Fruit Farm Camp offers a peaceful retreat for mature travellers. The unpowered mown campsites are situated ajacent to a farm unfenced dam and on cleared acreage surrounded by natural bush. After 6 months touring Queensland in 2021 with our own caravan, we decided to develop a picturesque area at the back of our land for mature travellers to enjoy. 20 Years ago the land was virgin scrub, now there are over 300 established different exotic fruit, nut, spice and bush tucker trees and plants. We use a number of different farming techniques. Our own beehives provide pollination and honey. A small farm produce shop is available. Guests have access to a toilet, solar powered showers and the camp kitchen throughout their stay. Campfires are permitted outside of restrictions and we have firewood available for guests to use on site. There is a 1.5 km undulating bush walk on the property requiring average fitness. We are located four kilometres from the Bruce Highway at Bloomsbury, access is via sealed road then 300m of gravel road through the farm. We are just 10 mins from the beach or O'Connell river fishing, 1 hour to Mackay or Airlie Beach, 3 kms to the Dittman Bullarama site and 15 minutes to Bredls Wild Farm. Well behaved pets are welcome. Extras: Fruit tasting and guided Farm tour available when staying 2 nights or more. Honey and farm produce for sale. We stayed one night only, but there are plenty of things to do on the property and in the district if you wanted to stop for a couple of days. The kitchen is quirky but very well equipped, the showers were hot. Nick and Kaye were excellent hosts, we can recommend Fruit Camp Farm.

The whole experience at Fruit Farm Camp was so welcoming and relaxing. Our hosts were amazing and informative, loved the tour and fruit tasting. The drinks with the other guests around the campfire on our last night was memorable. Would definitely recommend it to anyone passing through. We will be back.

Fantastic camp that is stunningly quiet and picturesque, a great place to unwind. Great accomodating hosts that we really enjoyed chatting to. Not a lot that Nick doesn’t know about the local flora and fauna and is more than happy to share the knowledge. 😎

We had a wonderful time at the fruitfarm. It is a peaceful and beautiful place. Nick and Kaye are wonderful hosts. Nicks passion for his about 400 different species of fruits and bushtucker is stunning and he likes to share it with his guests.

I loved our Fruit Farm Camp Stay. The hosts Nick & Kaye are so accommodating. They give you as much or as little attention as you desire. The facilities are second to none. We were blown away how the owners had repurposed materials to create an amazing ensuite.

Nick and Kaye were lovely and welcoming. We even got a jar of jam on arrival. What a beautiful little camping area with showers and toilets. Unfortunately we didn't do the tour as we had an event to go to but would definitely be keen to do that next time! Although Nick gave us a little taste testing of some of the fruits they grow which was interesting. Will be back for sure 😀

Kaye and Nick were welcoming and helpful. Kaye even gave us a welcome jar of guava jam. Their campsites are beautifully mown and private. They have provided a camp kitchen, toilets and showers for visitors. Far from the madding crowd but a good base to travel to local attractions.

We loved our stay with Nick and Kaye the tasting and tour of the exotic tropical plants was amazing and very informative. It was so good to sit around after share a drink and chat to them both about the amazing farm they’ve set up. Kaye’s poetry and their jams and preserves are amazing too. The facilities were great so nice and clean. We would highly recommend a stay at Fruit Farm! A fantastic experience , a beautiful spot and very quiet and peaceful. A big thank you to Nick and Kaye for looking after us

It is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The facilities are clean and well kept. The hosts are lovely and very accomodating. Nick's fruit tour and Kayes treats in the camp shop we're the highlight. So happy we found this place.. will be back.

A Taste of the Australian Bush

We were greeted by Nick and Kaye who gave us a tasty welcome gift of dried bananas. We were then shown the amenities which included a clean, spacious camp toilet and heated shower facility run on solar power. Also there was a camp kitchen with cutlery, utensils and a small camp shop selling produce from their farm. The camp site itself was well looked after and spacious with fires permitted in the fire pit. We enjoyed some happy hour drinks with our hosts on the first evening and invited to do a farm tour in the morning. The farm tour was fabulous, spanning over 15acres and including over 250 varieties of bush tucker, aboriginal fruits and plants. Most of which we had never heard of before. Along the way we were treated to a tasting of the ripe fruits on the property which was a unique and educational experience, showcasing some of Australia's hidden delights, fruits from the bush that are not available to us in our everyday lives. Chocolate pudding fruit, ice cream fruit and lemonade fruit are just some that were on offer. Bee keeping is also on site, with the delicious cold pressed honey on sale in the camp shop. Our hosts were really hospitable, knowledgeable and friendly. We would have no hesitation in recommending this as a stay during your travels with the farm offering a great experience of the Australiana bush.
