A Taste of the Australian Bush
We were greeted by Nick and Kaye who gave us a tasty welcome gift of dried bananas. We were then shown the amenities which included a clean, spacious camp toilet and heated shower facility run on solar power. Also there was a camp kitchen with cutlery, utensils and a small camp shop selling produce from their farm. The camp site itself was well looked after and spacious with fires permitted in the fire pit.
We enjoyed some happy hour drinks with our hosts on the first evening and invited to do a farm tour in the morning.
The farm tour was fabulous, spanning over 15acres and including over 250 varieties of bush tucker, aboriginal fruits and plants. Most of which we had never heard of before. Along the way we were treated to a tasting of the ripe fruits on the property which was a unique and educational experience, showcasing some of Australia's hidden delights, fruits from the bush that are not available to us in our everyday lives.
Chocolate pudding fruit, ice cream fruit and lemonade fruit are just some that were on offer.
Bee keeping is also on site, with the delicious cold pressed honey on sale in the camp shop.
Our hosts were really hospitable, knowledgeable and friendly. We would have no hesitation in recommending this as a stay during your travels with the farm offering a great experience of the Australiana bush.
