of the road are not suitable for a regular car.

The hosts are incredible- very helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful, stayed on “sunny hill” and it was a great spot - walking distance to the creek. Tall gums would be an amazing site too - if you don’t have too many vehicles. Would absolutely recommend- we will be back for sure ❤️

Look, I could go on about how peaceful this place is… or I could rave about the shady camp spots, and the kind of serenity that makes your phone battery last longer because you’re too chilled out to scroll. But I won’t. Because if too many people find out how good this place is, I might never be able to get a booking again at my favourite camp. So please- do yourself a favour and don’t come. It’s too quiet. Too beautiful. Too relaxing. Probably not your thing. (Unless you're into that sort of horrible stuff.)

Loved our time a tall gums. We had visits from horses and a beautiful wiener calf who couldn't get enough scratches. Awesome creek for the kids to explore while mum n dad chilled by the fire. No phone reception so no disruptions for the perfect relax and reset.

An amazing experience.

This was such a special weekend with my brother in law and father in law. This place is spectacular, the cabin is fantastic, very comfortable and warm with all the amenities you need. The fire pits are massive, we had a huge fire. The animals around the property are very friendly. I honestly couldn't have asked for more. This is a new favourite spot, can't wait to take the wife and kids ds there.
